The good: The iPhone 5 adds everything we wanted in the iPhone 4S: 4G LTE, a longer, larger screen, free turn-by-turn navigation, and a faster A6 processor. Plus, its top-to-bottom redesign is sharp, slim, and feather-light.
The bad: Apple Maps feels unfinished and buggy; Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models.
The bottom line: The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features and design, addressing its major previous shortcomings. It's absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone universe.

Of all the great phones out there, this is the one 4 me
by yuniverse on September 23, 2012
Pros: 1. Dimensions. Bigger screen without sacrificing one-handed navigation. Thinner and Lighter without feeling cheap.
2. Screen is even better than iPhone 4 - simply gorgeous.
3. I really can't think of any cons.Cons: I really can't think of any cons, but if you insist, iOS 6's incremental improvement is a slight disappointment. Map in my area is actually very good.

It's a compromise

Engineering A+, everything else, blahhhhh
by jtd_in_slc on October 5, 2012
Pros: Light weight, more durable, has survived a couple of major drops already.
Cons: Battery has been very disappointing. Zero accessories available. New adapter leaves you with a dead battery a no way to charge more often than not. I keep my cable in my pocket.
Summary: I upgrade my Iphones primarily because I am typically living with a cracked screen, which was the case here. The features, size, form factor all are not differentiated virtually at ...
Summary: I upgrade my Iphones primarily because I am typically living with a cracked screen, which was the case here. The features, size, form factor all are not differentiated virtually at all from the 4S. In the end, I feel like I have been using the same phone for the last three years. Apple seems to have run out of useful ideas for the mobile phone. Sold my stock after owning a week.

Summary: If you could only buy one gadget this year, this is it. Nothing is as good as this phone. I've personally navigated the st. louis, MO area with iOS 6 maps and found ZERO errors. There may be some in other cities, but from what data I have it is minimal, overhyped, and will be made even better over time.

watch out for battery life problems
by jhencken on September 23, 2012
Pros: it's light enough to put in your shirt pocket and barely notice it
Cons: 1. sound is not loud enough (I'm not hard of hearing) on earpiece, altho speaker is plenty loud
2. battery life already a problem after 2 days: with WiFi and BlueTooth off, it should not lost 25% of the battery charge overnight :-(Summary: I predict we're all going to be facing major expenses having to replace the battery after the warranty expires.

iPhone 5 - The BEST phone you can have.
by Demne on September 21, 2012
Pros: Pros:
1. Best Ecosystem in the world. - Works amazing w/ PC/Mac/iPad
2. Larger Screen 4.0
3. LTE
4. Fastest CPU out beating the Samsung G3 in performance.
5. Easiest phone to use/navigate.
6. Best Apps out and not riddled w/ Malware like AndroidCons: 1. iTunes is not the easiest to master but once you do, it's very easy to use.
2. MAPS app needs some work but I have no doubt that if Apple continues to work and develop MAPs that it can easily beat Google Maps.Summary: Apple has the best phone out bar none.

The iPhone 5 is incredibly fast, is easy to use, and has an incredible following.
There are so many reasons to have the iPhone 5 over Android or Windows phones.
1. The Best ecosystem in the world. There are more cases, radios, cars, printers, apps that take advantage of iOS than any other phone.
2. The Larger Screen at 4.0in and 16x9 ratio makes watching movies gorgeous, taking phones amazing, and the phone is designed to be held in one hand comfortably and still be easy to navigate.
3. Unlike Android/Windows phones.. the Iphone 5 is made of Glass and Aluminum instead of cheap plastics.
4. The Iphone 5 and predecessors have the BEST resell value of any phone. If you buy an iphone under contract.. in 2 years you can resell your phone easily for $200 dollars and upgrade at no cost. You can NOT say that for any Android phone because they have no value.
5. Siri has vastly improved with iOS 6 and continues to get better.
6. Apple TV is a must have with an i0S device. You can mirror, stream home movies, music, YouTube, presentations with Pages/Keynote/Numbers at School or the Office and use your iPhone 5 as the remote.
7. LTE super fast speeds now on the most advanced Phone.
8. Best Apps hands down. Apple protects it's users by validating Apps that you download or purchase are real. The scrutinize their Apps that developers make and if the App is not real or designed to be in the users best interest, they will delete the APP from the App Store to protect the clients.. Unlike Android's apps that are not tested and you could easily download a threatening virus.
9. iTunes Match for $25 bucks is worth getting. You can hold 25000 songs in the cloud, you can delete songs off your computer or iPhone 5 and re-install them at any time. You can also play the song without installing it to your device. If you purchase the song from Apple, it does not take up any space of the 25000 songs.
10. Once you master iTunes it is actually a pretty easy software to use, create playlists and albums. Also you can take blurays and use the digital codes and Apple will consider your movie a purchase and will keep a digital copy in the cloud forever for you to use on your new iPhone 5.
11. iPhone 5 is a world phone and you can use it on business trips and vacations.
12. iPhone 5 is great for work and school. The business applications for iPhone 5 are amazing with iWorks support using Pages for word processing, Keynote for presentations, and Numbers for spreadsheets. Calendars and Email can also work easily with Microsoft Exchange.
13. The 8 megapixel camera and front facing Facetime 720p camera are gorgeous. Photos are beautiful and luscious. You can video chat using Facetime with anyone else with an iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer as well as Skype. Panorama mode is OUTSTANDING. You can take long beautiful photos on vacations.
14. iPhote/iMovie are fan to edit photo/movies. You have powerful editors to make all your pictures and movies look amazing as well as edit your audio. You can even use music soundtracks in your library in your movies and photo albums.
I can go on and on people why the iPhone 5 is far superior to any Android and Windows 8 phone out there. The iPhone 5 is the next phone you should get and has the best ecosystem in the world.7 out of 18 users found this user opinion helpful.
