Okay game, but not the best Racing game for PSP
by Kev50027 on May 14, 2005

Cons: Not as much fun as other racing games for PSP

Summary: This game is fun, but it can be extremely annoying. When you run into the sides it slows you down so much that doing so can make you lose an entire race from just running into the side once. It is also very hard to steer, the vehicules dont steer very well. The best part of the game is that you can shoot things at other people, but since most travel in a straight line and the tracks are curvy that gets to be more of a pain than a help. If you must surf the web before Sony releases the update, it may be worth it but otherwise avoid this game

I've had this game for about 2 years now...
by Invierno1894 on February 12, 2008
Pros: 480p graphics, downloadable content from "wipeoutpure.com", many vehicles to choose from, many tracks, different content (such as zone, racing, time trial, etc.), AD-HOC play, unlockables
Cons: After about an hour you get bored of it, but after a little while you get this urge to pick it up again, no Infrastracture play
Summary: This is one of the greatest racing games I have seen in my life! One of the features that support what I say is that you have a goal, that ...
Summary: This is one of the greatest racing games I have seen in my life! One of the features that support what I say is that you have a goal, that goal is to unlock stuff such as new tracks, new vehicles, and different difficulty (speeds), it also unlocks new tournaments. The basic controls of just "x" for accelerating and "control pad/or stick" sort of bores you after a while. You do however have the ability to shoot off weapons or use the weapons for health. But after repeating the same thing during every race, you get bored, so you put it down and move onto another game after at least an hour. But then this sudden urge will then make you feel like you should go and play it after a while after you dropped this game. Great game, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT WAS ONE OF THE RELEASE GAMES FOR THE PSP! Sony often have games that don't seem appealing on a console release day...
If you seem very interested in this game then may I recommend that you sorta "upgrade" to another game exactly like this, same company and everything, just it offers more. It depletes some of the listed cons above, such as Infrastructure play, more tracks, and newer interesting vehicles. I don't exactly have it yet, but I have preordered it and it will be coming out tomorrow (Feb. 13, 2008). For more information about this game, go back to the search bar on this site and search "Wipeout Pulse", when I get it, I will try it out and write something just as i did here. Just try to search for Invierno1894 under that game in the "user opinions", thank you for taking your time and reading this. -
Fun hovercraft racing game
by PSP9 on February 8, 2007
Pros: Good graphics, fun racing, easy controls
Cons: Gets old quickly, not many options for more hovercrafts
Summary: I purchased this game from Costco after reading many good reviews of it, but became quickly bored with it's lack of more vehicles

Summary: This game offers a great experience to anyone who plays it. The graphics and sound are superb, and the races provide hours and hours of play time. The higher-class races are very difficult to win, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing - it encourages the player to master each track in order to triumph. All in all, I'd certainly recommend this game to Wipeout fans and non-fans alike.

Pros: Good graphics.
Cons: Hard to get used to.

- Description: The mid-2130s would see the vast Dvertel Media Corporation succeed in wresting control of the league from those who sought to preserve its integrity. The extreme weapons and corresponding violent spectacle instilled by Dvertel during the years that followed could not have been further from the intentions of the sport's creator, the late Pierre Belmondo. The F9000 would eventually implode in 2170, when the exposure of widespread corruption caused the collapse of Dvertel and of numerous commercial partners involved with the league. The sharp economic downturn would taint the following decade with depression and, in some regions, lead to the outbreak of war. During the early 2180s, the sport would find its feet once more thanks to a thriving amateur scene, as enthusiasts with restored craft met to race on make shift circuits around the globe. This resurgence led to the Anti-Gravity Purity Festival (an event held in the Nevada desert to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first AG fight), and consequently to the return of organized racing with the strictly amateur FH50 league. The unmitigated success of the amateur series would restore the image of the sport and lead the world to embrace anti-gravity racing in a way not seen since the early 2100s. After a decade of rising of rising popularity for the FH150, and amid the growing demands of the many manufacturers that supplies the amateur scene, the Belmondo Foundation announced the creation of the FH300 league in 2195. This league would be open to factory teams and professional pilots, making a triumphant return to the origins of the sport. The artificial Pacific Island of Makana was chosen to host the FH300, its diverse geological profile lending well to the construction of twelve challenging tracks during the following years. Now, with the advent of the FH300 in 2197, professional anti-gravity racing is back on track.
