The good: The HTC Droid Incredible is blazingly fast, thanks to Verizon's 3G network. HTC Sense enhances the features of Android 2.1, and the smartphone features an 8-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal memory. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G are all onboard.
The bad: You can't use voice and data at the same time. The multimedia experience is adequate but still behind the competition.
The bottom line: With its polished design and user interface, and blazing fast speeds, the HTC Droid Incredible takes pole position as Verizon's top smartphone and is now the Android device to beat.

When you put an adjective like Incredible in a product name, it better deliver the goods, otherwise you end up looking pretty foolish and probably have a bunch of angry customers on your hands. Fortunately for HTC and Verizon, though, it looks like this won't be the case because the Droid Incredible lives up to its name and then some. While the Android 2.1 smartphone doesn't offer any new, groundbreaking features, what it does better than any other Android product on the market right now, including the Motorola Droid and Nexus One, is enhancing those features with better software (courtesy of HTC Sense) and combining it with a sleek design and lots of power.
Though a lot of eyes may be on the Sprint HTC Evo 4G and we have little quibbles here and there, we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Droid Incredible. It's hands-down Verizon's best smartphone, and one of the best and fastest Android devices on the market right now, so much so that we deem it worthy of our Editors' Choice award. The Droid Incredible by HTC will be available from Verizon Wireless on April 29 for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.
Design
The Droid Incredible is another example of HTC's and Design & Company's handiwork. Though the overall shape and design is similar to many touch-screen smartphones on the market, it's the finer details and the HTC Sense user experience (more on this later) that make the Droid Incredible different and a step above the rest.
Roughly the same size as the Nexus One, the Droid Incredible officially measures in at 4.63 inches tall by 2.3 inches wide by 0.47 inch thick and 4.59 ounces. It does feel a bit plasticky compared with the Nexus One, but it also finally gives Verizon customers (well, those who can live without a physical keyboard) a viable alternative to the Motorola Droid, as it still offers some of the higher-end features, such as the Snapdragon processor and high-resolution display, that are missing on the carrier's other Android device, the Droid Eris.
Oh, and what a beautiful display that graces the mug of the Droid Incredible. The capacitive touch screen measures 3.7 inches diagonally and has a WVGA resolution (480x800) just like the Nexus One, but in a side-by-side comparison, the Incredible's display appears smoother and more vibrant than that of the Nexus One.
In addition, it felt more responsive, registering every touch right away and providing a smooth scrolling experience. The built-in accelerometer was quick to change screen orientation, and the proximity sensor kicks in as soon as you hold the phone up to your ear to take a phone call. Our only complaint about the screen would be that it's pretty hard to read in bright sunlight and like many others, the touch screen is an absolute magnet for fingerprints and smudges, so we'd recommend keeping a screen wipe close by at all times.
The onscreen keyboard is HTC's own rather than the standard Android keyboard, which is fine by us since the buttons are slightly bigger for easier typing, especially in portrait mode. We made fewer mistakes and could type a bit faster on the Incredible than the Nexus One. That said, we were definitely jonesing for Swype after having experienced how fast and accurate it could be. Currently, Swype for Android is in closed beta.
Below the display, you have four touch-sensitive shortcut keys--home, menu, back, and search--and below them is a new optical joystick. Much like the ones found on the HTC Legend and the HTC Desire, it replaces the trackball navigator found on previous devices and operates much like a trackpad; you simply move your thumb over the control in the direction you want to move and you can even press down to select an item. Overall, it works as advertised, but the smaller size of the button makes it a bit awkward at first. In general, we used it mostly to scroll and select a smaller item on a Web site, such as a link, and used the touch screen for everything else.
There are very few other physical buttons on the Droid Incredible. On the left side, there's a volume rocker and a Mini-USB port and on top of the device, you'll find a power button and 3.5mm headphone jack. As with most all handsets, the camera and in this case, the dual LED flash, are housed in the back but what's unusual about the Droid Incredible is the back's topographic design and the phone's innards. Instead of a smooth surface, the battery door has bumps and ridges, and it's only after you pop it off that you realize it actually follows the lines of the internal parts of the phone. You'll notice that the insides of the phone are red. Does it add any value to the smartphone? No. But can we appreciate that HTC wanted to highlight some of the engineering that went into the device and make it beautiful inside and out? Absolutely.

