Constantly have to restart router, buggy firmware.

Summary: This router came recommended by a friend at work. Said it was the best router he ever used. That's some grade A BS right there. While this router is easy to set up on your standard plugging-it-in-to-a-modem setup, it's very difficult to find the right settings for anything advanced. Want to change the internet connection to PPPoE? Good luck. Want to reserve IP addresses, it won't display the whole list of DHCP clients, so good luck there too.
Also, it drops all wireless clients at least once a week. At least! I have to restart it to get everything to connect again and the webcams never get a truly stable connection. Just not good.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: This is the last Vizio product I will ever buy. They say they give you a warranty but it is not worth the paper it is printed on. These routers just do not last. If i did not buy the extended warranty I would have been out my money. From now on I will buy Cisco/Linksys.

Very good router
by rwhaley22859 on March 29, 2013
Pros: Easy set-up, haven't had to reset, my old router I had to reset twice a day. No problems with range, runs computer and media without buffering.
Cons: None so far at this time.

Great deal for the price I paid.
by pjrobar on November 1, 2012
Pros: Easy to set up and configure.
Doesn't drop connections or need to be reset regularly.
Dual Band, supports 3 networks: 5GHz, 2.4 GHz and a legacy/guest 2.4 GHz.
Pretty good range when used in a big, old house.Cons: Doesn't give access to low level settings and has limited configuration options.
USB sharing with R/W access limited to FAT32 formatted devices.
Lan switch is only 10/100.Summary: I paid $20 for a store demo model without a power supply. At that price it was a steal.

I want to give it a 5, but it freezes constantly.
by TommyThaGun on July 4, 2012
Pros: Easy to set up.
Looks nice.
Duel-band is nice.Cons: Settings are almost too simple. If you want to do more advanced things with it, good luck.
It freezes/overheats at least once a week. It probably needs a firmware update - it hasn't been updated as long as I've had the router, close to 6 months now.Summary: I wouldn't recommend it. It would be a 5 for almost all users if the firmware was updated/it didn't constantly need to be restarted.

Under consideration
by ron ostrowski on March 5, 2012
Pros: When it works, it is great.
Cons: I have had it for about 6 months. In the lat 4-6 weeks, the wireless signal drops off. I REBOOT by removing the power and then restarting. It has happened 3 times in the last month. Works great with my wireless Sony Blu-Ray.
Summary: A month ago I would have given this 5 stars. Perhaps it will be OK in the future.

This product is terrible. Do not waste your money

Pros: Works well with the Vizio Blue Ray player
Cons: Constantly drops internet. Students, don't waste your money. You are better off going to Starbucks to do your homework.

Summary: It works for very short periods of time. The Vizio customer service is useless. I have owned this router for 4 months. During that time I have been on the phone with customer service for 30 plus hours. They have sent me two routers and will not refund my money. Linksys is so much better. I have given up on this router and will be purchasing a new Linksys or Belkin router today. A friend of mine bought a Belkin within days of my Vizio purchase and has had zero trouble with it.
