frustrating, close but not quite

Pros: internet programmability no codes to program
Cons: common to most products, lacks the ability to determine the state of the device controlloed - "on" vs "off" not really flexible enough for an unusual setup

Great Remote Designed for the End User!
by on January 5, 2004
Pros: 2 things set this remote apart: (1) Great, Web-based configuration with a vast database of electronics devices. Forget about punching in obscure codes into your remote -- just select the Manufacturer and Model of your device, and you're off to the races
Cons: The placement of the "Transport" keys (Play, Fast Forward, etc.) is awkward and would be better somewhere in the center of the remote.

Worst customer support ever!
by kvonkessel on February 20, 2006

Cons: Logitech does not know the first thing about customer support.

Summary: I've owned two Logitech universal remotes, the Harmony 628 and Harmony 659 (you'd think I'd have learned my lesson by now). The 628 was an inferior product, but I can attribute that to its early design. The 659 fairs better, but if any issue requiring customer support comes up, you might as well buy a "Remote for Dummies" book.
I have never experienced poorer customer support. They are unknowledgeable, incompetent, have a horrible response time (even though they say they will contact you in one business day) and fight you tooth and nail for any type of compensation. They even make the return process so difficult that it's easier to buy a different product.
If you buy it, hope that you never need any "support"--it doesn't exist.
