Pros: - Easy to set up - SSL-VPN Works seamlessly - Dual WAN Failover works as promised - Performance is fast (very fast) - plays well with windows 7 32bit and 64bit OS as well as windows XP 32bit
Cons: - does not like Internet Explorer 9 32bit but loves the 64bit version - does not work with firefox 7 - must enable permission for unsigned active x controls for SSL VPN to download the files nessesary to open the VPN Tunnel - Port forwarding works slower

Summary: This Router was so easy to set up i did not even need the instructions. i was really suprised to see how easy it is to setup WAN Failover and SSL-VPN. i am not using all of the features on this router but it is a very good deal for the money. the performance is excellent. i would highly recommend. The vpn software is picky on browsers but there are alternatives. i am running version 2 of the hardware, my guess is the post before mone is version 1.
Cons: The VPN features don't work with 64-bit systems like Vista or Windows XP, including: SSL VPN, Netgear's IPSEC VPN client, and support for Microsoft's built-in VPN client. Netgear tech support says they have no plans to support 64-bit systems.
Summary: If you want to support newer PCs with 64-bit operating systems (such as systems with 4GB RAM or more), then I'd avoid the current set of Netgear VPN products.

Description:NETGEAR's ProSafe Dual WAN Gigabit Firewall with SSL & IPsec VPN offers the best of both worlds by offering two types of virtual private network (VPN) tunnels, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and IP security (IPsec), for optimal secure connection to your network. SSL VPN tunnels provide clientless remote access to your corporate data for individual access anywhere and anytime while IPsec VPN tunnels provide both secure site-to-site tunnels and legacy support for client-based remote access. Backed by a true firewall, this VPN router is a high-performance, SNMP-manageable, network solution that furnishes multidimensional security including denial-of-service (DoS) protection, stateful packet inspection (SPI), URL keyword filtering, logging, reporting, and real-time alerts. Four Gigabit LAN ports keep your data moving at top speed while two Gigabit WAN ports provide load-balancing and failover protection to ensure maximum throughput and reliable connectivity to the Internet. With Network Address Translation (NAT) routing and classical routing, up to 253 users can access your broadband connection at the same time.