User interface
Many have asked about the difference between the Droid Incredible and the Nexus One, and one of the key differentiators is HTC Sense. The Droid Incredible uses Sense, whereas the Nexus One uses the standard Android user interface.
While there will be purists who prefer the standard Android skin, in most cases, we'd choose a device running Sense, and we think it's something that actually gives the Droid Incredible a competitive advantage. Out of all our custom skins for Android (Motoblur, TouchWiz, etc.), Sense is our absolute favorite. Not only does it give Android a more user-friendly interface, it actually, in many cases, improves on the core functions by better integrating the features.
Just like the Legend and Desire, the Droid Incredible runs the newer version of HTC Sense, which was announced at Mobile World Congress 2010. This includes a revamped mail widget that can take you to a list view of all your e-mail instead of just one message at a time. Once in the mail app, there's a handy tabbed interface at the bottom that lets you view unread messages, attachments, meeting invites, and more with a simple touch. The Agenda widget also now displays your whole agenda on the screen, and like the HTC HD2, you get an animated weather widget right on the home screen that automatically displays the current conditions based on your location.
You also get a new Group Contacts widget, which lets you, well, organize your contacts by groups. For example, you can set up one for work colleagues, another for friends, and another for just family--whatever you please. The UI looks good, and it's simple to add contacts to a group, though removing them requires a few extra steps.
Another feature called Friend Stream provides a single place for all your social-networking needs, piping in updates from Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr all into a single place. Unlike Motoblur, it's not server-based; the phone connects to the sites and pulls information directly from there.
By far, our favorite new feature, however, is the Leap screen. By pinching the home screen (or pressing the home button if you're on the center panel), it brings up a thumbnail view of all your home screen panels, so if you have your favorite apps and widgets on those screens, you easily "leap" to the screen you want and access them. The Droid Incredible offers seven home screen panels, and there are different "Scenes," which presents a whole new set of seven home screen panels that you can customize by the theme of the Scene (Social, Work, Travel, Play, and so forth). Admittedly, it can be overwhelming, but the best part is that you can use as many or as few of the features as you want; the device is completely customizable to your needs.
Features
Behind HTC Sense, the Droid Incredible is running Android 2.1, which means you'll get the latest features available, including live wallpaper, voice-to-text capabilities, and Google Maps Navigation. The smartphone also comes with the usual Android staples, such as Gmail, Google Talk, a dedicated YouTube app, QuickOffice, and Android Market. HTC throws in a couple of its own extras as well, including its Twitter app, Peep, and Footprints, which allows you to geotag photos and add notes and audio clips to the "digital postcards," among other things. In addition, Verizon has its own channel in the Android Market, so you can easily find and download apps specific to the carrier, such as Visual Voice Mail, VZW Tones, V Cast Media Manager, and NFL Mobile.
Aside from Gmail, the smartphone supports multiple POP3, IMAP, and Exchange accounts and combines them in a unified in-box. There's a setup wizard when you first use to the device to help you bring in all your contacts from your various accounts, including the aforementioned e-mail types, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr. Often it's as simple as entering your user name and password, but you may need additional information when setting up your Exchange account. The Droid Incredible can sync your Exchange calendar and contacts as well. That said, we had some initial problems syncing our Exchange calendar to the Droid Incredible and had to remove and then add our account again to get it to work.
The contact management system is pretty good. If any of your contacts have Facebook updates, it will display them right next to their picture in the contact database. Again, Sense has done of nice job of making it easy to access as much information as possible with little effort. For example, you can see all your exchanges (text messages, call logs, etc.) with a single person from their contact card, and all your contacts are accessible within the phone app. However, we still had multiple instances of duplicate contacts and had to go back and manually link them together.
