The good: The RIM BlackBerry Bold boasts one of the sharpest displays we've seen on a smartphone and offers great multimedia performance. The smartphone also brings HSDPA support, more productivity tools, and an updated OS. Other goodies include Wi-Fi; GPS; Bluetooth; and strong e-mail support with full QWERTY keyboard.
The bad: The Bold is a bit bulky and expensive. The Web browser isn't as easy to navigate as the competition.
The bottom line: For those who waited, the RIM BlackBerry Bold won't disappoint. The Bold impresses with its brilliant display, enhanced productivity tools, and excellent multimedia performance to deliver a more powerful and well-rounded smartphone to mobile professionals.

For the business user...
by schnitzenbotak on October 30, 2008
Pros: Once again, Blackberry has made a great device for the business user. THIS TIME HOWEVER, it's much better suited to function as a multimedia device as well.
Cons: It's big, it's expensive, and the browser isn't much improved despite the fancy new screen.
Summary: This phone is for the hardcore business user with big pockets (full of money, and also with room to fit the brick of a phone). The addition of 3G is ...
Summary: This phone is for the hardcore business user with big pockets (full of money, and also with room to fit the brick of a phone). The addition of 3G is less of a nice feature than it is a requirement given what's on the market now. If you're like me and refuse to let your work hook up your work email to your phone, will mostly use your phone for browsing on the go, checking email more than actually composing, want handy free apps, and don't always wear cargo pants... iPhone all the way. I was going to wait, and I'm glad I didn't. Don't get me wrong! I still think it's a fantastic.... just not for me.

Summary: the blackberry bold is the ultimate phone, great for texters , and emailers, the luxurious design makes it perfect for the poele who want to make a statement, the camera takes great pics but the videos come in pixelly the browser was fast but not as advanced as the iphone, but the other capabilites of this device made up for these issues, this phone is the best phone ive ever used colors pop off the screen online and imported videos are a pleasure to watch on its vibrant screen. This phone is great for business users, and people who want a smartphone experience like no other, this phone will truely take your breath away

Physical keyboards are for desks, not pockets.
by bubblebathgirl on October 30, 2008
Pros: It's a basic business smartphone with traditional applications. While it gets the job done it doesn't inspire or impress. It tries to be elegant but falls short of the iPhone once again.
Cons: It lacks a touch screen. it has an outdated keyboard. Interface lacks the fluidity of the iPhone. Blackberry is bulky as usual and makes it inconvenient to pocket much like. Battery life is poor and the screen is small. Phone quality is average.
Summary: Blackberry is a respected name in smartphone devices as it used to be the traditional business smartphone. As the the iPhone now has a far better suite of applications and ...
Summary: Blackberry is a respected name in smartphone devices as it used to be the traditional business smartphone. As the the iPhone now has a far better suite of applications and features, not to mention navigation, Blackberry is upping it feature set to try and compete. The problem with Blackberry, other then issues mentioned above and more, is that it simply has too many versions. Coming out with new products that don't really set themselves apart doesn't bring much excitement to a product.
bugsnext and itoughtsocrates. You both sound angry, it must be the pain of carry that heavy brick you've be carrying around so recently.
Apple has a much more intelligent release strategy, and it piles more significant updates into it's devices in order to create more excitement, and a better product for us all.

Updated on Nov 2, 2008Wow look at all the anger! LOL!!!
The iPhone is outselling all of the other wannabees (BlackBerry Bold included) because it is simply the best smartphone available.
No smartphone has yet to defeat the iPhone in a CNET prizefight.
That probably won't ever happen, not until the next iPhone comes out. Either way the Apple iPhone 3G has held "the belt" for longer then any other smartphone, and that's simply because ... it's the best :)
