The second generation 1.2 is built with an aluminum enclosure to significantly improve clarity and dynamics, and is 20 percent smaller in size than it's predecessor, making it much less visible and easier to integrate into your home. Using the same high quality components and innovative engineering techniques used the floor-standing and bookshelf models, such as coaxial/coplanar driver mounting, ultra-low distortion motor systems, aluminum diaphragms, and phase coherent crossover design, the two-way PowerPlane 1.2 is a true high performance in-wall speaker for listeners who wish to have great sound in every room of their home. The PowerPlane 1.2 can be used as front, center, or rear-channel speakers in home video, music, and multichanel systems. They can also be used alone or in pairs throughout the home in bedrooms, kitchens, bath, and offices for outstanding sound everywhere. Its subtle, architectural design and paintable surface integrates well with almost any home decor. Unlike many conventional, backless in-wall loudspeakers, the PowerPlane 1.2 is self-enclosed with an aluminum cabinet. This design feature is very important for sonic excellence as it prevents unwanted vibration from the cabinet itself and from being transferred to the room's walls, which would obscure detail and color the sound. The PowerPlane 1.2 can be mounted horizontally or vertically in walls, ceilings, and enclosed cabinets.