As a phone, the Droid Incredible offers a speakerphone, speed dial, smart dialing, voice commands, conference calling, and text and multimedia messaging with threaded chat view. Bluetooth, 3G, GPS, and integrated Wi-Fi are also onboard, and Verizon has said that the Skype Mobile app will be available for the Droid Incredible. The smartphone has the same WebKit browser as the Nexus One and Droid and offers Flash Lite and pinch-to-zoom support. If you want to use voice and data at the same time, you'll have to connect via Wi-Fi, because Verizon does not allow you use their network for voice and data simultaneously. The basic but drab music and video player have never been a selling point for Android, and that's still the case with the Droid Incredible, though HTC Sense adds a slightly more attractive interface to the player. Most important, however, is that it gets the job done and supports a good range of music and video codecs, including MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC, OGG, WMV, MP4, and 3GP. In addition, there's an FM radio, but it requires a headset with a built-in tuner, which Verizon does not include in the box.
There are plenty of streaming radio services available in the Android Market, however, and there are several ways to get music onto the phone. Android doesn't have a native app for syncing your music from your PC to your phone, so you can either connect via USB and use the old drag-and-drop method or use a third-party app such as DoubleTwist to sync with iTunes playlists, podcasts, and more. Of course, you can also browse and purchase songs right from your phone via the Amazon MP3 Store, but it doesn't come preloaded, so you'll have to download it first. Storing your media files won't be a problem since the Droid Incredible offers 8GB of internal memory and an expansion slot that supports up to 16GB cards.
Another area where the Droid Incredible bests the current crop of top smartphones is the camera. Rocking an 8-megapixel lens and dual LED flash, the smartphone took excellent photos indoors and outdoors. Pictures had a good color and sharp definition, and there was very little shutter lag. Nighttime shots still looked a bit gray and dull, but it was certainly better than most other camera phones, and objects were clearly defined in the image. The camera can also shoot video at WVGA resolution; the video quality was acceptable but a tad grainy.
Performance
We tested the dual-band (CDMA 800/1900; EV-DO Rev. A) HTC Droid Incredible in New York using Verizon service, and call quality was good, though not without issue. We enjoyed clear conversations with very little background noise or voice distortion, and there was plenty of volume--almost piercing at the highest level. Friends also reported good results with no major complaints about the audio quality on their side of the conversation. Though we didn't experience any dropped calls, there were a couple of instances where the sound cut out so we couldn't hear our caller. The situation was easily resolved by moving to a new spot, but it was nevertheless a bit annoying.
Speakerphone quality was nothing surprising. We could carry on conversations with relative ease and there was enough volume to continue in noisier environments, but callers did note that there was a slight echo. We paired the smartphone with the Logitech Mobile Traveller Bluetooth headset and the Motorola S9 Bluetooth Active Heaphones with no problem.
Verizon's 3G network provided reliable 3G coverage throughout our testing period and with swift speeds to boot. CNET's full site loaded in 16 seconds, and CNN's and ESPN's mobile sites loaded in 4 seconds and 5 seconds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Slacker Radio app (1.02MB) took 11 seconds to download from the Android Market. YouTube videos took a few seconds to buffer, but once going played continuously, though quality was a mixed bag. We had much better luck with our own MP4 files as clips played back beautifully with clear picture and robust sound. Despite having a lackluster music player, songs sounded rich and full through our on Bose On-Ear headphones.
Out of everything, though, the one aspect of the Droid Incredible that absolutely knocked our socks off is general performance. The smartphone is armed with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 512MB ROM and 512MB RAM and the Droid Incredible was one of the most responsive and fastest Android devices; heck, one of the fastest smartphones in general, that we've tested to date. The handset handled every task we threw at it without stumbling, and even with six open apps open, the Incredible never slowed down.
The smartphone comes with a 1,300mAh lithium ion battery with a rated talk time of 5.2 hours. In our battery drain tests the Droid Incredible provided 5.5 hours of continuous talk time on a single charge. In real-life usage, the smartphone was able to last just over day on a single charge with moderate use. According to FCC radiation tests, the Droid Incredible has a digital SAR rating of 1.4 watts per kilogram and a Hearing Aid Compatibility rating of M4/T3.

