  Problem with water leakage.

  Pros: Convenient size, freezer on the bottom.

  Cons: Six month old refrigerator leaking water all over the floor. The warranty service is very, very, very slow. The leaking water is due to condensation water blocked by a bad valve. (It's not due to the ice maker or the cold water outlet in the refrigerat

  Dangerous Junk

  Pros: Lots of space

  Cons: Leaked water all over the floor repeatedly, drain pan overflows. Severely damaged wood floor. KitchenAid customer service pulls legal crap, says they do not recommend this unit on wood floor.

  Summary: Avoid like the plague, many many folks have this problem. They need to pull the French door Units off the market. The company knowingly ships bad units. Mine had a service bulletin out on it when shipped. The company is full of lawyers who send letters stating they are not EVER obligated to repair the unit, even in the first year....steer clear. What a mess, because of this appliance I will have to have the entire kitchen wood flooring done again. KitchenAid offers no help, through legal posturing they can wrangell out of any warranty.

  Good luck if a crucial part breaks

  Pros: Looks good, cools food, freezer still works when fridge breaks

  Cons: Our fridge broke after less than 2 years and KitchenAid stood firmly behind its one-year warranty, even though the part installed was a fault electrical board. Don't buy!

  Summary: The control board, the part that tells the fridge's fan to work, broke after less than 2 years. KitchenAid's warranty does not cover this part beyond one year because it's not on "90% of the time." Should a $3000 fridge break after less than 2 years in use? No way! Dealing with KitchenAid's customer care was a lesson in patience.
