Summary: Whether the latest firmware is at fault or some other error is to blame, this game is a complete waste of money.
It doesn't get past the second load screen.
After showing the CompUSA store employee what happens trying to load this game, we tried with another brand new copy of the game - same result - DOA.
It's almost certainly the later than 2.6 firmware (the version that comes on the UMD) that causes this problem, however with neither a patch available from EA or the ability to downgrade firmware without serious risk of bricking the PSP there doesn't appear to be any solution to this problem.
Don't waste your money, if you must get a FIFA game, don't get anything older than FIFA 07 - EA obviously write sloppy code and don't have adequate testing procedure in place for something like this to occur.
When I ran a software test dept. we would call this a "Show Stopper". i.e. it's so bad you can not release the product.
Summary: It's a fun game much like every other FIFA game. Load time is a little long, and I don't like the option of not being able to use the key pad to move around as opposed to the joystick. (Never liked the analog stick, but thats just cause I'm old fashioned)