Pros: pure awesomeness and trumps current iphone on every single level. Next Iphone however will be a better competitor with front facing camera and faster processor.. but still this phone rocks. CNET needs to filter some of the BS reviews...
Cons: Pictures although 8 mp is still a bit grainy. Need an app/customization so the photo is taken by touchscreen or volume rocker. Center button causes phone to move when taking pics = blurry pics.

Summary: First things first, it has the best voice recognition software Ive ever seen and when paired with Google everything.... it makes life much simpler. Ive reduced the amount of text I have to input in text fields by 50%, all you have to do is speak what you want to type and it is accurate 90% of the time (depending on background noise of course). I can get a full voiced turn-by-turn directions in about 20 seconds flat just by using the voice input, instead of opening up the maps app and then typing my destination or searching first then selecting it. My Tom Tom car GPS is now completely obsolete.
OS: This phone is for people who are a bit more tech savvy and care about how/why a phone can do what it does. The Android OS is a bit more complex than the iPhone OS, but this is mostly due to the amount of customization available. The HTC Sense UI alleviates some of this with a unified inbox, friend stream, widgets, etc. The best part about this phone is that if you dont like something about the OS, there is usually a way to change it. Also, IF YOU DONT HAVE iTUNES or DONT LIKE iTUNES, YOU CAN STILL USE THE PHONE! Although the stock HTC and Android media players are not very good, you can download better players for free. There are syncing software out there that can help transfer music, movies, pics, docs, etc, but you can still mount the phone as an external HD and use the old drag'n'drop method to transfer anything you want. HTC Sense has plenty of useful widgets that can eliminate digging through menus, etc. and there are always more on the Android Market. Also, dont worry about how many Apps are available compared to the iTunes store..... there are plenty of good, free apps to download and besides how many do you really need? of the 100,000+ apps, probably only 40% are actually decent enough to download and of that 40%, how many do YOU actually need? Quality should be paramount over quantity
Hardware: As usual, the phone hardware is tops in the market right now, but will be surpassed in the near future. Its just the nature of the cell phone industry. Dont worry about other phones coming out w/ better specs, etc. The Incredible has enough RAM, processing speed, camera quality, touch sensivity, call quality, signal reception, and style to last you through a 2 year contract.... and by then, another awesome HTC phone will be available. Pop in a 16 gig micro SD card and you have 24 gigs of total storage. The processor is pretty fast, and it helps when "multi-taksing". I use quotations because most people dont intend to "multi-task" but do so inadvertently, i.e. listening to music while playing a game, then you get an email and check that. Then you go to the web browser to look up something, and finally you ask to navigate to an address. So far you just opened up the 1) music player 2) email client 3) web browser 4) Google Maps 5) Google Navigator. UNFORTUNATELY, all those applications will stay open until you close them (sucking up battery) so you need to download a free AppKiller that can close things once youre donr with them. But still, with 5 or more applications open, the phone does not slow down because of the 1 GHz processor.
Style: The form factor is great. Some dont like the rubbery & topographic battery cover, but I say it helps hold onto the device and prevents it from sliding when placed on inclined surfaces (car dashboard, couch, your lap, etc ). The display is amazing, has one of the top resolutions out there, but washes out in direct sunlight. The phone is just as thin as an iPhone and the optical trackball is actually useful. SERIOUSLY, people frown at extra physical buttons on the front face, but the 1) Home 2) Back 3) Menu 4) Optical trackball are time savers and MORE IMPORTANTLY fingerprint eliminators. If you can reduce the amount of finger swipes you have to make in order to perform a simple task, it helps reduce smudging up the beautiful screen.25 out of 31 users found this user opinion helpful.

