- Description: A group of friends have been transformed into cars by a magician, then forced to race for their immortal souls within the confines of a gigantic house. The main event in Pocket Racers is the Soul Race, in which you gamble the souls of your friends - if you win, they are free; lose they belong to the magician. As you race it's possible to collect Soul Gems that can be used in exchange for defeated souls. There are 16 super-cars to choose from, though only six to begin with - the rest must you're gonna have to earn using your driving skills. Designs vary to include American Muscle, SUV style, and futuristic prototype. During a race, five power-ups can be used which include missiles, lightning bolts, icy blasts and nitro boosts. Missiles explode cars and roadside objects, for example, whereas ice affects acceleration and handling. Thanks to the interactive backdrops, you can find clever alternative ways of stopping adversaries in their tracks. With locations that range from science labs to garages and kitchens, you've plenty of crazy obstacles to take shots at and see what happens next. Empty cans, discarded pizza boxes and other objects can also be knocked into the pathway of specific opponents or exploded to create havoc. Additional single player modes are Time Trial which is a race against the clock, and Practice that gives free reign on any track that has been unlocked. Players can compete via wireless connection in a race, or in Domination mode tagging objects their team color. There's even Soccer - yes, nudging a giant football around to score goals! Konami told you it was crazy.
