The good: The HTC Aria is compact, feature rich smartphone that runs on Android version 2.1 with HTC's Sense user interface. It has a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, and supports Wi-Fi and 3G networks.
The bad: The Aria's smaller display makes for a cramped onscreen keyboard. Its camera doesn't have a flash and you can't install non-Market apps.
The bottom line: The HTC Aria is a solid, midrange Android smartphone, but it's a shame AT&T restricts it by blocking Android's capability to install third-party apps.

by mrtasle on July 13, 2010
Pros: Light Weight. Fast. Sense UI
Cons: Battery Door. They put the antenna in the door and the battery door doesn't fit securely. there are issues about this posted on the Web. It is crippled by ATT and the accessories are very hard to find. Voice Quality and Battery life ar subpar

Summary: I really like the phone idea but ATT didn't execute it properly. They're too busy pushing a horrible iphone and that appears to be where all of their energy is. They also will not let us know when or if this phone will get a 2.2 update
After having the phone for just over a week, I'll be trading it in for a Captivate. It is a great phone but it is falling down in 2 areas. Calls are muddy and I think there is a flaw in how the battery cover was made. It is a little wobbly by the ear piece

Good Try but battery life and unstable OS
by fpietter on July 2, 2010
Pros: Pretty UI, good integration of facebook and htc sense
Cons: Unstable OS, apps and utilities such as the keyboard component would crash for no reason... I've just returned it
Summary: If you're not a heavy user, just go and get it... otherwise go for something more powerful.

Be VERY careful with this phone!

Summary: Unless you like to pamper your phone, don't buy this one. I have had mine for two weeks, loved it. I wanted to change the Micro SD card, so I tried to remove the battery cover (which is very difficult to do by the way). In attempting to remove the cover, the screen shattered, yes, completely shattered. I didn't drop it, step on it or throw it (all things that happened with my Blackberry with no damage). I can only imagine what would have happened if I would have dropped it. I cannot imagine going two years (length of my contract) without ever dropping my phone. HTC R&D department, you had better go back to the drawing board. Overall I would have to give this phone a very good rating, however, do to it's frailty, I can give it no more than one half a star.

Needs a lot of work on the software and structurally.
by JDFlow on July 29, 2010
Pros: The ability to download files on the go and view flash webpages. Custom notification settings.
Cons: Couldn't fit them all here. See below in the "bottom line summary".
Summary: Keyboard is a little too small. Email integration is terrible. Smart links only work sometimes. A lot of the HTC widgets don't update unless you open the program, so ...
Summary: Keyboard is a little too small. Email integration is terrible. Smart links only work sometimes. A lot of the HTC widgets don't update unless you open the program, so why have a widget? Calls sound hollow. Speaker is tinny and quiet. The build quality is horrible, no way this things lasting through a 2 year contract. Apps randomly launch in the background and I've used three different task managers.
I came from an iPhone and am going right back. The idea of the sense UI is genius, once it actually works in a few years ill be all over it. Until then you simply can't beat the iPhone.0 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Bonnie Cha is for Grandpa's. Get someone upbeat!!!
by pyledriver32 on December 4, 2010
Pros: Bonnie is boring and should be a 3rd grade teacher, not touting the latest and greatest technology on the planet!!! CNET is upbeat and for the tech savy, not slo-mo savy....stick to auditing and writing the aritcles...her vid reviews stink.
Cons: Bonnie is NOT a vid-reviewer personality. PLEASE replace her with someone upbeat and not so robotic. Everytime she comes on reviewing an awesome new product...I cringe
Summary: please pull bonnie from vid reviews. she's terrible and not a good representative of the upbeat, tech-savy fast moving technology field a vid-jocky needs to be. Get someone to ...