Its much better than the Motorola Droid I had but a potential deal breaker has developed and that is the signal strength
Forgot to mention that when I am connected to 1X I can't get any data at all, the speedtest app just fails and the android market place says that its failed to connect
Now I know the bars on the phone are not a good indicator so I launched the android test application and sure enough I had like 4 to 5 bars in the DB sense of things so why am I complaining?
The 3G will not stay connected, I'm always on 1X I have tried this phone in all sorts of different areas around pittsburgh and the results are same I rarely connect to 3G and when I do its painfully slow. The speedtest.net application only reported .23MB download speed when I was able to connect to 3G. My Moto Droid on 3G would usually get around 1.50MB download. In fact my 3G speeds are very close to my 1X speeds on the Moto Droid which makes me think that even though my Incredible shows the 3G symbol that it may not be connected at all.
I will give this phone the full 30 days before I return it and return back to my iPhone 3GS (I hate AT&T so much). I ended up leaving Big Read 3 months ago after a month of terror with the Moto Droid.
I'm really hoping that this 3G issue gets fixed fast, this phone is as good or better than the iPhone and I really really really don't want to have to go back to AT&T.
Just checking now on my wifes Storm she has full signal and 3G and I have 2 bars showing (-78dB) and 1X

Updated on Jun 17, 2010Update: Today I finally sent the Incredible back the lack of 3G coverage was too much for me
Now I was able to make phone calls anywhere the 1X side of life was always full signal but my 3G even next to a tower was lacking.
I download an app in the market called Real Signal (Free) it showed the bars and signal strength for the 1X and the EVDO separately. The phones signal strength bar is not wrong its perfectly correct its showing you the signal strength of the EVDO not the 1X almost everywhere Real Signal was showing full 1X signal and practically no EVDO(3G).
Now I emailed HTC about this issue and they said its a known issue and they are working on it but couldnt give me a time frame, I think thats bull there is an issue wit hthe 3G chip for sure.
Now verizon was kind enough to send me a replacement to try but it was the same, the best thing they did was extend my worry free guarantee which allowed me to return the phone today without penalty
Updated on Jun 17, 2010I reactivated my Blackberry Storm which to my great surprise had a giant Software update since I last used it the phone actually is pretty great if it had WIFI I would be more than happy to use it for a long time.
When I returned the incredible today they representative showed me a new phone (a flyer) called the Motorola Droid X now that phone looks simply amazing and it was even better than the EVO,
Right now the Incredible is on back order till July 14th which is like 5 days short of this new phones release if you are considering the Incredible I would wait and get the Droid X Motorola phones were always solid devices I will not buy and HTC product again my last 3 phones where HTC's and they were all so far Garbage,
1.) HTC Touch Pro 2, sooooooo slow (Likely because of Windows Mobile)
2.) HTC Droid Eris, Really really slow and sluggish
3.) HTC Incredible, Awesome device, poor 3G signal, poor wifi
Updated on Jun 17, 2010Final update on this review since I no longer have the phone the WIFI chip was also very poor in this phone, more than 5 feet from any one of my 6 Access Points in my house and the Incredible would give up and switch to 1X, my laptops all reported excellent signal strength in my home no matter where because I have 2 access points on each floor. Now my access points all have the same SSID but are on different channels its seems like the incredible would grab my upstairs access point North Facing since it was channel 6 which is the default common channel on Wireless G so perhaps this could be fixed with a software update. My iPhone, HTC Touch Pro 2 and laptops had no issues what so ever connecting and always showed full signal strength27 out of 38 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I got the Droid Incredible after having a Blackberry tour and Motorola Droid. This is the best by far. If only for the processing speed alone, it's worth the money. No lag or slowdowns, even with multiple apps running. The camera is at least as good as the Motorola droid. The screen is awesome. Responsive and bright. I was at first very worried about typing without a keyboard (especially after coming from a blackberry), but this screen is so big that I'm not finding it to be a problem. Android is a GREAT OS. I loved it on the Motorola Droid and I love it on the Droid Incredible. Once you get used to it you really see how outdated the blackberry OS is.
Battery life is pretty good. In my test day I was streaming music from pandora, browsing the interent, and texting. I got a full day of use and that will probably increase once the battery cycles a few times. Yes, I would love a smartphone that could go five days without a charge, but really the Droid Incredible's battery life is on par with what your going to find in smartphone these days. Battery tech is still catching up to smartphone energy demands. That being said, is it really that hard to plug in a phone every night?
Overall, GREAT smartphone. If you want a touch screen only smartphone with Android, there arn't any better (for now).27 out of 38 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: I'm finicky about phones. I held onto my Blackberry while passing on the Storm, the Eris and the Droid. Since the iPhone isn't coming out soon, I bought the Incredible based on my gut. The Incredible is just that: Truly incredible.
Cons: Everything. I'm pretty much blown away. As the title of my review indicates, "Who needs the iPhone?"

