The good: The Huawei M835 runs on stock Android 2.2 Froyo and accepts up to 32GB external storage.
The bad: The Huawei M835's 2.8-inch screen is too small for our liking, the camera could be better, and the performance lagged. Battery life was also short.
The bottom line: While it certainly isn't our top pick, the Huawei M835 is one of MetroPCS' least expensive Android phones.

Created by a BAD circus clown? It's a bad joke!
by iminlivonia on August 28, 2011
Pros: Hmmm... well... I guess, well.... I'll have to get back with you on the pros.
Cons: I've had nothing but problems with this phone. The home key is too close to the keypad, so if you have big fingers like me, and you hit the home key instead of the space... your long text message is obiterated completely. I have to caharge the battery a

too small to be smart
by JCorroo on July 27, 2011
Pros: price (right now special in store price of $59)
android 2.2
google apps
music storage and easy access from main screens
screen definition very sharp colorful and clearCons: size matters in a smart phone - maybe a good 1st phone for kids but not for averaged sized people
poor "upgrade" of the ascend model
sound is unreliable and rather poor for phone use with static (especially via bluetooth or speakerphone) but have to saySummary: I ask you, why have a smart phone and a plan with unlimited internet access and texting and then have a phone with a screen so small that average people ...
Summary: I ask you, why have a smart phone and a plan with unlimited internet access and texting and then have a phone with a screen so small that average people cant see it well or use it easily for texttng? That doesn't seem too smart...
I had the huawei ascend and really liked it unfortunately it was lifted and the insurance considered this a "comparable replacement"
Yes the ascend was slow and sometimes got hung up, but so easy to see and so easy to use. Great screen size for internet, @ 3.5 inches, 20% bigger than M835. 10% bigger than the LG.
Yes all smart phones eat power, but the M835 takes less time to empty and more time to charge (smaller battery than the ascend or LG)
The call quality is poor. If it was my first metroPCS phone, i would probably switch carriers.
The touch screen is so sensitive i am using the back key more than any other -- difficult to scroll without inadvertently selecting and moving to the next screen.
As of now, it is not compatible with the cool new security app available through metroguard insurance.
I'll be sending it back and buying another Ascend. Seriously reconsidering the insurance too. (The sale price vs the deductible made the insurance cost more than paying for "replacement" at the store.)1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: it worth 80 dollars works better than my tmobile mytouch 3g. the battery is not the greatest. Using with google navigator worked fine, i have no problems texting I can do this all with one hand. Browser worked fine so did my rhapsody.
Cons: battery life is short. Screen is small but sometime small foot print is good.

Perfect for Me

Pros: The swype texting, the 2.2 froyo, its small compactness, touch sensitive buttons so no button damages, end key and the pick-up key, android, android marketing for apps, is a perfect price @ only $79, and enables bluetooth, mms,im, email, internet browser,
Cons: short battery life.
Summary: This phone is absolultely amazing in my point of veiw and exceded my excpectations. I have small fingers so the small screen is noo problem and is actually veryy compact. ...
Summary: This phone is absolultely amazing in my point of veiw and exceded my excpectations. I have small fingers so the small screen is noo problem and is actually veryy compact. The short battery life is no problem because i text more than i talk and most of my day i am in school so i dont talk anyways. To make a long story short this phone is an awesome choice if you are buying and android phone.

It's a Mini Huawei Ascend with a better camera.
by wyrmcrusher on January 17, 2012
Pros: Contrary to popular belief, Metro PCS DOES have 3G service, it's just limited, but has been expanding recently. I rooted mine and have been able to get the processor to run at 650 mhz and got rid of the bloatware, so it runs faster than normal.
Cons: SLOW! If you root it, it runs faster, but you run the risk of ruining the phone (like that's really possible). The Metro bloatware takes up half of what little memory is on the device(it only registers 167 mb), not much space for apps. TINY screen.
Summary: If you like the Ascend, you'll like the M835 except for the screen.
