The good: The iPhone 5 adds everything we wanted in the iPhone 4S: 4G LTE, a longer, larger screen, free turn-by-turn navigation, and a faster A6 processor. Plus, its top-to-bottom redesign is sharp, slim, and feather-light.
The bad: Apple Maps feels unfinished and buggy; Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models.
The bottom line: The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features and design, addressing its major previous shortcomings. It's absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone universe.

This phone would of been exciting last year.
by Carlnolip on September 21, 2012
Pros: The Apple OS is still the best out there, Windows looks promising yet still has to prove its self.
Cons: This phone is late, late, late. No excitement, just playing catch up with whats already on the market.

Summary: Steve Jobs went against what all the big corporations were doing and gave us what we wanted. We wanted digital music, record companies hated that, we wanted a PDA with a phone, we wanted to be free from the crap software and music our carries were providing for us. It was a huge fight for Apple against cell carries all over the world to give up control of exclusive rights to selling us software and music on our phones. This paved the way for Android and everyone else. I fear with Jobs gone Apple is just going to be another dollar focused corporation squeezing all they can out of what Jobs left them and never again going against what are the excepted norms. R.I.P

The iPhone 5 is Completely unreliable
by VinOrbit on December 11, 2012
Pros: The iPhone is awesome when it works,
Cons: Operates for about a 15 to 20 minute time period and then that's all she wrote. Will have to restore the iPhone at least once a day. Battery does not last, and the maps are useless.

Summary: The iPhone 5 keeps clearing it memory at random. When I received the iPhone 5, it took 2 days to charge the battery. AT&T sent me ti the Apple store for assistance and I showed up 9 minutes late. The person at the Apple store said they are unable to help me because I was late.
After the phone charged, it was set up using iTunes. Then at random, the Apple logo appeared and the phone turned off. The iTunes connect icon appeared and when connecting to iTunes, I had to recover the firmware, OS and whatever else was needed.
Then the iPhone would not recover. I was on the phone with Apple and AT&T for 3 hours. Nothing worked. They told me I had to visit the Apple store that sent me home and that is when I demanded my money back.2 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great phone, huge speed increase, display is amazing.
by jeremiahbsfrog on November 4, 2012
Pros: I upgraded from the 3g to the 5 and it is an amazing phone, that I absolutely love. Of course I think if I upgraded from a 4s, I wouldn't be near as impressed, but I hold onto my phones for a few years. It's ease and convenience added to my life.
Cons: Like all apple products; the software restrictions, though that's easily solved by a jailbreak.
Summary: Great phone, I realize that everyone was expecting apple to, once again, reinvent the smart phone. Frankly, I think that's an unrealistic expectation to have every time apple comes ...
Summary: Great phone, I realize that everyone was expecting apple to, once again, reinvent the smart phone. Frankly, I think that's an unrealistic expectation to have every time apple comes out with a new product. If you're wanting a great phone and need a new one I would suggest this over all other phones on the market right now.

Summary: iPhone used to be an awesome device, I still recall how it changed the playing field with it's introduction to a hand held touch gestured device which was seldom seen in such sleek design outlay.
Now however it is the same object being repeated over and over again including the appearance and working of the new OS. Not easy to navigate through icons in a rush as we tend to miss out where exactly an icon is.
The ecosystem needs a much wanted for overhauling in design perspectives to better engage users with the phone.2 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: This phone is brilliant. It's not revolutionary, but that wasn't a precondition for my phone purchase. I'm glad that the screen is not any bigger than it is. In fact, I didn't want a bigger screen than the 4/4s, but the longer screen is just on the border of what's acceptable to me for a smart phone.
The iPhone 5 has an amazing screen. The best phone display industry tester Displaymate has ever seen (http://www.displaymate.com/Smartphone_ShootOut_2.htm). In person, the screen is just incredible. I wanted to like the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen (because I was very close to buying this phone), but it looked over-saturated and skewed yellow-green, which, as Displaymate found, it was.
There are a lot of great phone choices right now, but switching from Android (Samsung Moment) to an iPhone was the right choice for me. I prefer the general layout of ios better than android, which tends to look busy to me, and I like the form factor. Syncing has worked well for me and the Apple apps store is great. Aside from some call quality issues (the source of which is yet to be determined), I love this phone.2 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.
