Summary: Wow, what a disappointment. My previous Sony "sports" style armband radio survived every bit of abuse I could throw at it these past three years. So I was definitely looking forward to this latest version. Overall the S2 is extremely well thought out with numerous improvements over the older model including more, and easier to access station presets, VHF and Weather (Wx) band reception, and a variety of timer functions.
Unfortunately, the S2 is essentially incapable of receiving FM broadcasts (and I live in the middle of the greater L.A. area where strong FM signals abound). AM, TV, and Wx band reception is fine. And, for the record, I've been back to BestBuy twice since my initial purchase, and all three radios exhibit the exact same defect.
How could Sony let this happen? Do they even have a QA dept. any more?

Summary: Seems to have some trouble with antenna functionality. It is kind of a mess. Because of this product and the Sony DAV-FC8 Theatre system which is also unusable after only one year of use, I will never purchase another Sony product.
