The good: The Verizon iPhone 4 offers a hot-spot feature not available on AT&T's device. Performance was better in most regards.
The bad: The Verizon iPhone 4 lacks world roaming and the ability to access voice and data simultaneously. The hot-spot feature didn't work with all devices.
The bottom line: The Verizon iPhone 4 has much in common with its AT&T counterpart, but varying features and different performance give it enough room to stand apart. It won't vastly change your iPhone experience, but we welcome the consumer choice that it brings.

Absolutely Amazing!
by juici1 on February 21, 2011
Pros: Design, Excellent Reception, Better call Qaulity then my Bold, Usewr friendly OS, 5 meg Camera with HD, Fun to Use and not lame like my blackberry!
Cons: None so far! I havent experienced and dropped calls or signal issues.

Summary: I was hesitant in purchasing this phone because of all these bs reviews about dropped calls and antena issues. The truth is those issues are carrier issues and have nothing to do with the iphone itself. I am up in Canada on the bell network and I havent experienced 1 dropped call which is odd because my blackberry usually dropps a couple calls a day.
P.S.
I have owned my iphone 4 for 2 weeks now and it is amazing. The OS is fun and simple to use. everything you need to access for quik responce to emails is on the home screen just like a blackberry. The browser is amazing the same as using a full browser. The camera on this phone is the best I have ever seen on any smart phone. it takes better pictures then my Sony digital camera and did I mention it does video recording in 720p. Don't listen to the negative reviews about this phone it's apple hating b.s. You will not be disssapointed with this phone just make sure you choose the right Carrier that has good reliable network coverage.

Don't use the apple iphone 4 bumper case! I just noticed that the hard plastic rim inside the bumper case has gouged the edge of the steel band on and near the corners. Its to bad kinda liked the case. Its also a bummer that you can only video call over wifi but still luv the my iphone.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

This Phone is Awesome
by rayerins on February 17, 2011
Pros: Ok, it's my first smartphone so maybe I'm too easily impressed. I've had it for four days and already I can't imagine life without it. It's always fast and easy to check my e-mail, stocks, and look up info; it works great for traditional phone...
Cons: The only con is that given how much I use it I wish the battery-life was longer. I don't know if any other smart phones are better on this, but I have a feeling part of it is that I'm constantly on the internet
Summary: pros cont... traditional phone uses (calling and texting). I've only begun to explore the apps but so far there's dragon dictation that converts your voice to texts or ...
Summary: pros cont... traditional phone uses (calling and texting). I've only begun to explore the apps but so far there's dragon dictation that converts your voice to texts or e-mails which is awesome not just for communication but also reminders to myself and even getting back into keeping a journal. The CNBC app is awesome for real-time quotes, and fastfood seems like it will be great for finding restaurants when I'm in unfamiliar areas.
I've never owned an apple product before this and always found Macs insanely difficult to use, but this phone is just awesome. It's definitely a life changer. I'm sure some Android phones are also great but since it's basically the same price why not go with the best1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Waited until Big V got it. It was worth the wait
by bigjoewok on February 16, 2011
Pros: The apps are great, its a polished product. But best of all the call quality is better than any phone that I have owned.
Cons: I would give it 4.5 stars but the internet connection is a little slow. Wifi is great.
Summary: For us this is the perfect phone. I didn't want to wait the next version because I don't really have a heavy data usage. LOVE IT!

