Stay away...at least for now.

Summary: I bought this device and returned it before the 30 day grace period. I wanted this device to work out but the negatives outweighed the positives. I purchased this device to replace my Verizon notebook card that I use for business travel. However, the device wouldn't hold a charge after being dormant for a couple days. When I did use it immediately after a charge, it would only last for 1-2 hours. Worst of all was that it would not work at all (even plugged in) unless it had at least 10% battery charge. This resulted in the device failing me at very important times when I needed to be connected for business. My recommendation would be to go with the 3g device, wait for a better 4g device, or stick with your notebook card for now.
One last note- When I called sprint to inquire about a fix or a battery replacement, they claimed that they did not support this device since I bought it at Best Buy. This was after I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with them. To make a long story short....I just took it back to Best Buy and cancelled my service. -
Flakey, drops connections, freezes.

Summary: I should have checked the Sprint forums before buying this: many problems reported there similar to mine. The main problem is, of course, that I get no 4G signal at home or at work. When I was able to get a single bar I was repeatedly redirected to a Sprint Day pass page to purchase 4G access, even though the device was supposed to be activated and my plan upgraded on leaving the store. Connection to the embedded http server seemed spotty; changes to configuration changes would not "take", when the device reboots it freezes often, requiring that the battery be popped out to reset it. The battery cover is flimsy, the two tabs that keep it on became mashed easily (what with all the battery cover removal to reset the darned thing) and now no longer stays on. Bottom line: I had an unlimited 3G plan with a novatel card. The overdrive would have been a convenient upgrade that I could have used wirelessly with more devices, but it just doesn't work. So, now I have an unlimited4G plan with no 4G connectivity and a cap on my 3g bandwidth so I'll end up paying more. It's just flakey and not ready for prime time. OH, and Sprint customer care was atrocious. Disconnected me twice; 2nd Tier support said they would call me back if that happened, but didn't.

it's great when it works
by bws2158 on September 8, 2011
Pros: it's fast and portable
Cons: it overheats and shuts off. it spends as much time cooling off as it does connected to the internet. then this morning, for no apparent reason, it died completely and won't turn back on.
Summary: pretty disappointed.
