Sony is AMAZING

Pros: Great speakers for under $200
Cons: Box that is shipped in is huge and scary

I went online looking to find affordable speakers to replace my old Advent Prodigy speakrs of close to 20 yrs.
I ordered them blindly not knowing what I was going to get.
I get this huge box to my home. I almost flipped out . You could stuff a small village in it . Sony packed them up real well so the came out in mint shape.
Compared to my advent speakers they are only a little bit bigger.
I hooked em up and I was in shock.
I have an old technics receiver rated at 100 watts per channel.
These speakers are rated at 180 watts which is cool.
I've been running them for a few months now and I am totally happy with them.
The range whether listening to rock, pop ,opeara, classical, jazz, metal, or watching dvds is great.
For under $200 if you can find a 4 Way speaker then let me know

Pros: Good range of highs, mids, and base. Clean and clear sound

Summary: Very happy with these speakers. The sound is almost as good as the very expensive POlk Audio speakers on my entertainment system. I had to upgrade my home system with a new receier because of HDMI on my blueray player and didn't want to give up my older Sony 5.1 receiver. Bought the speakers from Amazon for $119 shipped. Added a Sony turntable to the mix along with my HD sat receiver in another room. The sound is great, and I really did miss those old LP's from years gone by.

Great sounding speakers. Good highs and mids, no sub so low is not really experienced.
Hardware:
Very well built. The wood is real wood, and not faux wood. The plugs in the back are mounted half way up/down with gold shielding. I'm using banana plugs with 16 gauge wiring. Nothing cheap that I've seen really.
Sound:
(Depending on your own source) Blu rays sound very fulfilling with treble adjustment, lows/bass not very moving as there are no dedicated subs. Everyday TV, and sports sound great. I placed the speakers about 3.5 ft from the TV each side, Total of about 11 feet apart and I found this to be the best place for full room experience. Music sounds great unless you're into jazz and rock, the low freq. wont really show up.
Other notes:
The front mesh can be removed if you dont like it, it gathers dust like any other easily and the material can tear easily as well.