Summary: Maybe it's because I live in NYC but I haven't even come close to dropping a call and my reception is fine. The battery life is surprisingly good. My charge lasts an entire day with moderate internet and phone usage. Many people warned me that I wouldn't receive my emails as quickly as with my Blackberry. Not a problem - I receive my hotmail and pop (business) emails almost instantaneously. The browser speed is outrageous - almost as fast as my home computer. I kid you not. The interface is gorgeous and user-friendly. I've never owned a touch screen and was able to pick it up with ease in a day or so. I was concerned about the keyboard because I'm not a spring chicken and I have clunky fingers. Big surprise. The keyboard, at least when turned to landscape is not a problem. Not a problem at all. The interface is gorgeous and I'm having so much fun with all the free Apps (especially, Open Table and Swirl - I'm a foodie!). Oh, did I mention that the phone is a whopping 8 mega-pixels. Are there glitches? Sure. Voice dial has a long way to go yet, synching to Outlook was troublesome initially and navigation probably could be simpler. I'm still having some trouble with call waiting but I probably just need to read the manual for answers. All-in-all, I'm thrilled.

Pros: Nice screen, love Sense UI, more polished than Moto Droid's software appearance.
Cons: Battery (and I'm serious about this, as compared to MotoDroid's), Antenna is weak, signal was dialing down to 1X, with barely 1 bar in same spot my Moto Droid was getting 3G and full bars.

Pros: Lightning fast, beautiful display, slim form factor.
I was one of the few hundred lucky people that recieved my Incredible early due to Verizon computer glitch.Had Moto Droid, Just too bulky and never used physical keyboard.Cons: As with most smart phones the battery life could be a little better. Be sure the first thing you do is to download a task killer App. I can make it through a full day with normal use on a single charge.

After owning the Incredible for about a week I can honestly say the battery life is pretty impressive. I can make it through a 14 hour day with fairly heavy use. Also reception and call quality are exellent. When talking to someone they can't even tell I am on a cell phone. All 3 of these quality's are better than my previous Droid cell phone.

Love the Iphone but hate ATT's Service? Get this phone!

Pros: Face it guys- Nothing will ever live up to the iphone. Apple and the iphone are a different way of life altogether. So do you love the iphone, but love Verizons service? This is your phone then! Don't wait because its getting backorderd already.
Cons: No cons yet! I haven't experienced the problems mentioned by others. Other reviewers should give it more time before making drastic remarks. I had the iphone, and this is very similar. If you love the iphone but love Verizon's service, get it!

Summary: First of all, I have been one of those people lucky enough to have experienced ATT Wireless & Verizon and the service they provide at the same time. My work phone is an IPHONE. My personal cell is from Verizon. So I can compare the HTC Incredible to a popular competitor. I wont bore with every detail as there are many websites for this, but hands down, the Incredible is by far the closest thing to my IPHONE. The only 2 differences I can mention are the better battery life of the Incredible, and the better service on my Incredible from Verizon in my area. The only variable being the service because I know for a fact this can vary from one city to the next etc. My iphone 3gs dies midway through the day. The Incredible seriously went from 9am-9pm today 4/29/10 until it died, with way heavier web and application running than my iphone 3gs. The service and 3G bars were all there. I wont bore you, if you love the iphone, love Verizon reliable service, buy it-period!

