The good: The RIM BlackBerry Torch 9810 has a sharp, colorful, and responsive touch screen along with a full slide-out keyboard. BlackBerry OS 7 promises support for augmented-reality apps, voice-activated universal search, a new Liquid Graphics technology, an improved Web browser, and more. Other upgrades include a 1.2GHz processor and 720p HD video recording. It's very affordable.
The bad: The BlackBerry Torch 9810's design is very similar to its predecessor, with the same feature set as before.
The bottom line: The BlackBerry Torch 9810 won't wow newcomers with its tired old design, but its affordable price and much-improved specs should keep BlackBerry enthusiasts satisfied.

Summary: The BlackBerry Torch 9810 is simply a fantastic phone, by far one of the best RIM has launched. With it's higher resolution screen, much improved processor and snappy OS, I'm in love - and I've been using BlackBerries for years.
Sorry, the Last line of the "Pros" section is supposed to say "full featured."
With the launch of the new line of OS 7 BlackBerries including the Torch 9810, RIM has introduced what they call "Liquid Graphics," which allows for high resolution displays, and smooth OS navigation. It really does make a difference, the new screen is bright and vivid. Along with Liquid Graphics, the new 1.2 GHz processor also makes a huge difference in the phone. After using the device for a couple weeks, I can honestly say I have yet to see lag of any kind, even when I'm doing several things at once. There are several improvements with the new operating system as well, such as the ability to "turn off" the different home screens if you don't need them. A better browser is included, which actually is a big improvement over OS 6. Although there's still no Flash support, pinch to zoom as fast, and there's often little to no checker boarding even on complex webpages.
The Torch 9810 isn't perfect, however. Although the new 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor is a huge improvement in the BlackBerry world, it's still not on par with the competition, as many of which are now sporting duel core chipsets. BlackBerry App World is also falling farther and farther behind Apple's App Store and the Android Market. Overall app selection is few and far between, and it's missing even some of the most popular apps on other platforms. Lastly, OS 7 isn't actually a huge upgrade from OS 6, and if you're looking or an entirely new experience on the BlackBerry platform, this isn't it. Sure the icons are different and there's a few other noticeable changes, but in the end RIM really should have just called this one OS 6.1.
So, is the Torch 9810 the revolutionary device that'll forever change the BlackBerry platform? No. It is, however, a speedy, multifunctional phone with a great screen, a solid build quality, (I've dropped mine twice now, not a scratch) and a great keyboard. The few drawbacks shouldn't keep you from considering the 9810, whether you're new to BlackBerries, or are simply upgrading from another model.

I'm not sure where the sudden contempt for RIM products is based nor why but I do know that much of the criticism is not based on much substance. The new Torch 9810 is a winner in a number of ways.
Yes, the 9810 kept the same form factor as the 9800 and, for some reason; people think this is a con. But wait a minute! Look at the Thunderbolt, Evo, Atrix, and even the beloved iPhone and tell me what's so good about those form factors. As far as I'm concerned, the Torch's was and still sports a far superior look and feel than any of those 'candy-bar' styled designed. The Torch is sleek and chic while the others are just ... eh. I'm glad RIM kept the design.
You'll notice right away that what calls "Liquid Graphics" technology, is a speedy and responsive touch experience in both browsing the web and opening and operating various apps. While it's not dual core, you'd never know because the device performs very well in a rapid sense.
The touchscreen key board is not as efficient as other devices in its class, but it's good enough that you should experience a minor number of input errors (as far as touch keyboards go). Not to worry though, there's a reason for the Torch's existence and reason happens to be dynamic of offering the user a choice between a physical keyboard and a touchscreen keyboard. Too many errors for your taste? Well, simply push the slider up and it reveals a very functional, physical, QWERTY keyboard. BlackBerries are known for their better keyboards. This one, while cramped, does surprisingly and well. Typing is very rapid. Then there's the familiar track pad. It is the Torch's best kept secret. What it does is give the touch and scroll functions speedy accuracy especially when selecting text and images. Use it in conjunction with scrolling and touch screen ability and you'll find a browsing and user input experience like no other device on the market (save, the Torch 1). It is a complete joy once you get used to it.
The 9810 sports a 3.2 inch screen with a 640x480-pixel resolution. While other devices have an even higher resolution, you can barely tell if at all because the pixel density of the Torch provides and sharp, clear, and eye popping display. You have to see thing. And when I shot a few videos in 720 HD, I must say that I've never seen a clearer picture on a smartphone. Viewing the video is almost like you're looking at the actual thing through a squeaky clean window.
Navigating through the 9810 is simple and quite intuitive. If you're used to the Android paradigm, you may be annoyed that the panels are not customizable. However, the panel structure that's set should suffice most anyone's needs - All categories - favorites - media - downloads - and frequent. The folders are, however, customizable in that you can place any app in any of the given folders that you choose and, yes, you can create your own folders.
The voice enabled universal search is a wonderful and welcome addition in OS 7. I simply tap the microphone; say what I'm looking for a tap "done". OS 7 will return searches of anything that exists (or even possibilities) on my phone that my inquiry demanded.
The device is shipped with a full version of "Documents to Go" which is an app that allows viewing and editing Microsoft Office documents. While it certainly cannot match the PC version of the software, this app has bailed me out of many situations where certain documents needed producing and/or editing on the fly. Now that I have it again already installed on my 9810, I'm confident that I have a real productivity tool in my smartphone.
The CNET reviewer hesitates to call the phone 4G but I won't. In all actuality, the "G" in 4G stands for generation. It has nothing to do with speed. And like she said it's quite fast. There is an abundance of information out there detailing HSPA+ and 4G so you can look it up but you'll only find that in terms of actual speed, it's a distinction without a difference.
Let's also not forget - this is a BlackBerry. And with that, you enjoy wonderful and unparalleled social media - BlackBerry Messenger. And now, you can opt to purchase the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and again, you'd enjoy an experience that is offered by no other devices.
And now the really good part. AT&T is offering this phone (with a 2 year contract) at a price point of $49.99. So what are you going to be using your phone for ... ? Let's see, ... texting, emailing, web browsing, maybe some games (like the pre-installed Need for Speed oh yeah), and you might even try some light office document editing on the go. Well, you won't find a better device to do all that at that price.

