  Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick is AWESOME!

  Pros: Simple to install, easy to use. Captures Brilliant HD programming off air from either antenna or Cable directly into computer hard drive of choosing. Works seamlessly with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 software. Records programs w/out opening program.

  Summary: On a recent visit to Atlanta Falcon?s Training camps, I met the technical crew from their video department. They suggested I switch to Pinnacle. ?Pinnacle is the standard in the NFL? they said. Well that got my attention! I came home and started researching Pinnacle and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 software and Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick. Both work in unison to provide effortless video editing and handled our HD shows perfectly!
  
  The Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick was another dream come true! Imagine an HD plug in play/record mini stick that captures full HD programming off antenna or cable and plugs directly into your USB port. YES!! Plus, this software captures my daily HD broadcast and does it even while the program is closed. (which means I don?t have to have the program running to record television?I schedule a daily recording and the Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick automatically records my shows and stores them in my designated hard drive for later viewing or editing. BRILLIANT!!) I was completely set up in less than 5 minutes!!
  
  Another wonderful feature of the Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick: I am time shifting directly from my computer all my favorite television shows! Yes, I can pause, rewind live television and all without a monthly subscription service fee!!
  
  And oh yeah, the price?AMAZINGLY AFFORDABLE!! (Thank you for fair pricing Pinnacle because times are tight.)
  
  Pinnacle, why didn?t I discover you sooner!!!!

  Poor product reliability and PATHETIC customer service

  Pros: The one time the PCTV card worked it gave an amazing quality picture
  That's about it...all downhill from there.

  Cons: After the one time the card worked it would not scan for any channels
  As I stated earlier...the WORST customer service
  No attempts to assist or fix the problem
  The software is pathetic and does not work
  Technical support is non existent

  Software Cripples It

  Pros: small, travel bag, apparently good quality physical parts

  Cons: Software is unstable on XP or Vista, Pentium or Quad Core. Slow start-up, prone to hanging, invades the system tray, and rarely sustains for a full hour-long program.

  Summary: If you want a reliable tuner, don't buy this product. I got it for my old Pentium XP system, and it was a roll of the dice whether I could successfully launch the program, whether it would pick up any digital channels, and whether I could make it through even a half-hour program w/out the program hanging at commercial. I hoped it would perform better on my new quad-core Vista64 system, but there's no change.
  
  I hope reception at least would be more reliable w/ a cable input, but if I subscribed to cable tv, I don't know why I would be using this device. I'll definitely avoid software by this company in the future, and I'll probably avoid PC accessories at Best Buy, as this company is the only tuner option they offered and quality is clearly not a consideration.
