Cons: Must read directions to set up, though if you read them its not hard to set up.
Summary: This remote does everything I need it to at a reasonable price. The learning function works well if the remote doesn't have a button you need.

I love the macro function, I don't know how I lived without it. It used to take a dozen steps o switch the tv input and watch roku or dvds but now iit's just one button!
Not hard to set up bit you must read directions to get it working!
Not all my devices were included on the code list and several of the codes from the list did not work. The search function found the codes quickly though, and this likely wouldn't be a problem for a better brand of tv. I was not able to get a working code for roku so I had the remote learn each button from my roku remote. I don't love the design of the remote, I think it would be more user friendly if the buttons were broken up more. I'm sure I'll get used to it but the seven rows of rectangular buttons at the top look unnecessarily complicated, but at the price point with all the features included this is a minor complaint to me.
Pros: Cheap and works well and learns from other remotes
Cons: No built in codes for the Roku, or Asus O'Play Air

Summary: We purchased 2 of these remotes , one for my wife and one for me. I liked the placement of the buttons better on the Sony RM VL-610 but eventually become familiar enough with this remote. The new button learning procedure is different than the Sony RM VL-610 and took a little while to get accustomed to using, but once we did everything went OK. You need to make sure you have new batteries to make the learning process better, and some people had problems using re-chargeable batteries during the learning process.
As previously posted, even though it claims to work out of the box with Sony products, we had to try a few codes to find the most compatible setup and then added a few buttons to personalize it to our system. For example: the Sony 400 disc changer worked OK but I could not access the menu where you select a different disc, so I just programmed that one to the input button. Our Sony A/V receiver worked but I could not find the button to jump to specific inputs, so a few seconds I programmed the abcd buttons to go to various hdmi inputs. Easy, once you know how.
Overall, for a $17.xx ( with free 2 day shipping) the Sony RM VLZ620 is a good remote .
I do wish Sony would add the feature the older Sony RM-VL900 remotes had where you could pres a button or two and one remote would learn everything from another Sony RM-VL900. I do really miss that feature but understand that most customers probably only have a need for 1 remote.
Cons: Its TOO awesome so I had to buy 2 more of these after my first one.

The codes are posted on sony's website (as well as the manual), just under "DVD/Receiver Combo". 31454, 31558, 31622, 31658, 31758, 31822, 31827, 31858, 31882, 32172, 32522
I have a BDV-E300 and it works fine. Aslo, "tittle5845" posted on a comcast forum that he finally figured it out (it was the FIRST code i just listed), so I don't know why he didn't take down his embarrassing post (the fact it took someone more than 5 mins to figure that out should be embarrassing).
Pros: Works great with Comcast Cable Box & Sony Bravia TV
Cons: Does not work with Sony Blu-Ray Home Theater Systems

Summary: My problems began when I selected a Sony Blu-Ray BDV-E570. It turns out there's a difference between the Blu-Ray PLAYER & the Bu-Ray Home THeater System as far as Remotes are concerned.
THe E570 is an HTS. The HTS doesn't seem to be compatible with ANY Remote Control Device EXCEPT for the one included in the package.
I struggled for 2 days with the Comcast Motorola Remote. The Remote allows the use of the Aux Button to control other Devices. No luck with the E570 however. Comcast says Sony changed something & they don't see a need to address it.
I checked around & found that the Sony Universal Remote will run the Cable Box, TV & Blu-Ray. Wooo Hooo!
I research on CNet, Best Buy & several other sites. Customer Reviews loved it. The RM-VL600 was universally recommended with 5 Stars. I bought one & brought it home, anticipating the "Final Solution" to my Remote Control Blues.
Then the Headaches REALLY started. I read the docs, "RM-VLZ620 comes pre programed for Sony Products, Just sit down & use it." Or not. In 10 Seconds I had the Cable Box functions working fine. The TV, a Sony Bravia, also worked fine.
Then I started trying to get the E570 to work. No Luck in the 1st 2 Hrs. I went to ESupport Chat. After much Polite dancing around they came back with "The VLZ620 is not compatible with Blu-Ray HOME THEATER SYSTEMS. It is compatible with Blu-Ray Players however.
Please Note the fine difference here. No where on the Packaging, Documentation or anywhere else is this differentiation made until you call Tech Support. They act all innocent, like they are gong to help you, then your done. "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
BE WARNED!! THe RM-VLZ620 & probably EVERY OTHER Remote is NOT Compatible with the BDV-E570. Welcome to Orphan Land.
