Drops wireless connections, appalling tech support
by steve_ball on January 25, 2013
Pros: Nice color
Cons: Buggy firmware. Drops wireless connections daily and refuses to reconnect until rebooted. Waste of time. Bafflingly unhelpful tech support
Summary: Try a different manufacturer

Wireless is horrible. Very disappointing.
by per42a on September 5, 2011
Pros: Since i purchased this as a wireless router i would have to say there's not one pro to speak of.
Cons: This router is a total waist of money for wireless operations. Unless you want to get up, walk to the router, unplug the power, plug it back in multiple times each session I would steer clear of this router.
Summary: I have read posts that suggest this is a systemic problem with netgear. I will never purchase netgear products again. This was a total waist of money.

Summary: Had to call tech support because when I sent something to my wireless printer the internet would shut off. After tech support reconfigured the router the printing was ok, but internet is still slow. Thinking of returning the product and going back to the old Qwest router. I never had a problem with it. So much for trying to get faster.

Simple setup, hasn't missed a beat on Mac & PC network
by bwad69 on October 5, 2009
Pros: Took only a couple of minutes to setup, running both OSX and Vista machines off the network without a single hassle. Haven't had a single dropped signal or any problems since it set it up. Great value for money for a 802.11n capable router
Cons: Doesn't support dual band so slows down to 802.11g when the Windows laptop is on the network, doesn't slow the internet speeds down because g is still plenty fast enough for the internet connection, but would be a nice feature.
Summary: Can highly recommend this product. I was a bit nervous when I bought it as I hadn't read anything about it and the model I wanted wasn't in ...

Hard to use, drops out all the time
by dingo84 on August 18, 2009
Pros: Looks good, wired connection is flawless
Cons: Wireless is frustrating to use and compatibility between different devices is laughable. For some reason the wi fi randomly drops out. Total waste of money.

Easy setup and install no worries no hassel
by jjw185 on March 30, 2009
Pros: Sleek design... Software was easy to use. Everything was clearly marked. Has an On/Off switch instead of other routers were you have to yank out the power plug.
Cons: Wireless G range was shorter then I expected, but still pretty good. The router seems to get pretty hot. I will have to reposition it for it to run cooler.

Summary: This product it s good place to start if you want to go wireless with your DSL connection. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to get it to work. Setup was easy and it walks you thought the wireless sercurity settings. I would have liked it better if the antennas were bigger and longer and if the unit had more air flow vents so that is doesnt run so hot.
