  Summary: First, the phone is alright. The only thing I really don't like about the phone is the "SureType" function. It's a joke! It actually makes it harder to text. The Blackberry functions do help organize the things I need to do.
  
  Now to get started with AT&T. AT&T neglected to tell me that blackberries require a "unique" data package - what that means is its more expensive. Without out it there is no internet or MMS without it. At first I simply signed up for a pay-per-use account. They have now retracted that and require the purchase of a data package. 50 bux a month...NO THANKS!!!
  
  Thank AT&T for helping decide to terminate my service after my contract is up!

  Amazing sideloading speed!

  Summary: Other than Wi-Fi capability, the biggest upgrade from 8100 to 8120 is USB sideloading performance. The 8120 has a brand new USB chip from Cypress Semiconductor which enabled the transfer rate over 15MBps. It takes less than 70 seconds to sideload a 1GB file from PC to 8120.

  The worst phone I've ever owned

  Pros: Bright, pretty screen. Many features

  Cons: Horrible, clunky interface. Abysmal phone lock dials 911 regularly. Track ball loses funcionality very quickly.

  Summary: Worst of all is the horrific flaw in the keyboard lock. Obviously, cannot put this device in a pocket without locking the phone, since the easy to push buttons will do all kinds of crazy things (I've accidentally forwarded the entire contents of my message box to the first person in my address book more than once). To prevent this from happening, RIM included a key lock function.
  
  BUT, and this is a BIG BIG BIG But, that key lock includes an emergency call feature. Good, so you can call 911 without unlocking the phone, right? WRONG. It is so easy to dial 911 on accident that I do it several times a day. This is a very very bad thing! I always get a call from 555555 (apparently 911's callback servce) asking me if there was an emergency. The answer is always no.
  
  That along with the trackball that gave out early in my third month of owning the phone makes it so I have to wrestle the track ball through layers of menus to get anything at all done makes using this thing an exercise in futility.
  
  At first, I was wowed by all the things this nifty gadget could do, the internet, the email, etc, etc. As I began using it though, I realize dwhat a clunky and horribly designed piece of junk this thing really was. To do anything, you have to maneuver your way through more options than you really need. To figure out how to change settings is an adventure in its own right. It seems like it could do anything you wanted it to, if you can find your way through four and five deep menus, yielding literally millions of menu options that lose any but the most savvy user.
  
  All in all, its a well featured phone whose tricks are hidden behind horrible menus with a trackball that doesn't function and it calls 911 for you in your pocket. I would avoid.

  Phone is only as good as its service.

  Summary: I am a firm believer that a cellphone is only as good as its provider. Loved the phone when I purchased it but had horrible reception problems. Customer care does not care and just tell you that they will put in a request. Nothing happens. This is the same reason why alot of people are not getting the iphone...If you are going to get this phone, get it with another provider. Phone is GREAT.
