worst connection on the planet!
by lorickay on November 22, 2011
Pros: Absolutely none
Cons: While someone in my neighborhood has a Belkin that offers a connection everytime, this garbage Cisco product that I waisted money on is never available without having to unplug it first.Cisco customer"service" is atrocious as well.
Summary: I will NEVER do business with Cisco again. I'll go with a less expensive but better quailty Belkin or whatever else is available from now on. Bad customer "support" ...

Does not work with eMule.
by amishcyborg on September 24, 2011
Pros: Easy to use, high speed, great features. Excellent in every respect except that I cannot get a high ID in emule, which is the single most-important criteria to me.
Cons: You can't get a high ID with eMule with this modem. This probably means you can't use port forwarding for some other applications either.
Summary: No high ID in eMule.

by kailuaruggs on August 14, 2011

Cons: May not have enough power for a larger household.

Great router
by zoot956 on May 7, 2011
Pros: Installs itself with a minimum of hassle. Security is automatically setup when you install it from the CD provided. Lets you make an easy key on a flash drive to configure all computers on your network.
Cons: Only one speed, but O.K. for home users who are not data-instensive.

Summary: Even after ungrading firmware this router has poor performance issues and after only a week it started randomly dropping connections to devices on the network.Only solution is a router reboot. My advice is skip this router, and find something else. For a company who makes professional equipment, its hard to believe they can make such a weak router for consumers.

Summary: I purchased a Wireless N Router Model E1200. Drops connection all of the time. Hardly reaches 30 feet through just one wall in a single story home. Very cheaply made. Purchased in end of March and died in July. Linksys Tech Support said that they would not fix it or replace it regardless of the fact that I have been a loyal paying continuous custom for several years for both personal use & for my small business. Will NEVER purchase Linksys brand again due to one cheap router that could cost them $4 to replace. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT KEEPING LOYAL CUSTOMERS HAPPY!

Horrible speed - lots of frustration on the phone.
by johwils on May 8, 2012
Pros: Setup was easy if you're satisfied with the speed of a 56K modem.
Cons: Major bandwidth issues. Less than 1 mbps. Can't watch a YouTube video without latency. Tech support didn't have a clue as to what was wrong. No way to upgrade. Ended up giving it away and purchasing a Netgear 300N.
Summary: Won't be buying from Cisco/Linksys again any time soon.

Equipment quality marginal, tech support HORRENDOUS
by Checkerer on March 28, 2012
Pros: None that I can now remember
Cons: Tech support ignored reason I called & gave useless suggestions. Told me to disconnect power then said router had to be "reconfigured." Then blamed me & said MY power disconnect meant more "assistance" would require service account for $29. WHAT
Summary: Tried to take matter up with Cisco "customer service" but tech refused to provide contact info then finally gave me a phone number...for Comcast! Never ever again Cisco.

It's all about the firmware version.
by brjaffe on March 3, 2012
Pros: Excellent signal strength and range after upgrading firmware. Good performance for the price. Easy setup.
Cons: Out of the box without the firmware upgrade, the signal didn't reach very far.

Summary: Installed an E1200 (version 2) today in a medium sized two-bedroom New York apartment. Signal strength dropped off rapidly as I moved even to the next room. Upgraded firmware from 2.0.01 to 2.0.02 and did a factory reset to defaults before setting up WPA2 encryption. Immediately signal strength became consistent throughout the entire apartment, with no drop off in measured download and upload speed at all (using speedtest.net).
