Great Product
by garyk92 on August 10, 2011
Pros: After using the Samsung Lte Mobile hotspot for 2 weeks it was a pleasure to trade that unit in for the Mifi Hotspot. It has a much stronger signal and does not lockup or lose it's signal or connection like the former unit I had. Only been using it for a
Cons: Some have complained about not being able to use this unit when charging with your laptop, but if you read the instructions, the usb cable is designed to update the unit, not charge it.
Summary: Highliy reccomend this unit. It is small, holds a decent charge and has great features.

Summary: I have had the device 5 days. Used it twice for two hour long skype calls, and my 4 gig ($60 month) plan is all used up. Not that I would have known that as the internet porthole where you can check your time is not set up. In fact I have called customer service every day about some problem with the device, each time they told me that I have used very little of my time. Until it ran out in the middle of an interview. Terrible service a waste of money. So if I return the device there is a $35 restocking fee, + the $35 activation fee, and $60 monthly usage. So the one and a half skype calls I got from the hot spot ended up costing $130.... what a rip off!

Summary: Feel like I need to defend this little unit. I'm now quite happy but I, too, was majorly disgusted because mine dropped out constantly even after installing the firmware fix. After 9 months I tried again:called verizon and they replaced it. Works like a charm now. They will honor the 1yr warranty, they just had some bad units.

Horrible product, awful service from Verizon
by ershaffer on February 26, 2012
Pros: Verizon investors keep you in their clutches
Cons: Unit barely works. Forced to switch to this unit from the old USB model, kicking me into another 2 year contract. Verizon claimed "firmware update" would fix it -WRONG! - will not take it back, wants to charge me $150 to buy myself out. Criminal.
Summary: Unless you want to pay Verizon for the privilege of being a product tester for their forays into novel technologies, avoid this mess and buy a phone with a hotspot.

Good with another flaw
by dhatdy58 on October 18, 2011
Pros: Works great for internet
Cons: as far as home networking, sending doc. to a printer or to
another computer using the MIFI as a router, Verizon counts that
toward your monthly usage even though the data never went to or
from the internet
Summary: It would have been nice to know this information first.

Basically great... with one major flaw
by nickaster on October 2, 2011
Pros: So the MiFi Works great. Frankly, I don't think it's hugely faster than my old 3G, but seems to be more reliable.
Cons: One MAJOR FLAW. Older models could be connected by USB which gave you a MUCH stronger signal but only for one laptop. This also charged the battery while you were using it. This device can only work in "hotspot" mode and requires you to drag a bulky po
