The good: Excellent sound; easy to use; bright, readable display; 20 presets; home, car, and boombox adapters available.
The bad: Low volume output; long antenna; must subscribe to XM for $12.95 per month.
The bottom line: Delphi's affordable satellite-radio receiver and home-adapter kits deliver crystal-clear reception.
When it comes to satellite radio, apparently, the second time is a charm. The first receiver that we reviewed for XM Satellite Radio, the Sony DRN-XM01C, showed us the potential of satellite radio for the home and the car but came with such a limited and clunky feature set that we said no thanks. The Delphi XM SkyFi, however, has beautifully laid-out controls, great functionality, and a reasonable price; plus, it works equally well in the car, at home, or as a portable boombox (depending on which adapter you choose).

LOVE XM Radio - PROBLEMS with SkiFy Audio Boombox
Pros: I love the XM Radio in my vehicle. NEVER has any problems - GREAT reception,GREAT music
Cons: I have purchased 4 SkiFy Audio boomboxes to use with my receiver at home. I have had to return ALL 4. They have worked VERY shortly...then quit. The "ANTENNA" message comes up. My receiver is still getting satellite, but the antenna won't work. I have

Magnetic antenna not water resistant
Pros: Wonderful! Used it on a cross country trip and it was nice not to lose stations and also have the wide variety of selections.
Cons: The magnetic antenna sold with the unit is not water proof. Every time it rains I lose thye signal for a couple of days until it dries out. There is no second choice and worse yet, Delphi's only fix is to tell me to seal the antenna myself with silicon.

Pay for Radio?
Pros: Attractive apperance, easy to use, inexpensive
Cons: Too much reverb, casette adaptor pops out, this is only radio, why would I pat for radio when my car radio receives it free and it still sounds good, if I want more selection I plug in a cd or tape.

Magnetic Antennas not reliable
Pros: Satellite radio will spoil you.

Still needs perfecting...
Pros: Lots of diverse musical content! Receiver is of great quality.
Cons: XM needs to improve compression broadcast technology. It changes the orginal mix levels and they add WAY too much reverb in trying to cover up their poor compression broadcast technology.

Why pay for radio?????
Pros: If you are a cross country trucker you can listen to banjo music from Maine to Oregon
Cons: Why pay a monthy fee when radio is free. Cable television is suppose to be commericial free, but instead the companies are having there cake and eating it to. Why pay when it is already free. I hope that XM or whatever goes belly up!!!!!!!!!

XM ROCKS!
Pros: In march of 2004, i purchased this unit, along with the home kit, car kit and boombox. i have enjoyed crystal clear radio ever since! no more static like you get with FM! at first, I thought it was silly to pay 9.99 a month to listen to the radio, however

I'm junking my FM antenna.
Pros: Reasonably priced. Easy to install and use. Well designed. Easily PORTABLE. It goes wherever I go.
Cons: Delphi could have packaged the "kits" together so they don't run you a fortune. I have the Boom Box (which is kind of average) The home kit to plug easily into my stereo, and of course the car kit.

Why pay money for something thats free?
Pros: Latest technology.
Cons: Again, the marketing people are after your money. How much will you pay for something that used to be free? Do not buy this product. It will encourage others to make you pay for your radio listening. I remember when all TV and radio was free.
