HTC Wildfire S - white (T-Mobile) price range: $155.99

The good: The HTC Wildfire S offers a decent set of features for a wallet-friendly price. The Android Gingerbread device has good build quality and call quality.
The bad: The smartphone's compact size won't suit everyone. The smaller display makes it a bit hard on the eyes when viewing Web sites and video, and the camera's picture quality could be better.
The bottom line: Its small size won't please everyone, but the HTC Wildfire S is a decent, entry-level Android smartphone for a very affordable price.

No memory makes the phone useless
by Mr Jordan on July 5, 2012
Pros: none really
Cons: the phones on board software from Google that is required to be updated is so large now that it takes all the memory and I cannot receive texts or hold any, not even one download or pic. The phone sucks
Summary: Again it sucks.

Lack of Internal Memory Disables Phone
by ElleMarieC on September 29, 2011
Pros: Looks Good
Cons: This phone is nothing but a tease. Htc basically used Android's name to sell it but there is rarely any access to the apps due to the annoying error message that you are out of memory.
The only 2 apps I installed initially were facebook and you tube ...Summary: Don't buy it unless you are up for a tease. It is an android imitator. Worst smartphone I have ever owned!

Summary: This review is to counter some comments. Now via TMo's website, its free online. $80 in store. So why even bother if you actually have to pay for it. Via 3rd party retailers for a new phone ( think of a wire and a fly) you can get the following phones for free:
Wildfire
Optimus T
Exhibit 4G
Gravity SMART
Sidekick 4G
Note two of the TMO 4G phones in that list. FREE. longer talk time, more memory, faster speeds, same free price.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Does anyone else find it odd that this phone and the Blackberry Storm are essentially the same physical size, yet the Storm was possibly a bit bulky for your pocket, and this one is possibly too SMALL?
Just goes to show that we get used to certain things and they skew our objectivity.
NOTE: I've not tried this phone yet so I cant comment on its software. Just wanted to point out the size conundrum.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Played with this in a T-Mobile store and the review captures everything perfectly about the phone besides the idea of the phone being cheap (money wise that is). So at $80 and 50 mail in rebate your thinking $80 for a Android phone made by HTC sweet! True and False because first you get what you pay for. For the additional $170 you can get an array of better phones. Some might say I really only need a phone to X amount of things, but people forget $80-$50 is a with a 2 year contract. Do you really want this for 1-2 years!? So value wise therefore price wise this is a terrible price.

Awesome phone!
by ilovehtc on August 9, 2011
Pros: This is a powerful pocket-able android smartphone for a very affordable price. HTC Sense makes this phone easy and fun to use.
Cons: If you desire a larger screen or keyboard you should consider a different option.

Nice phone for the money!
by ATeamJunkie on July 9, 2012
Pros: Decent processor will do the job. The Ruggedness and durability is pleasantly surprising. I've been harder on this phone than any that have come before it and it still works fine. Everything is still original, only added a screen protector.
Cons: The size of this phone makes it hard to hold onto at times. I have dropped this phone more times than I can recall. The internal memory is only enough to get by.
Summary: This phone has served me well for over a year now. Although it's small size is difficult for me not to drop, it takes the abuse very well. It'...
Summary: This phone has served me well for over a year now. Although it's small size is difficult for me not to drop, it takes the abuse very well. It's been submerged, dried and lives again! Very durable! Overall very good lower end Android. Anyone who uses this phone will find it easy to use.

Better buy two phones...this may take a while.
by rakerrigan on June 13, 2012
Pros: Good phone until something stops working and you have to send it in for warranty.
Cons: Sent my Wildfire to HTC on May 30; and will not get it back until early July. Roughly FIVE weeks to turn-around a warranty repair.
Summary: Buy a phone from a company that understands cell phone users. Really, how many cell phone users can go five weeks without their phone?

Great entry-level Android phone, but needs more memory.
by beikokujin on October 22, 2011
Pros: compact, smooth, easy to use interface, attractive, and very cost effective. phone functions were zippy enough and swype makes using the small on-screen keyboard easy. Great phone of you don't need a lot of apps.
Cons: Internal memory is way too small. I'm constantly getting error messages saying visual voicemail messages will not be downloaded because of not enough memory. I have only installed 6 apps other than what comes stock, and moved every app i could to the sd