Pros: Coming from Windows Mobile, the interface was easy to learn and use. The linking of email account information was a very nice feature. The APP store is both interesting and alarming since it would be easy to load something inappropriate.
Cons: The back cover is very flimsy and I am concerned about moisture protection. But the primary concern is the device locked up over and over again to the point where it had to be returned.

Summary: I received the phone on Thursday. I began yanking the battery to overcome the system locking up on Thursday evening. I worked with Verizon support on Friday (learned how to bring up the boot screen by the way, just hold down the optical mouse button when powering up). I dropped in back into the Fed-x to be returned on Saturday. A replacement phone may take up to three weeks since the devices are on back order (seems like they did not plan on any of the devices failing). So, for the few hours I had it and it worked, I was pleased. Let's hope my device was a fluke and the replacement is solid. I would strongly advise buying this phone to not load any additional APPS until the out-of-the-box functionality is well understood and the key features are utilized to ensure they are functioning as expected.
When debugging an issue with a smart phone, the first question poised by the Verizon help desk is 'What APPS have you downloaded?". In addition, there are APPs on the Android marketplace which my be poorly designed and can adversely affect the operation of the phone. Several APPS were specifically called out by the help desk as being known problems. So, inappropriate APPS in this case means any application for which I have neither personal experience or a reliable review to help me make a download decision.

Fantastic AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic LED) Screen - very bright and vivid.
Phone quality and reception is great. A couple of people who didn't know that I got a new phone asked if I did because of sound quality. Speaker phone is not as loud but great. Anne's mom hates it when I put her on the speaker phone because she cannot hear me well. I called her, put her on the speaker phone and carried on a conversation without her complaining once about the fact she was on the speaker phone.
Love the VIP widget where you can do one touch call to a anyone in the VIP list. I only call less than 10 people on a regular basis so it works well not having to go through all my business contacts to find these contacts.
I've heard a lot of gripe about exchange email integration and Android. Frankly, I was a bit worried. To my surprise, it was a breeze, it functions extremely well. Watch out BlackBerry, this frankly was a better email client with again a VIP list, one touch email filtering by conversation, flagged etc...
Browser is fast and to my surprise just as good as the webkit iPhone browser. Flash plug-in works ok and I felt it was a great addition to the mobile browsers.
Camera is very good and takes great pictures. Center metering mode works best. The video camera is also stunning for a phone camera, there is no HD option, but I don't think I'd need it, obviously these wont replace still cameras and HD video cameras.
The best thing about the phone is the UI and performance. The mix of the Android UI with Sense UI by HTC makes this phone one of the best in the market. I think Sense picks up where Android lacks. I'd say this by far is the best contender to the iPhone UI. (Shhhhh.... I think it maybe better, but I can't call it because I don't use an iPhone on a day to day basis).
It is extremely fast and responsive, I've ran multiple apps, 3D games without even a hiccup. With all these open I tried Google Wave on it, which is not really made to run on a mobile phone, yes, then, it choked.
The other surprising thing is this phone makes most of the tasks like composing a message, looking up information and navigation a breeze - you don't have to type it just say it. Voice to text works extremely well even with my Sri Lankan accent!
The Bluetooth audio seems to sound stronger and better, I listen to Pandora on the way to work and I used to have to turn up the volume on my car stereo to hear it decent. With the Incredible I don't have to turn the radio up so much.
The Bad:
I miss convenience keys on the side for voice prompt and the camera. The track pad works well but is useless because the touch screen does most of what the track pad does.
The battery life is poor, but I expected that and I'm used to it. When you have bluetooth and WiFi off it is a bit better.9 out of 9 users found this user opinion helpful.
