2011 Hyundai Sonata SE price range: $22,595.00

The good: The Sonata's optional navigation system features traffic with automatic rerouting. Bluetooth connectivity with audio streaming is standard, as are USB, iPod, and analog audio inputs. The voice command system is quite good, with onscreen prompts for valid commands.
The bad: No manual transmission available on this "sporty" SE model. Navigation maps don't feature a 3D view.
The bottom line: The 2011 Hyundai Sonata is a great value, packing in a strong assortment of standard and optional cabin tech, good looks, and performance, all while maintaining a relatively low price.

Excellent styling, great interior. Value for Money.
by vgaddam on September 17, 2010
Pros: Got a GLS with Popular package and Navigation. Very satisfied with the performance of the car and especially like to easy to use Navigation system with voice commands. Handles very well and the interior is very roomy and well done.
Cons: None so far. Will come back to update if any down the line.
Summary: Navigation is a MUST. Enhances the appeal of the console and is a pleasure to use with voice commands, phone/ipod integration. Screen is crisp and clear and voice commands ...

YOU CAN'T SNEAK AROUND TOWN IN A VENITIAN RED SONATA!
by 66monza on September 4, 2010
Pros: this is my 4th new hyundai, and with every purchase, hyundai tech and style leaps by decades beyond honda, toyota, .
Cons: took some time to get used to the new VERY SENSITIVE steering. ended up in the body shop the 1st week due to my "over steering." as with every other hyundai, i can wash the car, and 4 hours later roll the window down and it will still be wet.

Summary: my complaints are minor and petty compared to what i have experienced with purchasing a new toyota in the past.. i will not stray from hyundai service and warranty. there was a time when i knew all hyundai employees by name, but in recent years, i have to look for a reason to take my car in for service since the autos are so trouble free. MY CAR WAS BUILT IN AMERICA BY AMERICAN WORKERS!

Better than the other 'usual suspects'

Summary: I traded in my 13-year-old Camry for a Radiant Silver GLS. I drove all of the mid-sized contenders and everything kept bringing me back to the Sonata. Camry is dull, Accord is too much of a beast for its 172-HP 5-speed in LX trim, Fusion's buttons are too small, Malibu felt like I was in a tomb. This car is quick, spacious, has great road manners, and is well worth the $18K I paid for it.
Nuff said. If you're in the market for a new vehicle, do yourself a favor and take one for a spin!1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Watch out Toyota and Honda. Hyundai is on your bumper!
by jjamest on July 2, 2010
Pros: The styling, paint job, AC and roominess for the price. This car is more attractive than Mazda M6, Corolla and Altima and costs thousands less than all of them.
Cons: I wish I had opted for the navigation system, manual transmission and sunroof! The 3 things that stop me from being totally content with this car yet, they are all available on Sonata, just not where I bought mine.

Summary: If I didn't really need a car imediately when I bought my 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS, I would have waited for the coming Turbo charged model with all the creature comforts and more power. I thought I could settle for an automatic transmission but I'm just not there yet. This is an impressive car with imposing good looks and decent pick up for a 4 banger. I've only had it a week, but so far, I'd definitely recommend it to a friend. I bought it on a 100 degree day and the AC did not disappoint me during the text drive. Cruise control, XM satelite and regular radio on the steering wheel help keep my eyes on the road and not fumbling for knobs while I drive. The dash and console are well laid out without that cheesy, heavily use of plastic found in many other cars in it's class. The stereo and 6 speaker system sounds really awesome and I can't wait to hook up my ipod and bluetooth. There is a bit more road feel than I would like and I think this could improve with the right set of tires. All in all, this is a decent, attractive car with reasonable head turning quotient that is worth the money and should compete well in today's tough economy. Good job Hyundai, you've finally impressed me.

Great Car for the coin

Summary: I drive a 300C and have now rented the Hyundai Sonata GLS 2 times for road trips. I find the vehicle excellent. It drives and handles very well, rides well, and I find the power more than enough for most everyone unless you love to race. The car accelerates at highway speed very well and will cruise at 80=90mph all day with little noise.
Only issue I found with the car compared to my 300C is more road noise than I'm use to and there is some hard plastics where my arm likes to rest. But again, this is the base Sonata I rented not the limited or SE version.
I like it much better than the Malibu in handling, room, ride, power and drivetrain smoothness and features. I would only give the nod to the Malibu for being quietier.
In the end, for me I would have one over my 300C if there was a turbo version available.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Misleading warranty
by ronbialek on October 25, 2012
Pros: Nice looking car.
Cons: Hyundai does not stand behind its product and its warranty advertisements are VERY misleading. After 21,500 miles, my drive belt shredded for no reason and Hyundai claims that this is normal wear.
Summary: There have been exhaust problems, parts becoming loose, and now my drive belt shredding experience. This car looks far better than it runs. Hyundai's warranty sounds much better than ...
