Pros: Can be bought for a reasonable price, great quality...the cabinets are very good looking. The sound is amazing at this price.
Cons: Not a "lifestyle" type system may be somewhat obturusive as they are rather large speakers.

Summary: I picked up a new set of these after going to purchase a new center channel speaker for my pieced together system. I have slowly but surely pieced this system together on a budget. Always a fan of floor-standing speakers, I replaced some older Cerwin Vegas with these beauties. I have an older HK AVR 225 hooked up in 6ch direct from a Panasonic Blu-Ray and let me tell you- THE CLARITY IS AMAZING! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the whole set after I heard how these sounded in the room, I splurged and got the center and omni-directional surrounds- WOW! Hell yes! This is money well spent and will give me years of listening enjoyment, I really can't believe I spent that much after holding off for years, but I'm glad I did. I spent around $320 for the 2 fronts, $160 for the center and another $160 for the surrounds. I was an installer once upon a time and did many high end systems for several K.C. Chiefs players and other semi-celebrity types as well as the HTIB for your average joe. I can't remember ever hearing a system that compares to what I have and this was all accomplished at less than $1000 and....I got free 36 month financing. WINNING....DUH!
Pros: Sound quality, amazing highs, easy to hook up
Cons: non-detatchable speaker grills

Summary: The new Klipsch Icon VF-35s are in one word, AMAZING! I have had these for about two months now, and I don't have any complaints, except that the speaker grills aren't removable. The sound quality is exceptional. The new Tractrix horns are incredible. They deliver pristine clear highs. The mids and lows are also excellent. When I listen to music, I turn my sub off because these give enough bass to sound just right. I have them hooked up to an Onkyo SRT 800. Great receiver if you're looking. I couldn't more pleased with a set of tower speakers for this price. Of course, I got mine at Best Buy and one of the sales reps messed up, and I got them for $200 each. Good luck finding a deal like that! After hearing them in my house though, I would have gladly paid the retail $399 each. I owned a pair of Polk tower speakers before this, and they didn't even come close to these, and yet they cost almost the same amount.
The decision is quite simple if you ask me. If you are looking for high end quality sound, from a trusted manufacturer that delivers and puts their name behind everything they make, choose these. Or you could go with their big brothers, the VF-36s, which I am very tempted to get. You won't be dissappointed if you chose the VF-35s!
