Summary: I had this router for a bit over 2 years and without any warning it keeps disconnecting from FTP and social media servers, it does not disconnect from the net, just programs with no indication. People keep telling me I am signing in every 5 minutes. I changed routers and the problems stopped immediately.

Summary: Wireless connections keeps dropping (like others have seen). Called tech support and after 3 calls... it's better. Paying for 18mbs internet speed through my provider. I'm only getting 6-8 when connected through the router. Connected directly to the modem I receive 14 - 15. Called tech support AGAIN and they have no clue what to do.
Finally decided to give up and buy a new router!

Good small router.
by tea723 on November 4, 2011
Pros: Cheap and reliable, easy to set up, does not overheat (hello lynksys!). Easily runs small network (5-7 pc's, 2 tv's, wii, PS3, bluray player in my case).
Cons: None. Range is not pro, but not con either, unless you want your neighbors use your connection... If you want greater range take DIR-655.
Summary: Just a recommendation for any router:
Spend some time, go into router setup menu and assign specific IP address (using MAC addresses) for every computer/device that often connects to ...

Summary: Just a recommendation for any router:
Spend some time, go into router setup menu and assign specific IP address (using MAC addresses) for every computer/device that often connects to router and disable Computer browser service in Services menu (administrative tools) on all windows computers. It will help with computer to computer (and printer sharing) network connections a lot.

WORST ROUTER EVER!!
by mmj125 on September 22, 2011
Pros: NONE!!! No wonder it was on sale.
Cons: The signal is terrible even in a 600 sq ft apartment. It is extremely slow and my iphone drops the connection intermittently every 5 minutes.

Summary: Overall, a solid device. It's low cost and small size makes it an ideal addition to any urban "free the internet" toolkit, and it's ideal for setting up hotspots. Fast. Easily flashed, and once flashed, can perform a variety of tasks. Had a few issues - Kindle refuses to connect to it (when it's not wired into the main router, that is), but overall, it's a great little router. If you see it on sale, GRAB IT!
Worth every cent.

Mine works great!
by Basuto9 on August 30, 2011
Pros: I've had mine for about a year, and have had no problems - none. I only have one computer and one printer, so maybe that makes a difference - regardless, I'm certainly satisfied. In fact, I bought two (at $20 each), just to have a spare, but have not even
Cons: I have yet to experience anything I would qualify as a "Con". None - no Cons, guys (and no, I don't work for D-Link - I'd never heard of them until I decided to go wireless, looked around and found these on sale). I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 as I nev

Pros: Easy to set up out of the box. Very fast. Ran 3 streaming TVs at once off this.
Cons: There are none

Summary: Bought this product a few days ago. It provided 100 Mb/s on direct connect, but only 56 Mb/s for laptop with wireless connection and only 11 Mb/s for a desktop with PCI card. Not faster than my previous G router
I could not install it by myself, needed to call DLINK help desk.
Then I tried to printer sharing. (Printer was attached to my desktop), but could not access from other computers. Tried to fix it for 2 days,
called DLINK help desk. Then gave up, First level could not help, second level told me connect printer to USB port on router. (There is no such port). Then they told me they DO NOT support printer sharing!!!!
Do not buy DLINK again!!!!
