Pros: Small - Easy Installation
Cons: None that I can think about right now

I found that searching for an FM station to tune into was hard for me, so I purchased a cassette adapter and have the signal going through my tape deck. It sounds like CD quality if your car has a tape deck and I recommend installing it this way.
I was very surprised that the most inexpensive Sirius receiver has such great quality. -

Summary: my 1st satellite radio, price of $19.99 swayed me to this unit. small size like a radar detector. works great in the pickup truck and i even mount it on the motorcycle. my biggest gripe is the presets do not save when the unit is powered off - are you sirius?!!
Updated
FIXED!
after emailing customer support they directed me to re-send the activation signal. after doing that the unit went into 'update' mode, now everything works as advertised.
i give an 11 star rating, customer support answered quickly and i had the unit working right away! -

Pros: Compact receiver; excellent FM tuner; quick installation.
Cons: Can only program 5 FM channel presets; Small buttons implies you cannot change to a specific channel when driving.

Summary: I have a CD changer in my car with no AUX input. Having read reviews all over CNEt for other products, I was a little skeptical about using a radio that would transmit to my FM channels. With some trepedition I purchased this -- it was the lowest cost unit at BestBuy.
Installation mainly involves installing the antenna on the car roof, and running a wire from the antenna to the radio. This wasn't an issue: no tools required. The antenna has a powerful magnet that allows it to stick to the roof. It can also be stuck to the roof with the powerful stickers provided. I installed it about 6 inches from the rear window on the roof top. I ran the wire around the window, through the boot and the rear seat, all the way to the front of the car. The wire is very thin, so it can run from outside the car into the boot without any hassles (just open the boot, drop the wire in and shut the boot). The wire was long enough to run below the mats - and hence could be concealed easily.
The radio unit can be installed using suction mounts (what I used), or a couple of other ways -- including using a velcro fastner. The blue screen complemented my dash lights.
I used this in Manhattan as well as across the river in West New York, Palisades, Weehawken and Hoboken (all in New Jersey). This is an area where Spanish and English radio stations compete with each other for each and every channel (or almost for every channel). There was some static in some portions of these areas -- nothing I could not live with. On most areas, including the New Jersey Turnpike and the I-95 till Northern Virginia, except for very brief periods of static -- the quality was better than FM ! I specifically found 94.9 FM channel to be the least used in all of these areas (may not be true for everyone).
The buttons are too small -- so it is almost impossible to select a specific channel when driving. However, you can preset about 20 channels -- so that helps.
The remote is very useful for the passenger side -- though my wife keeps changing back to music from NPR against my wishes.
Overall a compact, small unit that gets the job done -- though if you are looking for more features such as ability to navigate easily or read a lot more information about a channel etc. , then this is not for you. -
does it's thing...well.

Summary: great way to get in to satellite radio...it does what it does, gives you quality sirius satellite in a small package for a small price...setup is quick and easy...only small issue is that you really have to use the remot to operate the unit, and you do have to run wires, but it's really a nonissue but i guess i just look forward to the day the antenna somehow works wirelessly (think bluetooth)- perhaps i'm dreaming...great purchase gave me exactly what i was looking for - great commercial free music and of course the king.

Great, cheap way to get the Stern show
by stern4evr on February 11, 2006
Pros: price and portability

Summary: First, let me tell you I had XM hard-wired into my Pioneer deck for about 4 years. When Howard Stern announced he was switching over to Sirius, I immediately cancelled XM and prepaired for service. With my job, I am walking around for a good 6 hours a day, so I wanted something portable. I saw Sirius came out with a "portable" receiver, the s50. I looked at it, and I learned it didn't have a live feed! It doesn't even come with a docking station. So, basically, it is just a high-priced ($330!!) ipod. I relented and got the sirius one, which is a vehicle-only receiver.
