The good: Powerful universal remote with great ergonomics; color LCD screen surrounded by five contextual buttons; Web programmable via Windows or Mac PCs; excellent button layout and overall design; supports custom sequences/macros; sub-$100 price tag.
The bad: Only controls five devices; requires Internet-connected PC to program; adding favorite channel icons is a bit more difficult than it should be; an additional $20 gets you the step-up model rechargeable batteries.
The bottom line: The Logitech Harmony 650 is one of the best universal remotes you can buy for less than $100.

No more remote clutter.

Pros: Got at best buy black friday sale for 50 bucks. Replaced all my remotes. fairly easy to use. Really like the help button if something doesnt work right the help button fixes the issue everytime.
Cons: setup was not all that easy but not hard either. read directions carefully. no rechargeable battery, but you can buy rechargeable aa's and fix that problem.

You have to answer alot of questions, understandably though. definately worth 50 bucks and even the normal list of 100 or so. No touch screen but that isnt a must. you can program all your old remote buttons that you think you wont need into this one via the software. Been using it for about a month and so far the batteries are still going. The help button on the remote is your friend, after it is programmed properly. if you have an issue hit the help button and it will fix the issue on its own. you dont have to manually input your tv codes. You must have the make and model of all the units you plan on using this remote for before you start the setup process. I was going to buy the Harmony one but since this was on sale I figured I would try it. glad I did, saved alot of money and still able to remove the remote clutter. setup says to plan on 45 minutes but it took me over an hour but that was my fault. dont rush it or you will be sorry.

Summary: I had 3 of these within a year. First buttons failed out of the box so I returned it for a new one. Then the device would reset itself and I found on the web this was a common issue and they admitted as such. The third device lasted a whole 6 months and then buttons failed again. This seems to be common with this device (see other reviews) or search the web. An in-law has a different model for 3 years and it is running strong. The idea is great, the execution of this one is poor.

I believe that it is possible to insert a delay before certain commands are sent to a device. If so, this may solve the incorrect input issue with the TV.

Pros: Does control the items selected, and sets up each according to your choice. Easy to use once programmed. Has motion sensor to turn on display when picked up.
Cons: Works perfectly for 3 ~ 4 months. My 1st one started failing, so I returned it to the store. They replaced it with an identical 650. Again, about 3 months later, the same failure happened. To resume using it, I have to cover the front to avoid sending the

Pros: Set up was extremely easy. No need for manuals. The use of this remote is very intuitive. It is so much easier then the Yamaha home theater remote that I had. It was worth the money simply replacing that one remote.
Cons: The only problem that I had was with the website. I had trouble logging onto the site. It took an extremely long time. I used multiple computers and browsers with the same result. However, once in, the setup could not be easier.

Cons: Not rechargable and has a limit of 5 devices, will not work with RF or Bluetooth, model numbers to all devices are required and it takes time to look it all up.

Summary: I have three Harmony Remotes to-date and I really like this one. To those complaining about time to set up I say blah, it's as easy as installing the disc on your computer, gathering a list of the devices you want to control and the required inputs. Connect the remote with the included usb cable and set up an account. Everything else is pretty straight forward, I let my seven year old daughter set this one up and I customized, had it all done in 15 minutes.
I gave it 4.5 stars because of the back light on the buttons are yellow...really? Blue is moi gusto... -
