Summary: This radio was purchased only 6 months ago and the screw that anchored the antenna on the interior of the unit broke threw it's threads when I was adjusting the antenna for signal. We've tried to repair it, but as of today, I realized it was no longer recieving the alerts when I learned of a tornado warning in our area from the local TV station. The radio itself is sufficient and reliable. However, the cheap construction has rendered ours useless.

Summary: I was able to pick up my unit at Wal Mart last year on clearance - I wish I had gone back and bought them all up, it was a steal - but still worth every penny if you can't find on sale. I live in FL and I think anyone who lives here should definiatly invest in a good unit such as this one. With the "S.A.M.E." technology I do NOT get false alerts for counties which are not near me - this was a major requirement!

Summary: I purchae a WR- 100B weather radio. it was easy to program. I programed it for the county that I live in, and recieve alerts for other counties covered by the weather station in our county.. Sent it back to Midland and they promptly returned a different radio. ( It had been programed for a different county and weather channel) So it was evidently a returned radio already. When I recieved the different radio I programed it for a single county(the one I live in) and low and behold the first time the alert tone sounded it is for 3 counties north east of hear. Not even close to here. So I contacted them again and am still waiting to hear from them.

Summary: This is a very good and usful weather radio. It has S.A.M.E. technology wich allows you to only let it alert you for your county or your part of your county. It has a LCD display to show the alert. The only thing that is bad is the alert siren is not as loud as my old Uniden two way radio for the same price.
Overall, I WOULD RECOMEND IT TO A FRIEND. -
Worked Well for over a year

Summary: I have used this radio for over a year in Texas and Illinois and it has worked well. I receives stations in a 50+ mile radius. The SAME codes block unwanted events and properly pass desired warnings (we get a lot). Even though unplugged during transport from one location to another AND the batteries died, it retained the programmed information during the move. I have given this radio as gifts to family and friends.
