HTC Status - white (AT&T) price range: $129.99 - $349.99

The good: The HTC Status is a well-made phone with a fantastic QWERTY keyboard and a slight bend to the body that makes texting that much easier. The Facebook button works as advertised, and it could be a great asset to anyone who's a Facebook fanatic.
The bad: The HTC Status has a tiny screen, with hard-to-read text and tedious scrolling. It also has an odd landscape-mode screen as a default, which makes portrait-only apps rather problematic to use.
The bottom line: The HTC Status offers stellar hardware and a fantastic Facebook experience, but it's hampered by a tiny landscape-oriented screen.

I've been dooped!
by hatsypatatsy on October 12, 2011
Pros: I like the keyboard and the curve of the phone. I also like how well the cover fits on it. Texting is easy, but that's about it. This is my first Smart phone and I'm wondering if they are all like this? Too hard to use and navigate around. I want to go
Cons: Data package...aren't they supposed to be unlimited? This thing is costing a fortune and all I'm doing is texting and making phone calls. And don't even get me started on the battery life, or lack thereof. I really hate not having a phone half the day be
Summary: I'm going back to the AT&T store today and plead ignorance and dissatisfaction with this thing. There's got to be a better phone for me out ...

Worst phone I've ever had
by stellerxie on September 4, 2011
Pros: Only thing I like about this phone is the dual keypad and touch screen.
Cons: The battery life is terrible. I charge at night and with just a few texts and a facebook ost or two it is completley dead before I get home from work. The memory is *********!!! I actually had to delete some text messages just so I could listen to music

Summary: This is one of the worst phones I have ever had. The battery life and memory are so horrible I can't believe anyone would like this phone. I have been very dissapointed with AT&T lately. Going to return this phone today and hopefully find something. Unfortunatly it seems as tho I can't trust reviews on this site however since it seems people actually like this phone! How could you like a phone that requires you to delete information just to view pictures in your gallery or listen to music that is already on your phone! Hopefully this review actually helps people... DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. There are a lot of kinks AT&T still has to work out with this one!

HTC Status is the Most Pathetic phone ever!!

Cons: Constant Memory Issues- See Summary Below

I have learned first hand why AT&T continues to rank last among national carries in customer service.
I have visited my local retail office(Fort Smith, Ar) and told them about my issue.
They told me they only thing they could do is to reset my phone. They said it was an HTC problem and that I should call them direct at 1-800-331-0500.
I contacted HTC and they informed that there are no patches or updates to the phone to solve the issues and that I would have to continuously have to reset the cache for all programs on the phone. If I wanted the phone replaced I would have to deal with AT&T.
The week of of November 30th I received a call from Tagon" in ATT customer service. I explained to him the issues. He said he was going research the issue and call me back with the names of the contacts that I needed. I never had back from him
II. Buggy Issues
1. Has an irritating problem while typing text messages. As you type messages it sometimes throws you out of your text message box in the middle of a typing stroke. Very frustrating.
2. If you are in the middle of typing a message you will have it all wiped out if a new call or message arrives while typing. Again very Irritating.
III. OUT Of Memory ERROR-- the big one
1. OUT of Memory Error: I repeatedly had to go into programs and delete programs and data several times per week. On Android Forums this problem with HTC is one of the biggest threads.
2. The memory error would give you a routine that was supposed to clear up the error. Very seldom did it address the memory issue.
3. Appears that HTC has some software issues yet they continue to allow the phone to be shipped and sold.
4. I called tech support for HTC 1-866-449-8358. I hoped they might have some patch or update. Nothing, the tech guy simply walked me through the data deletion routine.
5. The phones are being sold as something they are not. The are almost non functioning for practical every day use.
6. My phone shows 138 Meg used of 150 Megs available.... (I have downloaded 21 applications six of which are Google related . ) A 2010 Neilson Study showed smart phone users downloading an average of 27 apps to their phone, which is up from 22 in December 2009. According to Nielsen, which conducted a survey among 4,000 mobile subscribers, the iPhone not surprisingly led the pack with users downloading an average of 40 apps. Android came in second with 25 downloads per device,
150 Megs!!! HTC is too smart to have not know this was insufficient.. It was flawed at development and they knew it when they put it on the market. They have dupped the entire market with faulty products.
IV. Poor Battery Performance:
Ive had a lot of smart phones Treo, Blackberry, I-phone, and the HTC STATUS is by far the worst performer with regards to battery life.
In summary this phone should have never been on the market.

