The good: The HTC HD7 features a large 4.3-inch display and has a solid build quality and integrated kickstand. The Windows Phone 7 device offers full wireless options, a 5-megapixel camera with HD video capture, and 16GB of internal memory.
The bad: The HD7 is on the bigger side and lacks expandable memory. Speaker is weak. Touch screen isn't quite as sharp or vibrant as the latest devices.
The bottom line: The hardware could use a bit of updating, but the HTC HD7 for T-Mobile combines the power of Windows Phone 7 with a large touch screen and delivers satisfying performance.

terrible in most respects.
by cheetahs13 on December 8, 2011
Pros: large screen, and some of the animation things are quite cool
Cons: extremely short battery life, poor functionality, frequent crashing, keyboard function poor, apps choice very limited (esp free apps), no folder system, inability to customise contacts (for example, with multiple mobile numbers) etc.
Summary: absolutely abysmal. you'd have thought that with it being a windows system, it would at least be compatible with just about everything, but it's the least compatible phone ...
Summary: absolutely abysmal. you'd have thought that with it being a windows system, it would at least be compatible with just about everything, but it's the least compatible phone i've ever had. definitely one to be avoided - i can't say whether windows is responsible for it being so bad or HTC<, but i'll do my utmost to never use a phone form either company again.

It doesn't stand up to my old HD2, no comparasion.
by i_hate_slackers on October 18, 2011
Pros: It does get netflix and it does have a built in stand.
Cons: Poor battery life. I had to recreate my contact list manually, there was no option to load the old contact list from my SIMM, even after I contacted customer support. The only thing the USB cord is good for is charging the weak battery, there was no pro

Summary: When my HD2 finally broke down (vibrator broke) i was so disappointed. T-Mobile told me that they would replace it with the HD7 which was similar to my HD2. Well, the only thing similar to my old phone is they look alike. My old HD2 could run longer, had better cell availability, would communicate with my notebook (the HD7 does not), and had a better and more intelligent front screen. The Windows 7 OS has a few more features then 6.5 but it does not make up the differences. Packing up my old HD2 for return was like saying goodbye to an old treasured friend. I would not call this a smart phone. It only is close to being a smart phone when i am lucky enough to actually connect to 3G, which is rare. I used to show off my HD2, this phone, i am going to hide in shame.

Force fed the HD7 as the only Tmobile phone for Windows

I believed the hype. HD7 was a terrible phone, Win 7 was not good etc. I am an advocate Windows user. The Shadow was terrible, graduated to HTC Pro II because it was suppose to upgrade to WP7 (Hype, not Fact) but I was stuck in a 2 year contract. Pro II finally died and I was force fed the HD7 as the only T-mobile alternative for Windows. HD-7 with WP7 is indeed a very good phone and the features continue to improve thru the Market place, transition to Apps are smooth, fast and quick to access. Did loose Bing Turn by Turn & the annunciation of incoming Text Message and Email Hope they come back (WHY, WHY??) Bing found my sisters house and a top GPS didn't, until the phone lost the cell tower, 20 miles in the Country. Real good phone does need better speaker system and T-Mobile, more than one phone to choose from, Please. Really thought I needed a Keyboard, but I don't...
This is the review posted on the T-Mobile website two weeks before receiving the Mango update. Now I all I can say is Work WINDOWS, Work It!! Got back my incoming text msgs read, Bing Turn by Turn; Talk to text is the BOMB, Transitions are like greased lighting, and updates that I am still finding. Work it Windows Work it. NOW T-Mobile you need to Work it with more phones running the Windows platform.. -

Summary: I had this phone for a couple of weeks, and as I really enjoyed the huge screen and watching movies/tv (esp with the kickstand) I couldn't get over the fact it was windows. I'm a dedicated android user just because there is so much more to do. The windows market doesn't really offer much and what is does offer you have to pay out the nose for. This phone was so much fun, kind of on the big side but overall and amazing phone if you can live without the android market!

MS has a long way to go to catch up with competition
by Lbal68 on July 2, 2011
Pros: Big screen, very good UI, some nice apps
Cons: Poor execution of mail for exchange (no self signed SSL certificates supported as in Android and iOS) - still can't sync my corporate mail although tried a few workarounds, no data usage counter or any other similar app, multitasking still missing, memor

Summary: Disappointing out of the box experience especially with push mail accounts as described above, gap with Google and Apple devices is pretty large. Personally due to the push mail issues, poor multi language support and limited market place, I am planning to return the phone ASAP and go for an Android device.
Since some of the cons. went missing here's the full list: no memory expansion with SD cards, poor multilanguage support, market is only available in a few countries, no drag'n'drop as in Android and even Nokia phones, limited support of audio/video files (when both iPhone and Android even support FLAC files with 3rd party apps), lack of accessories, i.e. HDMI adaptor, zune sw might be nice but still limits the OS potential, no OTA system updates as in Nokia/Android but only via zune, poor loudspeaker, average battery life, competition is moving ahead with 3D screens, dual processors, NFC chips, etc.

Summary: Overall, the phone is really good and really smooth. If you don't like large screen sizes (4.3 inches) then you should pass, but WP7 is a great operating system and most of the major apps like BBC and Facebook are there. XBOX Live is also awesome because I can sync I can sync it with my 360. Battery life is a bit poor, especially for heavy users, but most phones with large screens have that problem. I really like the phone and it works really well.