Pros: This phone has a great look and feel. I love the ablity to use both the touch screen and the keyboard. It's fast and easy to use. I love the documents to go.
Cons: No flash player! This makes it very difficult to watch videos other than youtube. It also has very limited apps available. I only see apps for iphone and android phones. Battery life could be better but it isn't that bad.

I just don't like anything apple I've used in the past and B. because I hate touch screen keyboards. That really limits you to a blackberry device. However no one told me that while it has full web capablities it doesn't have adobe flash. Turns out most smart phones don't and that it isn't RIM but adobe to blame but it still sucks. Also the limiting amount of apps and their high pricing was kinda a bummer. I really love my phone but I'd like it even more if I could watch the news on it. Really for a $50 phone it's great but I was expecting a little more.

I've had my eye on the smartphone market for two years; and this Torch 9810 was the first time I tested a phone that made me say YES because it's got what I like most. I'm happy to take a good slide-out keyboard plus a nicely responsive touch screen; solid email; and reports of good call quality, decent stability, and Blackberry's stand-out security. That's for starters.
I had read reviews of no-fun Blackberrys not keeping up in the age of Droids and i-goodies. And I also had used a Blackberry 8810 for work (which I found faulty and difficult to use in important ways). This new thing I got yesterday seems a world away from that old Blackbeery! I'm very pleased to find a lot more to use and enjoy in the apps. So far, the mix of productivity and pleasures is a whirlwind of nice. That's just what I'm looking for in a phone.
Bonus: my purchase lets me cast a vote of support for a minority market player that once was a major innovator.
After my 3-year old LG Lotus (which had delivered the features I most wanted) stumbled and hobbled on Sprint's sadly choking, fritz-o network in New York City... I bolted from Sprint after 12 years. The AT&T Wireless store set me up with this pocket-rocking Blackberry Torch 9810 for a sweet price.
So far, I'm buoyed on day one. Lots of great stuff. Hoping it stays that way as the device gets put to use over time. -

Pros: The slick and speedy OS7 platforms closes the gap between this unit and its competitors. Web browsing, multitasking, and interfacing are a breeze. Screen resolution is noticably improved over the 9800. Battery life is superb.
Cons: No front-facing camera.

Pros: Price was good, easy to sync to Outlook, easy to access battery(but then you will need to). I anticipated an improved 9800 - what I had before.
Cons: Had it two months and have had numerous SIM card errors. Contacted ATT warranty-now I know why they are at the bottom-the kind of people you would like to invite over for a hamburger.
Summary: Contacted BB they told me to go through the proper channels,back to AT&T. They expect you to go by the store every three weeks and get another ...
