Summary: This is a fantastic phone, It has the best screen that I have ever seen. Gorilla Glass too, so hard to break or scratch it. I think the CNet reviewer did a horribly poor job on his review. The 4G speeds on Metro are great (Fast enough that I don't even bother turning on Wifi most of the time), the coverage area in Dallas/Fort Worth is very good also. This is the best phone I have ever owned, hands down (and I have an iPhone 4 in the closet). LG doesn't put any restrictions on what you can install (unlike Samsung on the Indulge).
I honestly can't think of anything I want that this phone doesn't provide, and 4G service with metro is $55/mo including taxes. Boo on all you iphone customers paying $110/mo after taxes for 900 minutes of 3G service.
It's been rooted already and it's an easy process, so root it and pull off two or three pieces of MetroPCS crapware and you have a perfect phone !!!!

Summary: Best phone on Metro hands down. Also, for those that don't want or need a SUPER phone, this fits all my needs and more. To the idiot who complained at the bottom of the reviews about the price... $350 off contract without the mail in is still a great price for this phone. But if that guy would have just waited a few hours, he would have known Metro owned up to it's mistakes, and is accepting the Mail in Rebates for purchases even before October. Battery is not bad at all, and with moderate usage (talk, text and some light gameplay) can last 12 hours. I wound up getting an extended battery since I will take advantage of the unlimited data with Netflix.

Summary: The battery life is not great, but it does last me all day, any other android or smart phone I owned never lasted me all day, so I would say that the battery is not all that bad!! Love all the things you can do with this phone, and the size of it may be a problem with some, but I love the large screen. The camera is awsome, and I like that is has a flash, and front facing camera!! As for price I think its a STEAL for a phone like this. I have paid more and got less, and had to be locked into a contract. Overall I am 100% happy with METRO, and the LG ESTEEM :)

Summary: I switched to this phone from the Motorola Triumph and I love it. LG's UI is really nice and clean and I love the added features coming with it. Things run quickly and smoothly on this device (even though I don't live in a 4G zone). The display is vibrant and large.
I have had some issues though. When I grip the phone, the signal (WiFi and cell) drops. I don't know if this is just my particular device, but it can cause some irritations. There is an occasional lock up, but it's sporadic and not too cumbersome. The battery life isn't as bad as what I had on the Triumph, but it did overheat at one instance. Again, sporadic issues.
Other than some minor hiccups, this is a fantastic phone.

Summary: This is an excellent cell phone. It comes with android 2.3 (gingerbread) which is a nice OS even if it is not the latest version. The screen is big and clear calls sound great in your ear or on speaker phone. There is very little lag when using this phone and it comes with 8gb of storage built in and about 5.5gb is actually available to the user. The number one complaint with this phone is battery life but this is an issue with all android phones and can be largely fixed by installing a free app called juice defender or it's pay app cousin ultimate juice. I still keep an eye on what i do with the phone throughout the day but I have only had to recharge it once on a day when it saw particularly heavy use by my kids using it to play games. The other is that this phone is a bit short on ROM memory (512mb.) when a lot of apps are running it may lag a bit but this does not happen often and should not be a concern because it generally does not experience lag as often as lesser phones so for most users any lag experienced will feel negligible. This is the best phone currently in MetroPCS' line up and the best cellphone I have owned.

this is the metropcs phone to have
Updated on Mar 15, 2012
As for any issues with this phone, I have had none but as a long time MetroPCS customer I can offer some advice... 1- buy this phone from a store which offers a return policy (mostly franchisees and second tier cellular stores like letstalk.com.) 2- GET THE INSURANCE ON YOUR SERVICE PLAN! If nothing else works you can claim it was stolen and you will only be out the deductible. 3- register the phone with LG right away BEFORE turning it on. 4- The moment it looks like their might be an issue with the phone start calling customer service - from the place you bought it, LG, and metropcs- and ask questions about the issue like "has anyone else reported having similar problems?"
When it comes to their products, EVERY company wants to use its rules against you so do everything you can within that system to protect yourself
MetroPCS' customer service is no worse than anyone else's. You have to learn to use any company's system to your advantage because that is what they want to do to you.

Summary: we bought 3 of these phones, all 3 worked fine for about a week and then one started having problems.a set of earphones would popup and no one could hear you but you could hear them.so my daughter being over the minute limit with metro elected to send the phone back to LG direct, called got the info for returning and was transferred to a address line.the message gave the address and the message to remove the back, the battery and the sim card but not knowing what the sim card was she removed the 4g card and it clearly states on the card " DO NOT REMOVE" and she was told by the salesperson at metro never to remove it so she put the card back in and she sent the phone back waited about 10 days and got the phone back without the 4g card.so i called both the main office and the repair center in ft.worth and ask about the card and the screen protector.here is my last conversation:anytime a phone comes to the repair center and has the sim card in it,the card is destroyed ,and all cosmetics such as the face plate is replaced.the phone is then repaired and sent back to the customer.now this model will only work with the uicc card that came with the phone and no other card and you cannot buy one and have it matched to the phone. Then why would you destroy the card ,repair the phone and send it back to the customer knowing the phone will never work again? so we have a $300 phone that is useless.i have no idea of why they would toss the only card that this phone will work with, spend the time and money to repair it and send it back to the customer knowing it won't work.they say they destroy it for your security but that sounds a little lame.they have to come up with a way to return the card or replace the card or at least contact the customer and tell them they are returning the phone unrepaired because you left the card in it and because of security reasons you must remove the card and then return the phone for repairs.alot of hassell but better then what we got.be careful even though the card says do not remove take it out or you will end up with a door stop.i am hoping LG sees the error was partly their fault and replace the phone or find a way to re-card it but i have by doubts.

Way better than my old Evo 4g, or the Iphone 4s.
by CoCoKasper

Pros: Cpu is Powerful. De-tuned stock, but once rooted and clocked at 2.1Ghz it's blazing fast. mine performs best at 1.7ghz.
Glass is hard to scratch or break.
HDMI OUT, and if you buy the "dock" it becomes a digital alarm clock/media station. 4G FAST
Cons: stock it's full of bloatware from metro pcs and LG. it sucks the battery really bad, mostly due to the large screen and FB/social apps. as with all androids using icons and wigets on the homescreen consumes more battery. wifi uses less power than 4g

Summary: Besides the Galaxy S3 This is in my opinion the best phone out for metro. Heck it's better than any Ihpone just by tech specs, add the customizations that come with Android themes and launchers. You will love this phone once it's rooted and de-bloated. (unlocked to it's potential, and have the software thinned down) Until the S3 is less than $250 I will recommend this to everyone.
