If you don't need far range it is a good device.

Pros: Reliable for the most part, I rarely ever have to power cycle (Turn it off for 5 minutes to get it working)and I do count on it for working full time from home. However I am hard wired directly to the modem.
Cons: As for the WIFI capabilities, I am not so confident. I'm only commenting here as I'm on a search for a better device... I suspect the range is not so great, I've had to move it a few times to get good WIFI signals in my 2200 SQ FT house. Hmmm.

Summary: If your using it in an open... unobstructed space and dont need to rely on it's wireless capabilities it is a good device. For the most part the WIFI has been good so I give it a 3 star rating, but I have had low signal readings when I test it around the house. "Could" be related to how many people are on in my area. But i pat $80 for top speeds from SHAW.

Summary: The fix for me was to go to a Motorola modem and return to my Airport Extreme. I don't know if the device was not set up right by Mediacom or the DPC3825 is a lemon. After reading the first review I'm glad I didn't waste my time trying to get support. Apple by the way tried to assist me.

Modem is a faulty product. QC is terrible

Pros: It worked for 30 days easy to set up if you are computer savy
Cons: Zero product support from Cisco as iits called and Enterprise product
Manuals form Cisco references are wrong and its not supported at all
I have tried two and got the same problem product line is defective

Cisco will only support Enterprise users when it can be purchased via the web through other outlets. My dealiing with Cisco was beyond poor. Note that Cisco makes Linksys so be aware product QC and support is not correct.

The DPC3825 provides a faster connection to the Internet by incorporating eight bonded downstream channels along with four bonded upstream channels. These bonded channels can deliver downstream data rates in excess of 340Mbps and upstream data rates in excess of 120Mbps. That's up to eight times faster download than conventional single-channel DOCSIS 2.0 cable modems. The DPC3825 is designed to meet DOCSIS 3.0 specifications, as well as offering backward compatibility for operation in DOCSIS 2.0, 1.1, and 1.0 networks. Designed for the active digital home or office, the DPC3825 integrated router features a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server, Network Address and Port Translation (NAT/NAPT) and a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall. These features allow the user to share a single high-speed public Internet connection as well as share files and folders between devices within the home network by attaching multiple wired and wireless devices in your home or office to the wireless residential gateway. Consumer-friendly features such as Wireless Protected Setup (WPS) and user-configured parental control can protect the home network from unwelcome intruders and family members from access to undesirable websites.
