Great once interference from cordless phone fixed.
by louie1225 on December 12, 2010
Pros: Easy set-up, covers entire house. All wireless computers and i-pod connected without trouble.
Cons: Interference from cordless phone issue should be addressed in the set-up instructions.
Summary: Great price at Target. Easy set-up. Once I changed the channel on the router to fix the interference from the cordless phone the router worked great.

This is the worst router EVER!!!!
by jaime926 on January 14, 2012
Pros: It works for a maximum of 3 months before you start having issues.
Cons: I have been on the phone with Belkin more than 5 times and I haven't owned this router for a year yet. They even, at one point, came to the conclusion that it was my computer, not my router. So I sent my computer out and got it back and it was fine.
Summary: This router sucks....don't waste your money. Even though I only spent $40 on this, it was the worst investment that I ever made.

Router Good - Setup CD Causes Issues
by RaeKL1968 on August 22, 2011
Pros: I live in Malaysia where prices for electronics are outrageous, but the Belkin Surf was reasonably priced ... for here (RM 239; USD 79). The pros for me don't come from the Surf, but from Belkin tech support in Malaysia. The tech was responsive and stayed
Cons: Although the Surf is packaged to be "idiot proof" with tags saying do this first, this second...and the wires already plugged in, the Surf does not work out of the box as it should. I had to spend 1+ hour on the phone with Belkin tech support to reconfig
Summary: Although the Surf seems intended to be easy to set up, it did not work "out of the box". Belkin should recall these modems and repackage them without the problem ...

Some of the Pro and Con posts did not post.
Pros: Tech was responsive and stayed on the phone 1+ hour until the modem was working.
Cons: I had to spend 1+ hour on the phone with Belkin tech support to reconfigure the modem to work the first day. The next morning, I had to call tech support again because the computer that the Belking software was installed on could not connect. Other computers in the house could, however. The tech suggested uninstalling the Belkin software and so far the modem is working on all computers in our home.

not worth the money
by aceneerav on April 28, 2011
Pros: good looks, thats about it...
Cons: no details for reason of disconnection from wan, port forwarding is difficult, gives only 2 to 3 mBps transfer speeds on wlan even when both computers are using 802.11n
Summary: If i could roll back, i would go for linksys or netgear instead.

Great router, CD sucks
by ztanos on November 27, 2010
Pros: Much better than the 5 year old netgear that I had. Have had no disconnection issues. Much faster. More reliable signal.
Cons: Setup CD made the computer that I installed it on the only computer that couldn't connect to the internet. Once I uninstalled the setup software worked great. Weird design made it hard to replace an on the wall unit.
Summary: Great router, horrible setup cd(don't use), weird design. Would recommend to everyone that doesn't mind it taking up shelf space, but it is tiny so not much.

This is an excellent router!!!
by BlazinSoul on November 19, 2010
Pros: Great Wireless coverage, easy to set up, small, N300, simple and effective and at a great price.
Cons: none yet and have had it a while! (the software needs an update - software manager says it has lost connection every now and then)
Summary: this is a great router and has excellent wireless coverage (THROUGH WALLS AND OUTSIDE). it works well with my PS3 and my x box 360 and has given me any ...

Summary: this is a great router and has excellent wireless coverage (THROUGH WALLS AND OUTSIDE). it works well with my PS3 and my x box 360 and has given me any trouble. Only thing I didn't like was the amount of settings it had on the software but it was very easy to set up. the software sometimes says the router has lost connection with the Internet but it hasn't , it only lost the connection with the software manager. I would recommend this router!!!

Summary: I have had to reset the router up to 10 times some days. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to its behavior. It will often disconnect while I am in the middle of surfing the internet. It has worked better since we uninstalled the software (a suggestion by a blogger). We bought it as a stopgap until we switched our internet over to cell service. That plan changed and now we are stuck with this frustrating model. Hope to upgrade/replace SOOOOOOON!!!

By far the worst router I have used
by cdc_tx07 on November 12, 2010
Pros: Quick setup.
Cons: By far the worst router I have used. It constantly drops connection, it has connection issues when I try to get into the admin screen, and the software is annoying. Belkin, you can do better.

Exchanged 2x - Same results
by sgt44 on August 31, 2010
Pros: Small package
Cons: Unreliable. Wired desktop had more connection issues than 2 wireless laptops. Exchanged at Best Buy. 2nd unit had the same issues. Got a netgear N300 for $10 more - works great.
Summary: I wouldn't let anyone I know purchase this.
