The good: The EcoBoost engine in the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO turns in blistering acceleration, while sport suspension elements and standard all-wheel-drive keep the car steady in the corners. Sync delivers excellent phone and MP3 player support while Sirius Travel Link makes traffic reports and gas prices available.
The bad: With its high sides, judging the size of the Taurus SHO from the driver's seat can be difficult. Its bulk makes it less than nimble in turns.
The bottom line: The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO combines an impressively fast, cutting-edge engine with cabin tech that is still ahead of the competition--even after appearing in Ford cars for a year already.
Super silky, very responsive, great fit and finish.

Pros: Immediate response to gas peddle, fabulous sport handling without hard feel from some competitors, Mercedes-like quality and solid feeling build, SYNC
Cons: Front seats are a little bit short for larger drivers

Summary: Some people who haven't had the opportunity to drive the new Taurus may have a tough time wrapping their minds around a domestic auto with this much quality and engineering, but a few minutes behind the wheel will quickly change that misconception. Quick immediate response to modest pedal pressure makes the Taurus easy to pull into traffic. Steering is crisp and precise. It handles like a much smaller and lighter car, but the build quality is so solid you'd swear you're riding in a German luxury sedan. To be honest, I'm amazed that a domestic manufacturer can build vehicles of this high quality and performance. I drove it with two friends of mine, and we were all amazed. There's no hint of compromise anywhere, which we've all grown accustomed to seeing in American cars. I'm 6'3" and the driving position was excellent. A/C and heat in the seats, SYNC, all wheel drive, gorgeous exterior, rear sun screen, adjustable cupholders, navigation, 6 speed transmission, 365 hp...these are all extras for a well balanced vehicle with fantastic fit and finish. I've had 3,5, and 7 series BMWs as well as several Mercedes, and this car rivals anything I've ever driven or owned. Welcome back to the game, Ford!

No other car compares for the cash
by Mrsims1103 on August 2, 2009
Pros: The new ford taurus is in a class by itself you cannot compare this with a camry or accord because it is much larger and has technologies that they don't offer. The taurus is fast and agile for it's size and weight. I love this car, see it to believe
Cons: I have no cons as of yet but time will tell. people can't give honest experienced reviews because they haven't arrived at the dealer yet only a few demos.
Summary: Please don't make up fake reviews for a car you have not driven or seen this is a great car I have seen it not drove but I can ...

Summary: It seems that in a struggling economy, the folks at Ford are making the right decisions. Other auto companies are seeing layoffs and struggling stock prices, but it appears as though the Taurus is another step into a secure future.
The '10 Taurus is a good looking car, it really is. Aggressive enough to satisfy a family man, but roomy and luxurious enough to satisfy the soccer mom. It's not a minivan, but if a sedan will fit the bill, American car buyers will be giving this one a good, hard look.
I don't like the sticker being over $40k. People realize now that cars just shouldn't cost this much new, and its really pricing itself out of most people's budgets,
(which they need to remember... are suffering too.)
The looks and the specs (with the exception of the MPG rating) make me want one, or at least to check this one out... but the sticker price is that huge reminder that we're not ready to look at a new car purchase.

Great combination of size, comfort, performance & price
by barnyr on September 17, 2011
Pros: A pleasure to drive. The SHO is very comfortable, has lots of tech, room for 4 adults, and is FAST.
Cons: Transmission is tuned more for performance than luxury. 2010 SHO only comes with black interior. Would have preferred more color choices.
Summary: Great sport luxury sedan. Compared to similar priced luxury vehicles, almost nothing else comes near the performance. To get this performance you need to look at much more expensive vehicles. ...

First American Car in 20 years.

Pros: I read all of the reviews on CNET to assist my decision to purchase SHO - so I'm adding my review for others who may consider this vehicle. BMW buyer for years. Fit & Finish - as good as any car I've owned. Cabin - quiet and well-appointed.
Cons: No daytime running lights - a major misstep from Ford. Smart key entry does not allow for much accessory time with engine off. Could do without deck lid 'spoiler'.
Summary: This car isn't a BMW, but that's not all bad. I like the quieter, smoother ride. Ironically, last American car was a 1990 Taurus, which was 'OK'. I ...
Summary: This car isn't a BMW, but that's not all bad. I like the quieter, smoother ride. Ironically, last American car was a 1990 Taurus, which was 'OK'. I believe Ford has stepped up its quality to compete with anything on the road for considerably less money. Still getting used to Sync, but loving SAT and NAV systems. the SONY radio is easily the best I've ever had - AM/FM in HD surround sound - excellent. Still not broken in, but I can tell you this car in spite of its weight is FAST. I don't think I made a mistake with this purchase.
Just purchased mine- WOW

Summary: I am a big tall guy- and I am comfortable in this ! (I was'nt as much in the Cadillac CTS, or MKZ, or even the Edge. ) I agonized over Cadillac CTS, SRX, Acura RL, Lexus, Lincoln, and others. My biggest concern (I am an urban and suburban driver) was the length of the car-its the same length as a Toyota minivan- worried it was too big. To my delight it handles amazingly well- it's no minivan. Parking and handling is excellent. I had an SUV and was looking for a nice upscale sedan. I was not really expecting to buy one and after driving it and looking at it close up, I decided- why not. My advice- Try it- its really great. The technology is outstanding and the feature list long.
This is a fun, powerful and very stable car to drive.

Pros: Power, styling, gas mileage.
Cons: Price. It should be under $40 000
Summary: If you can afford one, buy it, you will not regret it.

Former Two-time Acura TL owner; now a SHO fan
by Busfullofnuns on December 28, 2010
Pros: 3.5L twin turbo; AWD; interior fit & finish (Acura made me a snob about this)and interior ergonomics (sounds, etc); stereo; Jekyll and Hyde combo ----- you can drive normally around town and hwy, but push the accelerator, and the beast arrives.
Cons: MPG (but if I want mileage, I would have bought a hybrid); Seats should come up behind knees (but all cars are that way now); Possible resale value.

Summary: First off, I had to get over the Ford stigma. My father worked for Ford, so growing up, that's all we owned. Bought my first after college ---- major POS. Went to Honda, graduated to Acura. Figured I drive 35K a year, was going to enjoy it. Hve owned an '03 Acura TL Type S and a '06 Acura TL; loved them both. Went to look at the '10 TL, and was in shock!!!!! Starting at $35K (invoice) and climbing to $43K in an AWD. My friend mentioned the SHO so I went to take a look, just for reference. In the first few minutes of being shown the car, I was having a difficult time playing the "tough buyer" role. WOW! I knew I had to have it. Drove it home that day.
For those nay-sayers about bang for the buck --- all the cars referred to in these posts are $50K machines (BMW M#, Infinity G37X with equal ameniteies, etc. ) Bluetooth, AWD, HP, sound deadening materials, .....for the $35K price, I dare anyone to find the equal.
Great Car You'll love all the attention!
by mr_xena on September 4, 2010
Pros: Comfort, Quality, Size, Price & Tech
Cons: MPG & It was hard to find a model at the dealer with all the options you are looking for with out having to have one brought in... I setteled for the 2011 Limited minus the mirror sensors that I really wanted as well as the push button start.

by Pat Bonnar on May 17, 2010
Pros: backup camera cruise control slows car, flashing led alerts .
gas price locator comfortable seats The jukebox loads your cd collection. Bluetooth downloads my phonebook.
Cons: have had the car for seven months and still have not used the voice activation. The features are so numerous that it takes time to learn all the cars tricks. The steering wheel control for ajusting the wheel is too stiff.
