The good: The iPhone 5 adds everything we wanted in the iPhone 4S: 4G LTE, a longer, larger screen, free turn-by-turn navigation, and a faster A6 processor. Plus, its top-to-bottom redesign is sharp, slim, and feather-light.
The bad: Apple Maps feels unfinished and buggy; Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models.
The bottom line: The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features and design, addressing its major previous shortcomings. It's absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone universe.

It's the iPhone but better on every front!
by Trexuphigh on September 22, 2012
Pros: This thing is as light as a feather!
iOS feels much smoother than on a 4.
Lightening connector is very fast, fastest USB2 transfer speeds that I've seen.Cons: Lightening to 30 pin adapter should have been included.

Summary: It's a nice phone. A big leap forward for iPhone. Screen seems crisper than on the 4, camera takes much better pictures, there is no lag. Old apps get centred but as new ones come out that will change. The native apps look great. Even Apple Maps gets more criticism than it deserves, flyovers look great, the 2D maps are gorgeous. I've maps on iOS 6 for months on an iPhone 4, never got lost. I do miss street view but I know it'll come back, probably in a few weeks.

Huge flop!
by bradluy on December 29, 2012
Pros: Good Apple GUI.
Cons: Chage to charging port connector? SIRI - what's that all about It's fun for a day then turn it off, sooo small, old technology. Buy a Lumia 920 and use the iPhone 5 as a paper weight.
Summary: Don't waste your time.

Summary: I should not have upgraded I did 2 mistakes in a row with Apple. The phone is a bigger version of the 4s with no major difference despite magazines and blogs wants you to believe otherwise. The screen is good but just a taller version of the 4s and still too small. Despite the new processor the performance is sluggish doing emails and common tasks..might be os6. Maps are terrible and the overall design and feel is outdated.

Not the Best phone out there...
by SlickVm on October 10, 2012
Pros: Sexy sleek design
Nice Retina screen

Summary: I set up a family plan with my wife. Initially we both got two white iPhone 5 16GB phones. She used to have a HTC EVO 3G and I the Samsung Epic 4G. My wife hated the phone since she wasn't able to customize it like her HTC phone so she switched to the Samsung S3 . The iphone 5 keyboard is definitely a major weak point for me. I like texting and the keyboard has a weak response. I have to press hard on each key specially the space button for it to process. Your finger just glides on the Samsung S3's keyboard. I'm definitely having buyers remorse and I envy my wife's Samsung S3. Good thing I still have 10 days to think about returning it. I do like its retina screen tho; it's very crisp even on the sunlight. The Battery life is awesome; it's even better than Samsung S3. I would grade this phone an 8 and Samsung S3 a 9. Hype is what has made the iphone 5 a "Fantastic" phone. If you have used a high end android phone before purchasing an iphone you will totally see the difference and wont be too pleased with any iphone.
Even though the iphone 5 looks super sexy on my hand I don't don't think it surpases the Samsung S3. I can compared everything since my wife has it. I would recommend the iphone 5 for people that like a cool looking phones and are ok with being restricted. If you want a real bang for your buck go Samsung S3.1 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Really liked it at first but becoming more unsatisfied
by darrencate on October 5, 2012
Pros: Style, style, style, app selection, longer screen.
Cons: I didn't use a case and got scratches everywhere. Don't wait get a good case. Internet has been spotty. I'm so worried about breaking the glass. Does it have gorilla glass?
Summary: I'm a little jealous of others screen sizes and I hear there are lots of new stuff out I didn't get. Have to wait for the next version ...

Summary: Going from an Android phone to an iPhone is like staying at a 5 star hotel(Android) vs. a Holiday Inn (iPhone). Yes, the Hholiday Inn is utilitarian and, yes, you may get a decent nights sleep but you may also get bitten by bed bugs. That defines the iPhone - buggy and not anywhere close to the capabilities of my previous Android phone (HTC Rezound).
Maps on the iPhone are a DISASTER!!
More litte icons... oh boy!! I can no longer create shortcuts for speed dialing or texting. I cannot plug it into any of my iPod friendly devices. I need that dang dongle at 30 bucks a pop. Come on Apple, really!!
I guess if you are used to using an iPhone and you are up for an upgrade, this may make sense. For me, its going back. I came, I saw, I tried using it and now I am returning it for a Samsung S3.4 out of 13 users found this user opinion helpful.