by richkeys1 on July 9, 2012
Pros: Best of both worlds...beautiful design ...touch screen and qwerty. It's android. Customizable. Loud speaker... Facebook friendly... Decent size screen... Android 2.3 gingerbread...
Cons: The only con is they could have sized the screen up a little more maybe even to 2.8 but that's nit picking..
Summary: This is a great great phone. Easy to use. Great keyboard. If your sick of using all touch screen phones then this is perfect. You don't even need to ...

Horrible. Just HORRIBLE. Don't get saddled with this.
by JayEsBee on April 29, 2012
Pros: Nice size and sleek shape. Functional keyboard.
Cons: ETERNALLY out of cache memory. It comes w/ a 150mb(!) OS/ cache that cannot be increased and fills to capacity sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. 120mb = essential systems that can't be moved. I spend all day removing cookies/ recovering passwords. POS.
Summary: This is a marvel of bad engineering. It is vastly lacking in space and that COMPLETELY negates the point of a smart phone. You can't store game information. You ...
Summary: This is a marvel of bad engineering. It is vastly lacking in space and that COMPLETELY negates the point of a smart phone. You can't store game information. You can't store PERSONAL information. You can't store ANYTHING on this phone. The fact that it has a "low storage wizard" is a JOKE because that wizard has only ONE function (to move systems to the SD card) and you will do that the FIRST time it comes up and never be helped again by the programme.
HTC does not in any way HELP with this, by the way. You contact them and they apologize for the inconvenience (this is, apparently, corporate speak for "sucks to be YOU. We got paid already"), but no one has tried to make some form of patch to move non-essential systems off the mainframe (for instance, WHY do all the cookies from Facebook HAVE to be in the limited 150mb system?).
HORRIBLE PHONE. DO NOT BUY. -

Deceiving looks. Terrible battery and memory.

Summary: This is my first smart phone, and I asked my dad to buy it because its pretty cheap on ebay. So we were so excited about this smart phone, I haven't told them about the messed up memory. I just can't believe after all the praises I gave for this device to be bought that I'll experience this extreme disappointment! TERRIBLE MEMORY and TERRIBLE BATTERY LIFE.
I'm pretty much happy about the "use of data when wifi is unavailable" but to my extreme disappointment this crap can't access my TMO data. -
HTC, go screw a cactus.
by GeekyChick0302 on January 3, 2012
Pros: Great looking device, sleek and attractive.
Cons: Less than decent battery life for those who text 24/7. NO INTERNAL MEMORY. Absolutely useless for it's intended purpose, Facebook.

Summary: This phone is a looker. No doubt. And it has a pretty okay battery life, especially if you don't text 24/7 like I do. But god, what idiot thought it was a good idea to provide a smartphone with less than even a single gig of memory?? All websites advertise that this phone has 512MB. However, at the end of the day, at its factory settings, you're really only given 120MB to work with. And all of that gets slowly but surely eaten up by the information Facebook is constantly collecting in the background, LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO DO. The HTC representative I spoke to on the phone today literally told me that the reason so much space gets taken up is due to facebook use. You'd think the company would have provided more space if this were the case. This phone is worthless. Less than 6 months in and I'm now being forced to buy a new phone just so mine will work properly.

Worst phone ever.
by ericajohnson0418 on December 5, 2011
Pros: It's aesthetically pleasing. Easy texting and Facebooking. That's it.
Cons: There is NO memory on this phone. I had to delete almost everything in my phone just to open text messages. There are a lot of glitches while texting as well.
Summary: I would not recommend this phone to anyone. This is my first smart phone and it has been incredibly disappointing. I'm hoping I can get a refund and a ...
