Apple iPhone 5 price range: $99.99 - $719.00

The good: The iPhone 5 adds everything we wanted in the iPhone 4S: 4G LTE, a longer, larger screen, free turn-by-turn navigation, and a faster A6 processor. Plus, its top-to-bottom redesign is sharp, slim, and feather-light.
The bad: Apple Maps feels unfinished and buggy; Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models.
The bottom line: The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features and design, addressing its major previous shortcomings. It's absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone universe.

The iPhone that made me switch from Android.
by deere777 on September 24, 2012
Pros: Battery Life, Screen size, Camera, user interface, Sounds on/off button on side of phone, new port (I actually like it), iCloud
Cons: No widgets on home screens, non user removable battery

Summary: I switched over from the HTC EVO 4G on Sprint to the iPhone 5. Since I am with Sprint and in Iowa neither phone uses 4g. My battery last all day on the iPhone, but with my EVO I had to plug in after lunch or it would be dead on my way home from work. I love itunes and am glad to not need my iPod anymore since i can use my 32g phone. I like the new port, but the only accessory i had before is a FM modulator for my car. It feels solid unlike micro-usb ports that I have used.

From innovation to evolution & still charging a premium
by maximp--2008 on December 15, 2012
Pros: Faster chip, better camera, software upgrade, LTE"...... is that all Apple has to offer these days??
Cons: Obviously rushed the product to catch up with the competitors who seem to have more creative juices.
Poor map App, selling damaged goods..nicks & scratches.
Premium price for a standard product. Poor customer support on line giving you a run aroundSummary: I am happy to pay premium for the best product in the market & in the past but Apple has lost the edge. Development is too slow and you are ...
Summary: I am happy to pay premium for the best product in the market & in the past but Apple has lost the edge. Development is too slow and you are now playing catch up & copying the competition. Steve would turn around in his grave!
Past success seems to make you forget your principles of having the superiority in product & service. You have to stop reassuring yourself how good you are but go back to the basics. Innovation & Customer service. You lost it (maybe business was too good?) and the competition has beaten you and are moving ahead at a speed which seems to leave you breathless. Repeating how cool & great you are while loosing market share won't do it!
Wake up Apple!
Sorry guys, I want the best but your are no long it!1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great smart phone with tons of battery life.
by cmnrs4 on November 5, 2012
Pros: - excellent battery life.
- good size (4.2 inch screen might be perfect).
- light weight.
- tons of great apps.
- excellent email integration.
- excellent calendar integration.
- camera is top-notch.
- display is among the best available.Cons: - screen size could be a bit larger (as noted above).
- not as many free quality gaming apps as Android.
- Apple maps.
- Why do you have enter a password every time you enter the AppStore.

Summary: Apple has made a great product and it is very beautifully designed. The iOS 6.0 was a bit buggy but they have already provided a 6.0.1 to fix most of the pertinent issues. I have only seen one crash occur from while using this phone, which is impressive compared to my one year with the Samsung GS2 Skyrocket. I would see apps crash about once a week.
I do like the flexibility of the Android environment but it is was very difficult to manage the battery life and background processes. With the Apple iOS it is very straight forward to manage the tasks and this helps provide the excellent battery life.
From the standpoint of multitasking I do think Android is easier to bounce from app to app (at least with the Samsung TouchWiz OS). This requires a few more thumb presses to get back to where you were for Apple but it works robustly.
The iPhone 5 is definitely an evolution and it provides a great new platform to offer improved, adaptive and creative software. Apple needs to take a leap to innovate new functionality to improve user experience like Android has done with their environment. Also, they have a leg up since their eco-system is well managed compared to Android. There isn't fragmentation on the mulitple platforms like Android (even with product lines like Samsung and LG).1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Really disapointed in this phone
by krb1966 on October 14, 2012
Pros: Light weight
Cons: 1. Maps is terrible, it lacks voice control my android had, lacks locations I go. I know... this subject has been covered. But I switched from an android phone to this and didn't expect to loose a key feature I had in my android.
2. Siri Is JUNKSummary: I waited to switch to a new phone for a while. I was pretty happy with my Good ole Droid. It allowed me to map where I wanted, I had ...
Summary: I waited to switch to a new phone for a while. I was pretty happy with my Good ole Droid. It allowed me to map where I wanted, I had it's voice commands set up and used them all the time. But It was time, I wanted LTE, higher speed, lighter weight, bigger screen and just something different. After using many other Apple products, IPad, Itouch, and Nano. I thought I would give the Iphone a try, I waited till the release of the 5 but had almost bought the Galaxy 3s a couple times.
Oh I forgot to mention the screen size was a disappointment too. it was only a 1/4" larger (taller) than my Droid 2's screen.
When Apple released the Iphone 5 there wasn't to much said other than the normal praise that Apple gets.. I ordered it..Shortly after I ordered it the Maps issue started to grow, then the CEO appologizes.. I'm thinking Oh know... This is a feature I use regulary in my Andriod..Yep, got the Iphone and went to use the maps feature... OMG this thing is terrible. This is a huge problem for me since I use the Navigation functions on my phone all the time.
I am siting here as I write this debating returning this product. Not what I had hoped for and not what I expected.
As for Siri, I watched enough of those ads on Tv to get fooled by Apple. This software is JUNK, it doesnt do what it should. I was looking for a homes in my area. I said "Search the web for Khov.com" It comes back with K-love...At least my droid would give me a list of possible matches. Not Siri, that dumb tool just goes anywhere it wants...
The only reasons I am considering keeping this thing is that I have intigrated it with all my other apple products and find that useful.
If you havn't bought this phone or any Iphone, I would say don't. Wait till they fix the Maps and Siri. Be happy and get a Droid. Lean from my mistake.

Fast, beautiful, thin, powerful, easy to use, top phone
by Count Boni on October 2, 2012
Pros: Impressive industrial design, beautiful screen, perfect screen size, iOS just keeps getting better, apps selection is the best in the market, camera is unbeatable, super fast and functional as no other, instant classic.
Cons: Battery could last longer, apple maps not yet ready (although I'm sure it will get there)

Summary: This is the best smartphone I could ever found, it's fast, beautiful and it just works! I'm quite savvy about technology and I love it, my parents have no idea about technology and they love it. This phone is again the phone that changed phones forever. As usual Apple sets the standard in how a smartphone should be, how it should work and why less is more. It's thin, light, beautiful, fast, powerful... This is THE PHONE to get.

Pros: Larger screen, super fast and I don't even feel it in my pocket.
Cons: Nothing, maps is an iOS 6 con not an iPhone5 con.
