The good: The RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 has a very responsive optical trackpad, convenient external media keys, Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, GPS, EV-DO, a 2-megapixel camera, and a media player. It's upgradable to OS 6, and is very affordable.
The bad: The BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 only has EV-DO Rev. 0, the microSD card slot is located behind the battery cover, and photo quality is mediocre.
The bottom line: The BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 is a very affordable entry-level smartphone with a solid feature set and great call quality.

Blackberry Curve 3G has shocked and surprised me.
by BenCasper89 on October 18, 2010
Pros: I bought the Curve 3G as a temp phone until I could get my HTC EVO 4G, However I've fallen in love! Excellent graphics, sounds quality, phone quality, fast net connect, very durable, and very efficient. Blackberry has scored a loyal customer with me.
Cons: I have no complaints with this phone.
Summary: Excellent phone for an excellent price. ($0.00) in my case. In the market for a Smartphone? While you may be drawn to that shiny new Iphone or Android, which ...

Awful, finicky phone with lousy system software
by LAPhotog on April 26, 2011
Pros: It's a Blackberry so it has buttons, and still has push email
Cons: System 6 Software, lousy reception, visual voice mail is awful, missed calls, dropped calls, bluetooth has a mind of it's own.
Summary: About 10 days ago I upgraded my year old Curve for a brand new Curve 9330 at a Sprint Store here in Los Angeles. I have been a long time ...
Summary: About 10 days ago I upgraded my year old Curve for a brand new Curve 9330 at a Sprint Store here in Los Angeles. I have been a long time Sprint customer and, the new Curve is my fourth Blackberry. I was very excited to have a new phone, showed it off to my wife, and quickly personalized the background picture, and then I started to use it.
I returned the phone to the Sprint Store and downgraded back to a Blackberry 8530. Much better phone, much better OS and none of the problems I was having with the 9330.
To put it as simply and plainly as possible the new phone is awful. The phone is a finicky mess that acts up all of the time, and the new series 6 software is about as lousy and useless as it comes. It literally takes 2 or 3 extra steps to do anything, and is just the most overcomplicated mess.
I was attracted to Blackberrys for their simplicity and reliability, and this new phone is proving to be neither. As a photographer I count on my Blackberry as my office, and my life line to clients, and this phone has only made things more difficult. My Blackberry Curve 8530 was great, and the Curve before that was near perfect and made me a lifelong fan of Blackberrys, this new 9330 and the series 6 software makes me want to look at Android and iPhones.

Decent smart phone. LOUSY RECEPTION.
by dave58rick on March 14, 2011
Pros: Easy to use interface.
Cons: The antenna is lousy. I can be sitting in a parking lot with 4 bars of strength, and start a call with a customer. I drop the customer, and the phone shows zero bars. Sitting in my house, I have 3-4 bars on my cell phone. On the curve, 0-1 bars.
Summary: Due to lack of antenna strength, I say don't purchase. There are other products that have a much better antenna. The curve is my main cell phone, and since ...

The Mercedes of cell phones
by mfiorvento on December 29, 2010
Pros: Ease of use. Zero glitches. Blackberry OS is extremely refined, personal customizations which never seem to end. Optical track pad with sensitivity adjust, WiFi. Two gig microSD card, 512mb on board memory. Fantastic GPS apps that are preloaded.
Cons: A 2.0 megapixel camera, no flash? What happened there RIM? I understand most smartphone's have a lot of plastic I wish there was an alternative.

Summary: The phone does offer a lock button on the outside of the phone, mackattack33 is unaware of the convenience keys on the left and right side of the phone allowing you to conveniently lock, pull up text message's, e-mail, BB messenger, voice dial, clock, application switcher, any of the installed programs on the phone, lock or do nothing. I received the phone through a plan upgrade, first thing I did was upgrade to OS 6 which took under 20 minutes. Phone is great, GPS pre-loaded apps are great. Phone is fast and battery life is extremely efficient.
I bought the phone on the 23rd of December as a two year upgrade with BB OS 5.0. Took it home, reformatted it with OS 6 all under twenty minutes. I highly recommend you update the OS. The Blackberry website is extremely useful. I had the HTC Touch Diamond, and HTC Snap, both with Windows Mobile and boy was I missing out. The BB website caters to the customer, unlike Windows Mobile who must have forgotten that customers were using there product.
All in all, for $50.00 it is the best smartphone I have ever owned. -
Phone works well but left me underwhelmed w/features
by mackattack33 on November 11, 2010
Pros: Dedicated music/media buttons at top, dedicated camera button, touch trackball/pad to navigate is very responsive, instant emails, Sprint navigation works well on this device, os6 ready (this is a con 4 me as well), expandable memory capable to 32gb
Cons: Crowded crap keyboard w/loud clicks, no lock button outside of keyboard, bad screen resolution (small sz. in general), a 2.0 mg.pxl. camera w/no flash, very few useful/interesting apps on bb app store, didn't ship with os6, gets bogged down easily
Summary: Seeing the capability of other smartphones on the market, the blackberry seems outdated. While handling emails and text messages very well (I love how bb's get emails often before ...
Summary: Seeing the capability of other smartphones on the market, the blackberry seems outdated. While handling emails and text messages very well (I love how bb's get emails often before hitting computer inbox), I feel that it has a no nonsense, no frills approach to the user interface. The web browser was unimpressive to me, not working any faster given touted high browsing speeds. I was extremely disappointed with the bb selection of apps available to this particular phone- all the "cool" ones were more or less tailored to the higher end or more multimedia ready phones i.e. the Torch. In the land of iPhones and Androids, bb should at least try to reach out to that market. The few apps I did download seemed to stall out often, and multitasking seems to really bog it down. Seriously, a 2.0 megapixel camera without a flash is embarrassing, and when I took color rich outdoor photos and looked at them on my computer later, the quality was just awful. Bought a 16 gb. micro sd card and uploaded all my music to it - this part I was happy with, however, when navigating between tracks, the volume seemed to make glitchy shifts instead of fading in and ruins the first few seconds of listening experience. Before my 30 days were up, I returned the phone and switched to the LG Optimus T smartphone from Tmobile and am extremely happy I did.