Summary: I was going to say all the wonderful things about the iphone 4 from Verizon (which there are) but decided to touch on the issues I have. These are small issues but issues nun the less and concern you privacy and phone function.
1. Say someone wants to see your phone for what ever reason. Once you hand it to them they can go, do and see everything. This means your pictures; text messages and contacts are open to their browsing. You can lock the phone but not applications with the software that comes with the phone. This means the person you just handed your phone to can see it all. You can get apps. to lock you pictures but not for text messages or contacts. Say some one walks buy and picks up your phone and wants to be nosey, again they can see all unless you lock it.
2. You can't just buy any app. it has to be apple approved. While this does mean Apple has made sure it will work with your phone. That also means there are tons of other third party and Droid based apps. that you can never use. Oh, you can JACK or PIRATE (I think their called) your phone to enable you to get those other apps. but that will void your warranty.
3. When your phone is in sleep mode or not in sleep mode and someone texts you, it will pop up on the screen with the name you have assigned to them or just their phone number. There does not seem to be a way to stop this or just have it alert you that you have "1 message". You can put the phone into Airplane Mode to stop the pop-ups but then you will not receive them until it is turned off.
4. Say you are on the phone with someone and another person sends you a text. Unless you tap to read or dismiss the text, the little window will not go away. If you go to end your conversation you still have to read or dismiss the text window before you can end the call.
5. When you phone goes to sleep and you and wake it up, it tends to be on the last thing you were doing. It should go back to the "home screen". This tends to happen when you used the main apps. like phone, text messenger and such. The phone app. should open up to the dial pad, not the last person I called or my contacts.
6. Personally, I wish the phone was about ½ inch narrower.
Well, here are my main issues. If I am wrong or missing some trick on fixing the issues please feel free to comment. I hope this has helped at least a few of you. :-)1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Love my Verizon Iphone so far
by UFGatorCPA on February 12, 2011
Pros: Converted from Sprint Blackberry 8330 and couldn't be happier. Verizon reception has been great, battery life is better than expected and no dropped calls so far.
Cons: I'm only 24 hours in and honestely I don't have any. I might miss the indicator light for a new message, but think I'll adjust fine.
Summary: Honestly, I don't understand the bad reviews for this phone. My guess is they either don't really have one or Verizon reception is poor in their area. It'...
Summary: Honestly, I don't understand the bad reviews for this phone. My guess is they either don't really have one or Verizon reception is poor in their area. It's not as though I'm loyal to Verizon as I was a Sprint customer for the past 12 years. I live in the Tampa Bay area and so far have been amazed with the reception I've received in my areas. Yesterday I was literally parked on the bridge in the middle of the bay and never had the phone cut off or drop; my Sprint phone commonly cut off on the bridge's hump. I also used it in the mall and during my 35 mile commute home without a single issue. I streamed Pandora for a majority of those miles and never lost reception and it was as clear as the radio. Other apps such as Facebook, Poker Buddies and Words with Friends have updated quickly as well. It also linked up fine with my company's Exchange server on the $29 unlimited plan. I'm not sure if Tampa just has a good network but so far Verizon has been great. I also considered the HTC Evo and upcoming Thunderbolt, but the poor battery life and bulky size were deterrents. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Specifications
- Manufacturer: Apple
- Part number: iPhone 4 - 16 GB
- Description: While everyone else was busy trying to keep up with iPhone, Apple were busy creating amazing new features that make iPhone more powerful, easier to use, and more indispensable than ever. The result is iPhone 4. The biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone. All the breakthrough technology in iPhone 4 is situated between two glossy panels of aluminosilicate glass - the same type of glass used in the windshields of helicopters and high-speed trains. Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch resistant than ever. It's also recyclable. The 960-by-640 backlit LCD display boasts a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, making it the highest-resolution phone screen ever. To achieve this, Apple engineers developed pixels so small - a mere 78 micrometers across - that the human eye can't distinguish individual pixels. That makes text remarkably sharp and graphics incredibly vivid. IPS technology also provides excellent color and contrast from almost any viewing angle. Created from Apple's own alloy, then forged to be five times stronger than standard steel, the CNC-machined band is the mounting point for all the components of iPhone 4. The band provides impressive structural rigidity and allows for its incredibly thin, refined design. It also functions as both iPhone 4 antennas. Apple engineers designed the A4 chip to be a remarkably powerful yet remarkably power-efficient mobile processor. With it, iPhone 4 can easily perform complex jobs such as multitasking, editing video, and placing FaceTime calls. All while maximizing battery life. iPhone 4 includes a built-in three-axis gyroscope. When paired with the accelerometer, it makes iPhone 4 capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, full 3D attitude, and rotation rate. Translation: More motion gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience. The iPhone 4 camera shoots gorgeous 5-megapixel photos and stunning HD video. And with its advanced backside illumination sensor, it captures beautiful images even in low-light settings. The built-in LED flash does double duty. When you're taking pictures, it works as a flash. When you're shooting video it can stay on to light up the scene. And on the front of iPhone 4, the built-in camera is perfect for making FaceTime calls and shooting self-portraits. While most phones have only one microphone, iPhone 4 has two. The main mic, located on the bottom next to the dock connector, is for phone calls, voice commands, and memos. The second mic, built into the top near the headphone jack, is for FaceTime calls and for making your phone calls better. It works with the main mic to suppress unwanted and distracting background sounds, such as music and loud conversations. This dual-mic noise suppression helps make every conversation a quiet one. With its large Multi-Touch display and innovative software, iPhone lets you control everything using just your fingers. How does it work? A panel laminated on the glass senses your touch using electrical fields. It can register multiple touches at once to support advanced gestures such as pinch to zoom, two-finger tap, and more. The panel then transmits the information to the Retina display below it.
