The good: Attractive design; clock with alarm (wake to iPod songs); supports Radio Data System (RDS) text feeds from stations that offer them; iPod charges while in dock; auxiliary line-in; included remote offers more than basic control over your iPod.
The bad: Expensive; bass could be stronger; no bass and treble controls; no video output.
The bottom line: While its sound didn't blow us away, the iYiYi offers improved bass over the iSongBook and decent features in an attractively styled package.

$112 at Frys!!!

Pros: Sounds great (except at full volume), AM/FM, a remote that scrolls through playlists and albums.
Cons: Don't turn it to full blast. Not battery powered (but it's not meant to be)

rich sound, radio essential

Pros: sound, footprint, radio, kitchen perfect.
Cons: works with iphone, but have to tell iphone it is ok

Summary: I was searching for a ipod player for the kitchen that also had a radio. the radio being the key ingredient. i listened to the im600 and the like but they were pretty weak. The bose sound doc did not have a radio, and the others that did were too much like a stereo.
The editors have it wrong, there is lots of bass. The sound is rich and warm. and the remote is very functional. I probably have more bass because of the unit being located closer to the wall and below a cupboard.
the clock dims automatically etc. But the line out and video stuff really doesn't matter in the kitchen.
All told, I have had it for about a month and love it.
