The good: The HTC One V is affordable, compact, and elegant, and runs Android 4.0 and Sense 4. It has a nimble camera and colorful screen.
The bad: A slow processor and pokey 3G data hold the One V back.
The bottom line: Demanding Android fans won't like the HTC One V's slow performance but its premium design and low, no-contract price makes it a steal on Virgin Mobile.

Great phone for the Non contract crowd.

Summary: I was a long time Verizon Wireless user. However, every upgrade it seemed I had to pay more. I have no regrets switching to Virgin Mobile. If you have to have the latest greatest phone, then look elsewhere. Nor is this a heavy duty 3D gamer phone. However it does everything well. It does not handle too much multitasking without a bit of lag.
If you're looking for a solid phone with the latest Android software and a camera that works well and GPS that is actually useful, look into this little gem. The screen is excellent without feeling like you're carrying around a minitablet. Besides, how many of us actually watch 3hr movies on our phones anyway.
If you want the top end no contract phone, it's $650 iPhone 4s. If you want a large screen, get the Evo for $300. But if you want a solid if not spectacular phone that does the job, this $199 is well worth it.2 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

I wanted compact not carrying a small tablet was my choice. It's no Ferrari but I knew that going in. I'm not a heavy gamer so I'm fine with it's non quad processor.
I do have to thank the dozens of nit picking reviews I read before purchasing this phone because they've only caused me to be pleasantly surprised as most of the nit picking was just that, Nit picking.
Its camera, call quality, speed and preloaded apps are all better than expected.
Here in the greater Boston area reception is great and speed on 3g has not left me wanting. I've waited a while to review and sincerely can't find a thing that disappoints me.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great Droid phone and a great price
by SpikePsyche on October 10, 2012
Pros: Sleek, elegant design.
Sturdy casing.
Very responsive touch screen.
Excellent call quality.
Packs all the Droid features you need.Cons: 3G as opposed to 4G.

Summary: I was in a bind to replace my old cell which, after 3 years of use, finally died (touch screen failed). I wasn't ready to dish out major bucks for a new phone (finances are earmarked for NY Comic Con starting tomorrow!), so I did some comparative shopping and ended up bringing this one home.
I have to say, I am exceptionally pleased with this one so far. I downloaded most every app I use on my tablet, configured it easily to suit my geek life, and put it through some rigorous paces testing it out. Okay, 3G is a little yesterday, but even with that, it functions reliably. Any slowness in network or processing speeds is not off-putting.
At $159, this is a great buy.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

by RingoS357 on April 18, 2013

SD card problems (many users reporting, but by no means all)
Don't care for the chin (personal preference)
limited choice in accessories (cases, etc.)

Summary: A little slower than I would have liked, and long pauses occasionally when running apps. My One V is a little slower than I would have liked, and pauses occasionally when running apps. Mine has a problem with the dreaded "SD card removed/not present" message, and will not access some things on the SD card. Pictures are not accessible, but some apps still are??? My wife's One V does not have that issue. I have tried reformatting the SD, and a new SD, but no help there. No problem with the card in another phone or in the PC. Returning phone to the store for a replacement since I have only had it 5 months. has a problem with the dreaded "SD card removed/not present" message, and will not access some things on the SD card. I will say that it has physically held up very well so far. Not a scratch on it, including the screen. -

Overpriced, Limited by Sense, Alarm not reliable
by ohnomytaquitos on March 13, 2013

Summary: I wanted to like this phone. There are plenty of glowing reviews about how it's cheap and powerful, and easy to use. It is easy to use and powerful, but a $50 phone would have worked just fine.
The biggest flaw is the Sense software (that you cannot disable or remove). It is limiting, confusing to navigate, and can prevent the alarm from working. Several other users have had the exact same issue: http://androidforums.com/htc-one-v/609801-alarm-problems.html
I have been late to work 5 times now and will be buying another phone soon.
If you rely on a working alarm, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!! -
Some great features
by KRogers182 on September 20, 2012
Pros: The best point here has to be the price - it is fairly priced for the sort of features it holds. The battery life seems to be just as good as the iPhone, well the one I'm using anyway (I doubt its as good as the new iPhone battery life)
Cons: the camera is awful. whilst you might not be buying this phone for it's camera, in todays day and age and with current smartphone cameras you'd expect a lot better here.
Summary: Good budget phone with solid standard features, but you'd struggle to find any 'wow' factor with the One V
