BlackBerry Bold 9930 (Verizon Wireless) price range: $99.99

The good: The RIM BlackBerry Bold 9930 has a wider and thinner design and is exceedingly well-made. It boasts stunning graphics, a new touch-screen display, an amazing physical QWERTY keyboard, a faster 1.2GHz processor, and the new BlackBerry OS 7 that brings augmented reality apps, 720p HD video recording, and more. We're also pleased with the photo quality of the 5-megapixel camera.
The bad: The BlackBerry Bold 9930 doesn't have the best call quality, and we think its price is too steep. The OS 7 user interface is not that different from OS 6.
The bottom line: The BlackBerry Bold 9930 is the best QWERTY BlackBerry to date, but should be priced lower.

Summary: I love this phone for all its features and what it represents. Blackberrys are work horses. At the end of the day, it and its' competitors are vying to be your phone so what's best for me isn't necessarily best for you. The way I see it, a cell phone makes calls, allows you to communicate with others via text messages, instant messages or email. In this light, this Blackberry is the best on the market right now. The keyboard and touchscreen combo makes the 9930 Bold the most efficient communications - yes, better than the iPhone and the plethora of Android devices. It may not be as fun, it may not be as aesthetically attractive, it may not have the biggest screen or the biggest library of apps available - so what if its' not a toy - it's a darn good phone. Top notch built quality and sound quality. They addressed almost all of the complaints about Blackberrys past. Web browsing isn't something I shy away from anymore but rather enjoy and know I can count on. The touchscreen makes a huge difference in terms of how I interact with the phone.
To those of you convinced you're leaving Blackberry for an iPhone or an Android device, please give this one a look. It'd be a shame if you ignored this phone simply because of your current Blackberrys' woes and because you want a shiny new toy instead of a shiny new communications device. -
Very Good Phone the best BlackBerry that i have used.
by Jerry3741 on September 7, 2011
Pros: Fast , Larger screen very sharp with a lot of detail. The Browser is better than the 9650. Key board is great and Battery life is good. A lot of storage 8 GB.
Cons: No flash memory For the Browser.

Summary: If you want a phone that is fast and has a great key board this is the one to get. The BlackBerry Bold 9930 has a lot of memory 8GB and the key's are farther apart and that makes it easier to type. This is my sixth BlackBerry and the best one yet.
Rim needs to do more advertising on the Bold 9900,9930 . I have notice in a Verizon store the BlackBerry's are in the back of the store and the Androids up front. The sales associate in the Verizon store do not say any thing about BlackBerry's unless you ask you are kinda steered to the Androids phones.

Summary: Overall it's the blackberry of all blackberrys.Really impressed this device. It does everything I need my phone to do. I am a full time college student & full time sales consultant, this phone helps me keep on top of things. Reliability is what I always look for. Reliable email, battery life, and service of course(Verizon).I don't choose to go with a iPhone/Android because I don't see the point in uploading a bunch of apps i'm not even going to put to use, never the less the poor battery life. BlackBerry's devices will never let you down. Let us not forget the reason for why a cell phone is a necessity and not a source of entertainment.

by hitesh1203 on August 24, 2011
Pros: This phone is great keyboard, and is fast. other BB were too slow.... I do alot of emailing and this works like a dream..... I love it....
Cons: they could make the screen little bit bigger, but i dont want to be greedy, so far the phone i got is good. I wouldnt mind a bigger screen, just a tad bigger but than other users wouldnt like that big of a phone...
Summary: NICE Blackberry for email and texters..... If black berry can step it up the in app divison and can get some good app's going.... also if the logistics and ...
Summary: NICE Blackberry for email and texters..... If black berry can step it up the in app divison and can get some good app's going.... also if the logistics and engeering works, if they would have had a even faster processor than 1.2, alot of customers would return to BB..... I would say to RIM , try just a little bigger screen and see how many people like it.... it would really compete with other phones... alot of people like the keyboard phones...

Great display and battery life but it ends there...
by orlandotommy on August 20, 2011
Pros: Display is as good as iPhone 4, fast processor, battery life is awesome...
Cons: Runs on new OS7, very few if any apps work on the new OS, can't even run Pandora... STILL only supports 1 active sync/exchange account

Summary: I used to be a die hard BB user for years, then about a year ago i switched to the iPhone 4 when it came to Verizon... I've never thought about switching back until i saw Verizon's newest BB, the 9930. I wen't ahead and ordered it and on my 3rd day its back in the box and im back on my iPhone.
I mean, come on BlackBerry, you guys used to be the email kings, and now every iPhone and Droid supports multiple exchange email accounts. BB is at the end of its rope, id be suprised if they are still in business in the next year...

Serious Disappointment ..For a die-hard BB Fan like me
by AK290 on August 21, 2011

Summary: I have been a BB user since the first model and still stand behind them, but...I cannot believe how poorly the 9930 does on battery life. I use an iPad 2 for much of my work now, but find that I am charging my BBat least twice a day, sometimes three times. I also find that the information in the contact list is spaced too closely and that choosing a telephone number from more than one in any given contact is not as quick as before. In addition, am I not the only one who finds the quality of the phone reception poor? I really want to like the BB 9930 and am going to exchange it for another in the hope that it was just a lemon and the 9930 really is about more than a great keyboard.

Why is RIM Blackberry always a study in compromise??!
by kollin07 on August 31, 2011
Pros: - Thin
- I have not tested, but I know vis-a-vis my 8310 /OS4 there will be loads of horsepower & ease of use improvements.Cons: -Keyboard - why does everyone like this so much? I'm upgrading from an 8310 Curve, which has individually spaced keys providing great tactile feel which is, IMHO, 10x better and in a smaller profile than the 9930.

Summary: I'll come back to post further if I actually buy the phone. I was so excited to try the keyboard after the rave reviews, and leaves me wondering if everyone forgot their Curve days...
-Size - for the very modest increase in screen size, the 9930 is significantly larger than the shirt-pocket size 8310, and heavier.
