The good: The Verizon iPhone 4 offers a hot-spot feature not available on AT&T's device. Performance was better in most regards.
The bad: The Verizon iPhone 4 lacks world roaming and the ability to access voice and data simultaneously. The hot-spot feature didn't work with all devices.
The bottom line: The Verizon iPhone 4 has much in common with its AT&T counterpart, but varying features and different performance give it enough room to stand apart. It won't vastly change your iPhone experience, but we welcome the consumer choice that it brings.

Couldn't be happier

Pros: Everything. It's fast and simple to use. It sync'd everything with my macbook (mail, contacts, calendar).

Summary: This phone is awesome. I spent all day yesterday playing with it and the battery didn't even die. Facetime is a cool feature. I have a Macbook and it sync'd my mail, contacts and calendar, so I didn't have to set it up. Apple really knows how to make this stuff. I'm really glad Verizon finally got the iPhone. Great voice quality. The 3g internet for me has been faster than I expected, but that may be because I am upgrading from a Blackberry.

Nice tool, good purchase decision.
by gferg1 on December 21, 2011
Pros: Nice size and weight, fits in pocket easily even with silicone cover; virtual keyboard; relatively fast; connects easily with Blue Tooth and WiFi; intuitive; system mirrors iPad; relatively easy to sync data; decent battery life; good reception.
Cons: Really just nits: Picture quality not that great in low light, and can't really take action shots; lack of a notification light that continuously blinks until e-mail/voicemail/texts are checked.

Summary: As a Blackberry user for a number of years, I waited a month before reviewing my iPhone purchase so I could get a good feel for the phone and write an adequate piece. Overall I was happy with Blackberrys - they are good tools (for me phones are tools for business, not toys). However I was having a few problems with my Storm2, and was eligible for an upgrade. I did a lot of research on current Verizon phones, reading user reviews, etc.; have been using an iPad for the past 4 months for work purposes; have Droid experience from helping my wife figure out how to use hers; want something as light and small as possible; needed something that would allow my iPad and netbook to access the 'Net via hotspot or tether while traveling; concerned about RIM's business/financial status and the newest slate of phones (seen as lacking in many respects)...consequently decided on the iPhone.
I chose the 8gig 4 instead of the 4s for several reasons: I don't need Siri, which at this point is primarily a toy; I don't do a lot of gaming, so I don't need the huge storage of the new 4s; when I do photography I use a Nikon and not a cell phone; and the price (nice discount with Verizon's New Every Two). I am very pleased with my decision. I have loaded over 900 songs, 50 pictures, several books and games, and still have lots of room for more.
The upsides and pros of the iPhone 4: nice size and weight, fits in pocket easily even with silicone cover; nice keyboard (better than Storm2); relatively fast; connects quickly and easily with Blue Tooth and WiFi; easy and intuitive to use (my wife's Droid is a pain); system mirrors the iPad; relatively easy to sync music, books, and Outlook data; decent battery life once I found out about turning off various notifications and background apps; haven't had any dropped calls yet, and am getting better reception in my home than my Storm2 (in kind of a dead zone).
The cons (which really are nits): the camera, in that picture quality is not that great in low light, and can't really take action shots (grandchildren are always moving); lack of a notification light that continuously blinks until e-mail/voicemail/texts are checked.
Overall a great decision. I highly recommend it. -
The iPhone 4 is leaps and bounds superior...
by allystocks on December 16, 2011
Pros: *Consolidating my phone, browser, email, camera & iPod makes my digital life much easier.
*The rear-facing camera performs so well that I no longer carry a digital camera with me on vacations.Cons: *No Flash support (I hope HTML5 picks up quickly).
*Battery drains after ~30 hours of normal use. I typically charge it every night.Summary: I have owned this product for 10 months now and the iPhone 4 is leaps and bounds superior to its Apple predecessors in both features and quality.

After buying it, my friend told me that it's possible to get the iPhone 4s for free. I just returned it and now have a free one being shipped within the next few days. I'm so Excited! The link is still valid for anyone looking to hop on this free promotion: http://*****/82fPk
Notes:
1.The forward facing camera is a "cool" feature but I don't use it as much as I thought I would. With FaceTime requiring WiFi, I find myself using other computers for larger screens and bigger speakers.
2.Apple's AppCenter screening makes it difficult for some really cool apps to be available; however, they also keep a lot of the harmful ones away.
3. I have convinced 2 other people to purchase this phone and they absolutely love them too! -
My first smart phone has not disappointed me.
by Infinity_Colorado on December 13, 2011
Pros: -Fantastically built, feels great while using it
-Great camera
-Best display I've ever seen on a phone
-No dropped calls or bad quality, even in an area plagued by the worst cell service in the city
-So many more, but I'm out of space.Cons: -Nothing major, but I do wish the screen was a tad larger and maybe someday Apple could bring Siri to iPhone 4.

