The good: The RIM BlackBerry Style combines a clamshell form factor and a full QWERTY keyboard. It ships with BlackBerry OS 6, which has an improved user interface, a new WebKit browser, and a better multimedia experience. Call quality was impressive.
The bad: The Style's square design may be a bit bulky for some users, and the keyboard is a touch too flat for our tastes.
The bottom line: Despite a few quirks, the RIM BlackBerry Style's practical design and advanced feature set make it a great smartphone for BlackBerry newbies and veterans alike.

Awesome Smartphone!

Pros: + It has a great keyboard,

+ Battery life, sleep holsters, charging pods, shortcuts, profiles, spell correction, customization, etcCons: - Ringtones on the new operating system aren't too loud

Summary: "Impressed" is the first word that comes to mind when I think of the Style 9670! This phone seems to be geared towards people making their first step into the smartphone world, but it would be foolish to think of this phone as entry level, not only from a BlackBerry perspective, but as a phone in general. I know that some think of the clam form factor as "old school" but in this case, it adds some spice to an otherwise limited choice in form factors.
Edit Link
I'm not sure why some seem to treat the Style as a second class citizen when in reality it is the most powerful BlackBerry Sprint has to offer! This has the same processor and memory as the Bold 9650, but it also has a larger screen, "N" wifi, 5mp camera, etc. This phone is awesome! I'm by no means new to BlackBerrys or smartphones in general... I've been using them since the Treo 600 days. I currently and recently have owned a BlackBerry 8330, 9330, 9630, Palm Pre, Palm Pixi, HTC Hero, EVO, etc. After having the Style for a few weeks it's safe to say that it is perfect for my needs.
It has a great keyboard, great camera and OS6 runs smooth and fast. The phone does have a smaller battery than most other phones, and while it doesn't last as long as a Bold (which is 30% more capacity) It still gets me through a 16hr day with room to spare. Alot of people are on the Android kick and they think if a phone doesn't have a monster screen and 1ghz processor than it is less of a phone. Some people think that BlackBerry is outdated but that doesn't make them any less useful.
After trying other phones, I keep coming back to BB for the ease of use and little things that only BB does right (battery life, sleep holsters, charging pods, shortcuts, profiles, spell correction, customization, etc) Most importantly, I'd say BB is dependable. I can't count how many Android apps I had that would just stop working for no reason or just bugs in the OS in general. Highly recommend the Style!

Pros: The full blackberry qwerty keyboard, OS 6 , Great call quality, browser is awesome, and contary to cnet believe its not that bulky atleast not for a clamshell phone
Cons: very simple con's the navigation takes time with the trackpad, and the key's are a little flat

Summary: This product proves that rim is trying and is a very good example of what RIM should be doing, they tryed something radical atleast i had never seen a qwerty keyboard inside a clamshell phone before and it suceeded for the most part, instead of relaeasing the tryed and true they should try something radical, because eventually people are going to get bored of the same sizze same keyboard blackberry while they should keep the best parts they should try something new like maybe a touchscreen on a bold,

Best phone I've ever had.

Summary: This is such a thoughtfully designed product. Folded up its small and fits comfortably in your pocket. Open, with its contour, it fits well to your ear, unlike your typical big brick shaped design of most phones now a days. With the clam shell I finally don't have to worry about butt dialing people or constantly locking the keyboard.
I've never liked the touch screen keypad and the Blackberry keyboard is a great improvement. Yes, the keys are flatter than other BB products but that really doesn't bother me.
I'm an iPad lover, so I do like a touchscreen navigation, but not on a phone. Its too small to be convenient and the screen is always nasty and smudgy. My fingers aren't the size of small sausages, but they're not the fingers of a teenage girl either, so the trackpad, is a far better solution. Navigation is quick and easy and the screen stays smudge free.
The OS6 is awesome. This is simply the easiest phone to use. Surfing is quick and easy. Screen is easy to read. You can bookmark sites like we're all used to doing.
Battery life has been good. Camera's a breeze.
It doesn't try to do too much. Were as most phones feel like you need to take a class to use and you always feel like you're missing something - this phone is very intuitive.
So there you go. That's my two cents. If I run into something I hate, I'll update the review.7 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.

