Very cheap, but seems slow for writing

Summary: It seems to me that these cards are slower to write pictures than other SD cards. I got a few because they were so cheap (something like $30 at Fry's for two cards -- $15 each) and I was going on vacation. I often almost missed shots because I was waiting for the last shot to finish writing to the card. I don't know if there are benchmarks out there, but it is worth checking before buying -- but these are a great value for the price especially if you don't care about speed.
