2009 BMW 750Li price range: $84,200.00
- Reviewed by: Wayne Cunningham
- Reviewed on: 07/09/2009
The good: BMW loads the 2009 750Li with useful driving electronics such as a head-up display, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The navigation system features lush topographical maps with live traffic. iPod and phone integration are both excellent. The car's suspension and power train can be set for different modes, including sport and comfort.
The bad: Poor fuel economy sticks the 750Li with a gas guzzler tax. Blind-spot warning lights aren't bright enough. The night vision display's placement impinges on the system's usefulness.
The bottom line: The 2009 BMW 750Li delivers impressive tech features on all fronts, helping justify its high price. It offers the best cabin tech package among its competitors.

Interior is incredible.
by dove-7 on July 10, 2009
Pros: Incredible interior. It's like being inside a movie theater or high end private jet. Blue tooth for phone, navigation (map) is awesome and the dvd for the back is a must to see.
Cons: Can be a bit too much of a car. Not cheap in price. The outside is cool. But the interior outshines it. Gas, it's not for the I want a car because I have the credit to buy. High maintenance and bills.
Summary: The Li car is an excellent car. I had never been inside a BMW period until my uncle purchased the Li 3 years ago. Sadly, he couldn't afford it ...
Summary: The Li car is an excellent car. I had never been inside a BMW period until my uncle purchased the Li 3 years ago. Sadly, he couldn't afford it and had t get rid of it. But it's is indeed a nice ride on the highway and the interior feels like your in your entertainment room watching dvd. Yes, it's just that good inside. And the Cnet review doesn't exaggerate when they state that the back seat is the place to be. Watching movies back there is incredible. But there are other cars that rival the interior while at the same time have a better looking exterior. Caddy 2009 CTS is one of those cars. I will at the Lexus version of this car. Lord knows that they look alike on the outside.

Good car, but bad BMW support & maintenance experience.
by AVL_AVG on July 11, 2009
Pros: I owned 750 IAL. My experience is good & bad. Very good car, except for support & maintenance from BMW. The performance is very good, the driving conditions and interior are very nice & was a pleasure owning, until my closer experience with B
Cons: Experience= no parts available= missing car for 1 to 2 weeks as parts are German based. Also BMW support very bad. After maintenance, my car burned w/i 10' on motorway. Dealer said they left cloth on engine. BMW offer 728 -15% to replace my 750IAL??
Summary: My experience = good car, good performance, but bad BMW support and maintenance, due to lack of parts which need always to be ordered out. BMW does not support its customers ...
Summary: My experience = good car, good performance, but bad BMW support and maintenance, due to lack of parts which need always to be ordered out. BMW does not support its customers when things go bad, caused by its fault, they tend to cover up for each other, dealer & BMW. Unfortunate attitude, that pushes these potential customers into the direction of Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lexus atl.. . As a bonus the potential buyer gets better value for the money and better resales value when Bentley, RR or Lexus is bought.

Fun car except for the shifting & hesitation on startup
by bluebyu20 on July 2, 2010
Pros: Technology, performance, ride, and space
Cons: Inherent transmission & hesitation on startup is a problem. Apparently, BMW had to create the problem to get the gas mileage needed

by tortillaman09 on December 15, 2009

Summary: Great Car love it to death but if they don't switch their interiors and so on i might go with the highly innovative AUDI

Try the competition first
by paindoc66 on July 13, 2009
Pros: Great styling, twin turbocharged engines and the most comfortable driving position in class.
Cons: During my test drive the hesitancy of the engine and no true difference between electronic settings were disappointing.

Summary: If you read any automobile magazine, despite new engine and great specs, the driving experience falls short. The good news is for tuners reflashing the ECU and bumping up the boost on those turbos would be a good fix. This will take time to develop and may void warranty. Eventhough this is cnet and is testing car "tech," many of these technologies are already available in the competition and for me they're overkill. Plus, cnet rated the ipod music experience as mediocre. Why than does it receive an "editor's choice?" The driving experience BMW tries to create with their automobiles is lost in this rendition. After test driving both this and the S550, there is no comparison.

Confused by CNET review
by Walter_Stevens on August 20, 2009
Pros: Discrepancy in the cons...
Cons: 1. Poor fuel economy sticks the 750Li with a gas guzzler tax (the video says that it AVOIDS the tax) 2. We could also plug a USB drive with MP3 tracks into the same port used for the iPod cable (the clip says you must use the glove compartment port)