Summary: I've grown up with many "Dumb" phones over the years. But that doesn't taint my judgement, because I know a good phone when I see one. No other phone I've used has matched the quality, vibrancy, and just pure joy of using an iPhone. From the swipe of unlocking the screen, to texting a friend in record time with it's intelligent keyboard, to playing a brilliant app from its app store, iPhone is full of hidden beauty that makes it a real pleasure to use. I don't quite know how to describe it. Kind of like euphoria. Somehow, they implant little goodies into the OS that up the experience a lot. The screen is just perfect, it has just the right feel to it, not dry and catchy but not slippery either. And iPhone never misinterprets a touch. It's retina display is stunning, Apple wasn't lying when they told us that pictures and text will never look clearer. Speaking of pictures, the camera, while certainly not the highest resolution of all of the phones, somehow manages to top off the quality of any camera I've used, dedicated or on a phone. I've completely forgotten about my point and shoot camera, as I have 447 stored on my phone, I love to snap them so much. Browsing is a pleasure, snapping photos is a pleasure, using apps is a pleasure, email-ing is a pleasure, reviewing, YouTube, sending cards to Grandmothers... it's all so awesome to use. I could never have been happier with my choice.
And If you're wondering how I sent a card to my Grandma, I used Apple's new cards app. She called me and told me she felt blessed to have me in her life. And if that doesn't warm your heart, I don't know what will.
Fantastic job, Apple. -

Summary: I have had this phone for almost 6 months and it has done very well. I had the at&t iphone but wanted the fast 3g networks, verizon is the only 3g provider in a 40 mile area of my house, I wish that the battery was a little better. I have dropped this phone several times and cracked the back glass but found a replacement on amazon for ten dollars, I would recommend getting the lifeproof case for this iphone because you can drop it and submerge your phone without any issues.

Verizon iPhone runs smooth as advertised, except 3G
by shawnzulma on November 2, 2011
Pros: The apps are great, IOS is able to open, close and move between apps better than any smart phone I have ever used. The Retina screen is beautiful and call quality is pretty good. I can even get a good call signal in my black hoke of a govt building unlik
Cons: My 3G speeds are absolutely horrible and unacceptable. Anywhere inside or outside Houston, Tx I have been I am lucky to get 512K downloads. Usually its just under that. My AT&T IPhone 4 associate gets between 4-5MB anywhere he goes. That about 10X

Summary: The Verizon IPhone 4 is a solid sleek phone running a solid OS with great apps and great battery life. But if you rely on getting a lot done quickly over the internet using your Verizon IPhone 4, you might want to look to AT&T or getting an Android phone because the 3G speeds are literally atrocious.

Specifications
- Manufacturer: Apple
- Part number: iPhone 4 - 16 GB
- Description: While everyone else was busy trying to keep up with iPhone, Apple were busy creating amazing new features that make iPhone more powerful, easier to use, and more indispensable than ever. The result is iPhone 4. The biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone. All the breakthrough technology in iPhone 4 is situated between two glossy panels of aluminosilicate glass - the same type of glass used in the windshields of helicopters and high-speed trains. Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch resistant than ever. It's also recyclable. The 960-by-640 backlit LCD display boasts a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, making it the highest-resolution phone screen ever. To achieve this, Apple engineers developed pixels so small - a mere 78 micrometers across - that the human eye can't distinguish individual pixels. That makes text remarkably sharp and graphics incredibly vivid. IPS technology also provides excellent color and contrast from almost any viewing angle. Created from Apple's own alloy, then forged to be five times stronger than standard steel, the CNC-machined band is the mounting point for all the components of iPhone 4. The band provides impressive structural rigidity and allows for its incredibly thin, refined design. It also functions as both iPhone 4 antennas. Apple engineers designed the A4 chip to be a remarkably powerful yet remarkably power-efficient mobile processor. With it, iPhone 4 can easily perform complex jobs such as multitasking, editing video, and placing FaceTime calls. All while maximizing battery life. iPhone 4 includes a built-in three-axis gyroscope. When paired with the accelerometer, it makes iPhone 4 capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, full 3D attitude, and rotation rate. Translation: More motion gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience. The iPhone 4 camera shoots gorgeous 5-megapixel photos and stunning HD video. And with its advanced backside illumination sensor, it captures beautiful images even in low-light settings. The built-in LED flash does double duty. When you're taking pictures, it works as a flash. When you're shooting video it can stay on to light up the scene. And on the front of iPhone 4, the built-in camera is perfect for making FaceTime calls and shooting self-portraits. While most phones have only one microphone, iPhone 4 has two. The main mic, located on the bottom next to the dock connector, is for phone calls, voice commands, and memos. The second mic, built into the top near the headphone jack, is for FaceTime calls and for making your phone calls better. It works with the main mic to suppress unwanted and distracting background sounds, such as music and loud conversations. This dual-mic noise suppression helps make every conversation a quiet one. With its large Multi-Touch display and innovative software, iPhone lets you control everything using just your fingers. How does it work? A panel laminated on the glass senses your touch using electrical fields. It can register multiple touches at once to support advanced gestures such as pinch to zoom, two-finger tap, and more. The panel then transmits the information to the Retina display below it.
