The good: The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4620L by Novatel Wireless provides fast Internet access to up to 10 devices at a time, supports Wireless-N, and has many features. The compact router has long battery life, especially with the included double-capacity battery.
The bad: The Verizon Jetpack MiFi 4620L comes with expensive and limited data plans and doesn't support Wi-Fi Protected Setup, and there's no way to wake it remotely.
The bottom line: Business travelers will find the Verizon Jetpack MiFi 4620L an excellent companion thanks to its fast connection, nice set of features, and long-lasting battery. Its expensive and limited data plans, however, might steer casual users away.

Fast in metropolitan areas.

Pros: Removable battery, Display screen, works well so far within office buildings.
Cons: No user manual provided, or mention about charging methods other than use of electrical charger. Haven't found a way yet to display month to date usage data on the unit itself. Activation directions somewhat confusing.

Summary: It is still early in the game to adequately test this device out. It came on the market less than a week ago and I have used this unit for less than 3 days. So far in a large metropolitan city Verizon's 4G network seems to be driving this at speeds showing 13 meg download and 11 meg upstream. These speeds were tested using the 3rd gen Apple iPod indoors at a downtown restaurant. While the unit is easy to use, I experienced more issues attempting to activate it due to Verizon's automated telephone service pushing me to a human being who seemed to be at a loss as to how I was routed to her, and equally challenged by this new device. I ordered this unit at the Verizon web site and as it ended up she noted that it was already configured and activated and the entire call was unnecessary (although the packaged documentation said otherwise).
I like the fact that the unit gives you access to the battery although at this time Verizon is not selling a battery at their web site that extends run time. Others seem to be offering an after market battery that can extend run time but the Verizon documentation warns about using aftermarket batteries. No mention is made of using any other charging methods other than using the electrical charger that comes in the box.
Speaking of documentation, the unit only provides a quick start manual. You have to go to the web site for the real document that is about 75 pages long.

Only a step up from dial up and EXPENSIVE !!!!

Pros: Hmm....it's mobile?!
Cons: Speeds...0.18 mb at best..no 4 g coverages unless in a big city or major metro area

Summary: I live in central FL..I am only 9 miles from a big city( The villages,Bellview,Ocala)After being lied to by a centurylink phone company I went to Verizon wireless to get internet in my home.I bought this and was told from the best buy sales rep that he downloaded X amount of movies and such and NEVER reached the 10gb plan.Being I don't download movies, don't stream and am not a gamer, I thought this was a GREAT deal.Sadly ONE WEEK into my usual web browsing( facebook, google, etc..no videos because the internet through this wouldn't even play a 56 second video) I found that my data had been burned up PLUS used 17 gb MORE(at $10.00 a gig thats $170.00)This was in one week.Keeping in mind that I was told that the salesman used this to download movies I figured there must have been a glitch in the device.I called verizon and the rep said it must be losing the signal and redownloading the same files...Needless to say I have had this device for 26 days now and I have used 59GB of data and that is just regular web surfing. I have never seen 4g on this device and I have 1-3 bars of 3g at MAX.the speed I have tested has never been higher than 0.18mbps on speedtest.net and I am figuring monthly cost to be at or near $1,000.00....This is not for anyone who would use it in your home but I imagine it would be ok to check your mail on the go...do NOT watch any videos on here cause if you get to watch them they will burn up data faster than tissue paper in a propane grill.