Feels awesome!
by kobnyc on November 5, 2010
Pros: Looks GREAT! Flip is real nice. Great feel in the hands, open and closed, and solid, sturdy heft. Crystal clear screen and OS 6 is Awesome! Sound quality is superb, like all BB's. BlackBerry did justice to the fully QWERTY in a very cool flip design!
Cons: Casing solid, but slippery. A rubberized coating would bo cool. Keyboard flatter than on the Bold. A tad more raised/angled, like on 9650 would be perfect. Number keys same color as letters. Red, like on the Bold 9650 would be a great improvement.
Summary: Never realized how much I missed the old style flip phone until this baby came out! It is solid, great heft and feel. The OS6 is great. Screen is crystal ...
Summary: Never realized how much I missed the old style flip phone until this baby came out! It is solid, great heft and feel. The OS6 is great. Screen is crystal clear, sound quality awesome! Another reviewer here is trashing the calender functionality... Don't understand that. I am a long time BB power user. Curve, Storm Tour with Verizon. Tour, Bold and now Style w/ Sprint and I have not even noticed any uncomfortable issues. with calendar functions. Different calendar layout, yes, but I actually like it better than the OS5. I use it often and a lot. No issues or complaints. Great phone and a WINNER for BlackBerry and Sprint! Killer looks too. Definitely has 'style'.
Who needs 250,000 apps anyway?? Tired of the 'app' argument. Every app I need for business and pleasure I've been able to find on BB AppWorld so far and I got's me alot of apps on my BB.
Nice job BlackBerry! You do need to bump up the processor though folks. C'mon now. You ARE lagging in this area, so time to catch up!6 out of 6 users found this user opinion helpful.

Finally a quality smartphone in a FLIP PHONE design

Summary: I've been wanting a new smartphone for a long time. Unfortunately, I do not like the trend with the monster sized open faced Iphone type smartphones. I have always preferred a flip phone and for me its stupid that this "common sense" design has disappeared. The assumption is that everyone surfs the web 24/7 or plays movies and games on their smartphone. Thats not true. A lot of us just want to utilize smartphone features for use as an organizer, messaging/email, and the ability if needed to hit the web for some info. I don't need a monster sized screen to do these things. I hope we see more smartphones in the flip phone design.

Summary: As over-fifty slow adopters, we had been reluctant to try a smart phone, including a blackberry. This phone has been so quick and easy to learn our way around. We were able to use the phone and texting functions immediately, and have been customizing and using the many, many other helpful and/or fun apps. The track pad is so quick and easy to use. I love that it flips closed and I can set it on the table at meetings and see if I get important calls or messages without being unduly distracted. I thought I would feel intimidated, but I feel like a "power user" after only a week. My only con is that with the flip format, the camera lens is located right where your finger normally is, and you have to remember to hold it somewhat awkwardly to take pictures. The pictures are great, though. I love this phone.

alot of phone at a great price
by ejmarta on November 10, 2010
Pros: Forget what you have heard this blackberry exceeded my expectations. the key board is is just fine despite what some saying the keys are too flat. nice to have a clamshell phone again nice design great resolution on the screen.
Cons: would be nice if the phone came with some kind of a case that protects this phone. Sprint Stores don't have anything so far.
Summary: The setup of this phone is quick and easy, apps download at a respectable speed. have not owned a clamshell phone in years and blackberry surprised me with this offering ...

Excellent style, much better browser
by jarllopart on November 6, 2010
Pros: The OS 6 browser is a huge improvement, the email & messaging are more user-friendly, the home screen is better organized, and the universal search is amazing!
Cons: The keyboard is too flat for my fingers, but I'm adjusting; the camera lens is positioned right where I hold the phone one-handed, so I have to move my fingers to take photos; the battery life is shorter than my old BB Curve.

Summary: I am so fed up with this phone. My husband and I got them when they had just come out. We happened to be looking for new phones around that time (Dec 2010). I am so disgusted right now because I can't even listen to a voice-mail because my phone is so "frozen". I will have to.....yet AGAIN..... turn it off and take out the battery to get it to work. THEN! You have to wait for the phone to reboot. It's soooo annoying. I am ready for a new phone already.
